This is spot on, and I greatly appreciated the direct hands on comparison with the other 3 models. Rattly bracelet aside, it says a lot about the SPB143 that it even can make an appearance in this video with watches that cost 4-10x the price.

Your conclusion actually supports its uniqueness while providing “character”
    1) titanium (lightweight)
    2) color of titanium (gunmetal)
    3) bezel lume
    4) bezel sunray
    5) red ‘Pelagos text’
    6) square lume plots with blue lume
    7) dial is a different shade of black vs gray, matte, inky
    8) tudor shield logo on crown
    9) 1st generation of the 39 Pelagos !!!!
    10) endlink with OEM rubber strap and attachment
Most importantly like u said it’s yours!!! U build memories around it….you add character to it not the other way around

I’ve been waiting for this video! I totally agree with you. You can’t go wrong with any of these options. My favorite is still the BB58 for the more premium feel while still having character without worrying I’m going to get mugged lol. The SPB is such a knockout especially for the price. I’m still considering picking one up! The P39 is a great watch but I do feel like it is trying to be too many things at once. A tool watch with simple brushed finishing but also a Sub alternative with the all black look. I love it and again I love not feeling like I’m going to get mugged. But I would feel like I’m wearing a Sub homage which would bother me. The Sub is an icon and the no date is stunning. But at this point in my life, even if someone gave it to me for free I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it. It’s way too expensive, well known, and thief magnetic for me to actually wear out anywhere, especially because I wear divers as tool/everyday watches.

This iteration of the Pelagos is a slam dunk for Tudor. If they ever come out with a blue variation, I may have to consider it. Thank you for mentioning the lume on the hands. I thought I was going crazy since no other reviewer mentioned it looking weaker than the markers. I felt like it looked half as bright and thought mine was defective. That being said, it does last all night. And I do love the watch. I have had many watches and find this watch to be an acquired taste. The clasp isn't as robust even with the micro adjustments. I wish they got rid of the wet suit and added more micro adjustment slots.

Added the Pelagos 39 in November and it has been my most worn watch in the collection:
    Rolex Submariner 124060
    Tudor Pelagos FXD MN21
    Sinn 103 sa BE
    Sinn 856 S UTC
    Seiko SKX Custom YM Ninja
    Seiko Prospex Speedtimer 🐼
    Studio Underd0g Watermelon 🍉
    Casio Calculator Watch
    Casio F91W
Not sure I would agree that the P39 is ‘boring’. It’s a great under the radar daily that is light to wear with great dimensions that doesn’t attract the attention of a Submariner. This is my 3rd Pelagos after l sold my LHD in 2021 when my AD called me for the Submariner allocation - never had an issue with scratches and it’s the same with my FXD and P39.

My grail would be something a long the lines of a Tudor sub so the Pelagos 39 is pretty much the closest thing to that. I’ve recently sold my BB58 something about the snowflake hands and round markers left me wanting more. I wonder if this watch can be a one watch collection for me. Thanks for this most excellent review. I got the 42mm Pelagos as I wanted a watch that also showed the date. Could not be happier. However, apparently I need a half link to size it properly. Take one out, it is too loose. Put it back in, it is on the tight size. The adjustable bracelet does not move it out enough to help. Any suggestion to how to size the bracelet? They just should have made a 39/40 mm version of the Pelagos without the escape valve. That would have been perfect. The original Pelagos is a tool watch.
