Honestly, indeed "legitimacy of elections are no longer with the people but with politicians and Judges." Many of us commoners no longer bother to vote many years ago. What's the use voting. I said it before and TVC refused to post my comments. This supreme court judgment has more to it than meet the eye. There's the visible hand of a monkey manipulating the matter to deal with a current corrupt situation. How can the country move forward by using a seemingly legal method to solve a corrupt situation. Politicians and Judges, una de play. Don't run o. Stay and face the music when the time comes.

What Professor Kalu is simply explaining is that you cannot employ dirty water, dirty bowl and dirty soap in for the process of restoring a piece of dirty white clothing back to its whiteness. And I think this should not be too difficult for anyone to understand.

I humbly suggest to the host/anchor to watch this interview again and then check his dictionary for the meaning of the words "afraid" and "facts". Perhaps then he might understand how some (if not most) viewers (as well as his guest) may perceive his attitude as being uncomfortable whenever the guest's responses to his questions were different from the script he (the host) had written beforehand. I'm pretty sure he can do better than that but of course, he's not "afraid"! Speaking for me and just me, I must thank him though for inviting Professor Odinkalu to this interview.

Uzoma, if you as a journalist can not stand the frankness of Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, don't invite him to your station for an interview because he's not one of those that will sugar-coat words for you. Do you think these journalists in Nigeria (if they can be referred to as one) go back to read comments by their viewers? The failure of the institutions that has contributed to the failure of the country is not unique to the judiciary and law enforcement alone. The news media, as represented by the host of this program, exemplifies the inadequacies of the media to play their part in a liberal democracy. Frankly, I became irritated when this host kept pushing a mindset in contravention of the point his guest was making repeatedly. To make the matter worse, he referred to himself as a journalist. The jury is out whether we can truly call him a journalist or simply someone hosting a tv program.

The journalists in Nigeria now are so careful that they can’t even stomach the facts. It’s strange it’s judges electing their children’s wife’s in laws . It’s a sad situation no wonder the judgements are a downward spiral

Prof is saying that the people have no means or power to hold politicians accountable for their performances in government because they derive their mandates from the courts and not from the people.

Why didn't BAT push for this while in office as a governor? I will only give kudos to a sitting governor for fighting for local government autonomy in all spheres. Nothing is so special about governance!

This is why I don’t like Channels TV. They are pretenders and very afraid to speak truth to power.

This Journalist is a mere questions asking Journalist. He said so. They(his types) are always afraid to do investigations because exposing flaws in governments would make them lose patronage. Lazy and dogmatic as usual. He was not listening to the date(year) the Professor was reeling out. The guest is a very patient man.

The system is totally flawed yet we have an Odinaka.....the story of seeing issues from.only one perspective is totally wrong. There will always be exceptions and a turning point.Better write what wrongs than let the old order remain.
