Dang, that's a big ol bear. I'll never forget, in ONF once, had one walk up on me, about 50 yds away. My wife laughed at me when I hollered "hey bear" but wasn't laughing so hard when she realized I was serious, lmao. But, our black bears down here aren't quite that big. At least not the ones I have seen. Thank you for sharing your trip out west, yall. Simply beautiful. And the story behind Black Canyon is pretty cool. (Didn't know you had ranching experience, Bill. Nice video! My daughter and I took a trip to CO last summer, ('21), and got to visit the Black Canyon on our way leaving the San Juan mountains. It was a pleasant surprise that such a magnificent site and park were "hidden" in plain sight. Well worth the time to visit. We camped at Blue Mesa Lake, (saw that you went right by there), one night and watched the sunrise over the lake the next morning. Looking forward to the rest of your trip.

This looks like the start of a very fun and scenic series. Dunno how you all can deal with the shelf roads though. I would be white knuckled and staring straight ahead. The bear was cool, nice to see wildlife from a distance. Thanks for the video!

I was just up there last month and yeah, I can attest to the beauty. The national park has some good hiking trails, especially the one at the end of the road inside the park. I did some dispersed camping between the Curecanti Nat'l Recreation area and the Gunnison National Forest....the views of the San Juans from way up there are absolutely stunning!
That whole area is stunning!
This is the area we go several times a year all the way up through the grand tetons and yellowstone.

I have a ACD (8m/o), two weeks ago just south of Flagstaff, AZ we came across some cattle and she was ready to work and kept an eye on them while I made dinner for us. About 1.5 months ago she heard a herd of wild burros Near Jerome, AZ before I could see the burros strolling across the desert. They are a great breed for Overlanding. Enjoy Aspen!
Cool! We have had heelers in the past that worked cattle. Love to watch them work.
