It's amazing to me how the torch gets passed down from hand to hand. Gordie and Wayne are the finest examples of that!
This is the epitome of a good Canadian boy. Who could ask for better human beings than Gretz and Howe🍻
Totally agree. Class acts,
Stopped too soon. Wanted to hear about the new York trip. Met Gordie twice . Once at a hockey clinic ,once at wings stadium when he signed books . He was truly a good person. We were supposed to keep the line moving so everyone got to see him. He would talk to people for hours.
The Great One! Awesome!
I really like hearing Wayne speak
Have been a Gordie Howe fan since the late 50's. You would be hard-pressed to find a better ROLE MODEL both on & off the ice. Was fortunate to meet him a few times & was always amazed how he had time for everyone, especially the KIDS! Many thanks to Gretsky & Orr for their kind words. Who more than them would recognize not just his talent but his being an amazing HUMAN BEING! We were very lucky to have him in Detroit for most of his career. GOD Bless him
Wayne Gretzky Gordie Howe two very humble caring people I'm glad they got to meet and become friends and I hope there's a million little kids out there want to be just like both of them and all aspects they are perfect all around sportsman and man and ambassador for the sport and Wayne sure wish you could have come to Detroit
Both Wayne and Gordie, Class acts through and through. Wayne and I are in agreement, Gordie Howe was thee greatest hockey player ever! Redwing hockey! Monday night is hockey night!
I actually had one dipshit tell me this:
Ryan Friesen
@Dallas Brubaker they only let Howe play because of his name by the time how was 30 he was already washed up while wayne kept piling on points after that age, wayne is just simply a better classier player that played in a harder era than Howes slow ass dinosaur era :)
My reply was:
@Ryan Friesen you are just a pansy-ass because you have no replies to Gretzky calling Howe the GOAT and I proved you wrong with "When Howe was 30 he was already washed up while wayne kept piling on points after that age." 360 goals after age 30 (12 full seasons and a average of 30 goals a season) compared to 199 goals after age 30 (10 full seasons and an average of 20 goals a season).
What are you going to tell me now? Gretzky was hypnotized when he said it?
There is a new math that says 199 is a larger number than 360?
(He had no more posts after that)
Wow. Redwings fan since the late 80's.....and I sure appreciate Mr Gretzky's high regard for the Wings franchise. Also, love him noting how Gordie was friends - even with opponents. Man, we could use a bit of that in other aspects of life.
When the Hockey News rated the best players of the 20th century they called it Gretzky, Orr, Howe. Wayne and Bobby each wrote in and said, I’m not better than Gordie Howe. That’s what the greatest players had to say!
Canadians are such great people. Me being Canadian has nothing to do with my opinion ;).
I agree, and me neither :).
Anyone know when this interview was made? Was it June 10, 2016?
I think Wayne wants us to "listen." LOL!!!
Wonder how things would have went if he wouldve been a red wing
@J M No. That was Toronto and Edmonton who almost traded teams. It wasn't until 1988 that Gretzky was dealt.
And Edmonton was awful in the early 1980s? That's news to me. From 1981-82 until 1988-89, they had at minimum 99 points every season. Edmonton was a juggernaut in the 80s. They had a fucking cheapskate owner who wanted to trade teams with Toronto.
Gretzkey wanted to be a Red Wing.
Lmao Oilers were terrible in the early 80s??? Edmonton Oilers??? Really ??
Probably more Stanley Cups in Detroit.
Eh sorry this will be unpopular but I’m glad as a fan he didn’t come to Detroit . Stevie was the man of the team and having Gretzky around would have pushed him out . Maybe in the timeframe of him going from La to St. Louis he could have came and not took that from The Captain.. but let’s be honest by then he was basically toast . It would have been cool for him since he wanted to be a wing growing up for sure though .
He should play Red Wings until he retires he would play with Mark Howe son of Gordie.
What?
@@davidkruse4030 He was Red Wings fan but played 0 times 0 seasons and 0 goals
It's funny how it looks like Wayne is 6'9" here
What is he standing on
@@Nall412 All his records 😄
@@jockejocke1 ohhhhhhh shitttt 🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
Gordie should of gave Wayne a albow in the chops......take that kid
2 CLASS ACTS!
