- Alexander (Abram) Shmerkin, who was born in 1927 in Kopys, Belarus, testifies about the mass murder of Jews from Kopys. On January 14, 1941 the Nazis murdered the Jews from the Kopys ghetto in the Mergl Ravine, close to the flax factory three kilometers from the village of Staiki.
