Solver yourself answers:
1) 6.75
2) text book question a=2, b=1
How ?
For the first question just substitute the values 1.5 and 3 directly in place of a and b in the question that's it. For the text book question follow cancelling a for finding order of b and vice versa. You will find b easily. I think ur problem is with a, be careful see the question when you cancel rate side you Will be getting 4 not 2^4 so it becomes 2^a= 4 which is 2^a= 2^2 and you will get a=2
