Okay since I'm here already, I'm gonna be yapping a bit.
A lot of people are concerned about the new wave of players that I have brought into GaB and don't seem to be very fond of that, some are concerned that this new wave of players would ruin the game and somehow kill it because they're "toxic" and of "previous similar incidents", well let me tell you this:
The "toxicity" of the new players is honestly just not true, people say the new players are toxic because they mess up at simple stuff and are bad at the game. I'm sorry but that's not toxicity, that's just being new at the game, which everyone has been at one point. "Repeating jokes" is another point that people often bring up, but that's not necessarily toxic, you just don't like the joke: nobody can be funny to everyone at all times. They're not targeting you to make you feel bad nor trying to make your experience worse, they're just sharing jokes they like, which is a thing people do.
In fact, if you take the perspective of the new players, the community of GaB might be the toxic one:
"You discover a cool game from a CZcams video and decides to try it out, you log in the game and people ask you how you found the game, you answer, then they just start bashing you, calling you an edgy toxic 12 years old, that you're ruining the game, that you're not welcome, trash talking about the person who brought you to the game and some other stuff (I'm sure there's a lot). You share some jokes you like and people just respond with revulsion and act like they're better than you." BONUS POINT FOR Y ALL IF YOU MANAGED TO BULLY THEM OUT OF THE SERVER.
As you can see already, not exactly a pleasant experience for the newer players and definitely leaves a bad taste in people's mouth. The truth is, these people I have brought are technically the targeted demographic of the game, people that, if I did not make a video, would eventually stumble upon the game anyways and play it, because the concept and the genre interested them (which is why they decided to try it out in the first place)
By realizing that they're not welcome and that the community is against them, they will simply play a bit then never come back (if you learned a bit of economy, you would know that a lost customer is a lot harder to get back than acquiring new customer, same concept applies here)
So here, to answer some questions: no, a lot of the previous game I made a video on did not die, if you look at the player graph, there is usually an increase of player months after compared to before I have made a video. The reason why these game eventually got less player is actually because the community chased away a big chunk of potential playerbase themselves, I usually don't bring new potential players to a game, I simply accelerate how fast these potential players find out about the game. And if you drive them away and they never come back, well, they never come back. Older players get bored of the game and leave and the newer players, well, you already chased them away, so the game eventually dies.
That's my 2 cents, I will inevitably bring new players by making a video, but how you treat these new players is not up to me, but the community. After often times, you ought to look in the mirror and ask yourself whose fault it really is because unfunny jokes and bad players don't drive people away, toxic players do.

I agree with a big portion of this. Main goal of the vid was me just making fun of the fact that most people actually got heated because you decided to play the game. It sounds dumb just typing it out.
I don’t want to bash the game that I do videos on but I will agree that there are a lot of people in G&B who intentionally are just assholes or are super egotistical. I have been vote killed many times for forcing an objective too fast or doing something wrong.
The devs of the game did realize that it was getting annoying how you were getting talked about for playing the game and are doing their best to shut people up about it because honestly it shouldn’t be a problem to begin with.
In the long run, it was just me being me and whatever my creative brain decided to produce for a vid.
I am not in the percentage population that thinks whatever you touch explodes 💀

i mean, majority of his viewer are children (most like any other youtuber fanbase (im looking at you too JMT)), but what the negative effect is? toxicity, because children (who awaits for the new episode of unfunny looking toilet) are very much toxic after they are left unsupervised with unlimited internet access, so i can expect alot of backlash like: "this game is very unfair, the zombie killed me wayy too easily, nerf please" and "the gun reload is wayy too slow, make it faster!" and also "add gun skin"

There is 0 problem. They will either get bullied off the server or realise that the games not fun because they have 0 friends. people are completely overreacting its just a video. I'm in his server I would know
So far I've saved many of these new guys, some don't melee, others melee really recklessly, and and well the medics don't know how gathering supplies work but they actually are capable of fighting back, well as cannon fodder, when the Sappers don't build I just use their unfortunate bodies as a stop-gap measure to start hacking away with a Handaxe and kill most of them and be on my merry way, KDR went from 70, to 75 surprisingly enough, I don't get the fuss, this is the start of a new meta, we'll call it the cannon fodder as barricades meta.
I remember I was happy to see him make a video on Isle, then uh, his fanbase kinda went from 0 to 100 real quick. (No hate just public servers were a mess for a month) I want to assume the same thing in G & B, or not. Gl.

In this "tank fish argument", the only problem with the gab community is that people in the community think other people's fanbases are filled with "12 edgy kids" (even thinking they would raid the server, which is stupid asf) but that shit didn't even happen, they just said "oh tankfish is making videos on gab and it might bring some kids into our server and ruin it" but that didn't happen, not even will happen,why they even worried about it?

I think that the problem is that some comunitys thinks that they are better just for playing something an example is minecraft during 2015 and 2017 we all remeber the cyberbulling that the minecraft fan base suffer
Honestly is good he made a video of it, more players will increase the playerbase and even support the game. Even if the new players aren't as good with time they will become better. Many people criticized his community, but I don't see much of a difrence between the 2.

I was also a new player of G&B, and it went horribly (first: private server to get a feel of it, second: public server to see what my skills are as a 1800’s survivor)

Thats cool new players. I've been experiencing player getting bored of ghe game and its sad to see the game was going to due but then Tank fish came along and brought some new players to the community, till the GaB community had to talk shit about the new players like if they're bad and dont know what theyre doing. But i hope to see new players in my next gameplay.

Time for another influx of new players making up whole public servers. Its up to me now to once again clutch vardo and have Sisyphus moments plenty of Sisyphus moments of them not shooting bombers and watching me eaten alive while reloading.
What I’ve experienced so far is that the new wave of players are honestly a lot less toxic than the more experienced players in servers ive been in. Ik ive only been playing for a few months and im still not great at the game but its fun. I just think of these mistakes i, and others make as a learning process instead of “UGH YOURE SO TRASH WHY DID YOU DO THAT” or smth. Anyways yap session over.
