Kongōrin-ji Temple: 2000 Jizō statues in Candlelight! 金剛輪寺・約2000のお地蔵さんにろうそくの灯

滋賀県の金剛輪寺にて毎年8月9日に行われる「観音盆千日会・千躰地蔵盆」に出かけました。
本堂では観音盆の法要があり、「大数珠繰り」が行われます。
At the summer evening event, candles are lit alongside the 2,000 or so Jizō statues that line the approach to the Main Hall of Kongōrin-ji temple in Shiga Prefecture. It is a spectacular sight. It is said that those who visit the temple on this day will receive a blessing that lasts for 1000 days.
