- For this week's Friday Session we have something special for you. We are truly honored to be nominated for a Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) for "best Country album of the year" along with all these wonderful artists, and it was such a treat to sit down and play a song together! Here's Sweetheart, Malin Pettersen and Johan Berggren. We chose this beautiful tune by Gillian Welch, because of, I mean, that chorus. «Hard times ain't gonna rule my mind». What a soothing mantra for the times we’re in… Thanks Fuglen, for letting us use your coffeeshop, and thanks to Nikolai Grasaasen for filming, including us all in one take, despite us having to sit that far apart. Impressive:)

A little after 6 a.m. North Carolina, USA and again I’m traveling to Norway to hear Country/Bluegrass because it’s created best there. Who would have thought?
Congratulations to all of you for your well deserved nominations and for refreshing this well traveled, old Southern boy’s appreciation for this art form.
Also to Grasaasen, your handling of this one camera shoot with so many voices and deserving faces was perfect. Restrained, well-timed pans made pleasant what could have been annoying. You did justice to your subjects.
