  • French motorcycle accessories company, Ixon, has been around since 1966 and now produce a huge range of everything from high-end road racing leathers to adventure riding gear to shoes to casuals to you name it. And in recent years, the Family-owned brand has certainly forged a reputation not only for high-quality, feature-packed products, but also for the fact their price tags are often notably lower than comparable products from other leading brands.
Which is exactly why we were itching to get our hands on Ixon’s recently released Ragnar jacket and pant; the all-new, top-of-the line, three-in-one adventure gear that’s stacked with a bunch of extra features and tech compared with the Cross Tour jacket and pant (Ixon’s previous top-of-the-line adventure gear that we’ve been running for the past six years). After all, Ixon’s PR about the all-new Ragnar gear made some pretty lofty claims about how far both jacket and pant had evolved since their predecessors, so we were well placed to be the judge of that … and of how well the gear can be adapted to the range of riding conditions typically found in Australia.
RRP: Ragnar Jacket - $699.95; Ragnar Pant - $549.95 (both available in Back/Grey/Red and Black/Anthracite)

Cheers, fellow motard! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these Ixon products. Last August I went on holidays to Portugal and had to buy a new jacket as my Dainese "shrunk" from my last wearing (whistling) LOL! I bought this jacket in black+anthracite colours and I just loved it! Because temps there were daily above 30'C I removed both thermal and waterproofing interiors (which are very well made) and opening the vents allowed me to have such a "cool" riding experience. My Dainese jacket is also a top of the line jacket, but all leather and venting is the main zipper opened lol. Inconvenient, especially taking away whatever safety that jacket allows for.
Anyway, my Ixon Ragnar allows for comfort, lots of ventilation, lots of pockets as you've shown and also has a "zippered pouch" in the interior back were one can slide and secure a back armour. I bought and installed one for the added safety factor (that I have on the dainese). So all in all there's so much thought put by Ixon Research Dept that makes it such a high quality product. Ever since I started paying attention to many top tier brands' products and don't see so many details at way higher prices. I guess someone is paying for the name there.
I was interested in finding reviews praising this jacket and (aside Ixon's presentation ones) you're the first one I see. Now thanks to you I'll be ordering the pants to match my jacket :) Well worth the price point!
    Wishing you safe rides!!

ps: The "secret" pocket you found in 4:50 is also waterproof for added cellphone/gadgets protection. You also have another identical pocket oposite on the rightside with the same capacity, but it's not shock/waterproof :) by the way I also like the neck sliding fastener, very comfortable and ingenious!

I love Ixon gear. As a road rider, it was hard to find a jacket to suit my body shape and bust, but their gear fits me like a glove so i happily forked out the extra money for it. I only wish they would do more colours in the plus size (c-sized) gear as it is black black and more black. My winter jacket doesnt even have any reflection which was a concern for me.
