The Tearer is voiced by Billy Kametz. In fact, this is his final role before he died of Colon Cancer a few months ago. RIP
rip , i was sad to see that we didnt get to hear more from him in this game , Tearer in general was lacking in screen time as the main villain
I’d like to think of Ferdinand being his final role, since both games came out at the same time and I’d like to think of his last role being a heroic noble who shouts his name all the time.
the thing i didn't like about Tearer's is how little of screen time he have , hes the main villian or culprit of this game but yet again we didn't see him alot
True, I agree tearer didn't appeared as much as I thought, kinda want him and ryuki to has one last interaction before that take place
He died as soon as we boot up the game. Sort of like how Thanos dies in the beginning of Endgame.

He died at the beginning of the (Present) route
He was alive in the (Past) route.
For what we got with Tearer/Uru I did like him as a villain but it really disappointed me that we didn't get to see more of him in the game and I feel like he wasn't utilized enough in the story because of his limited limited screen time. I say this because given Uru's past of a kidnapped child and being forced to live as Jin's organ donor, not to mention being locked away in basically a prison like room, I think Uchikoshi could've made him a pretty tragic character that became Tearer due to his hellish past and wanted to get back at the world for what he considered abandoning him with Tokiko being the only person who showed him genuine love. It's also why I wasn't the biggest fan of the voice distortion, because while I understand he had have it due to spoilers considering Tearer/Uru was one of Billy Kametz last roles before his passing I would've loved to hear Billy playing a tragic villain his performance as Rui from Demon Slayer proved to me he could play that role really well.
yeah , Tearer/Uru could have been the best villain in the game but they kinda rushed it at the end for some reason and end up not giving him the screen time
@@unik9018 If the survey Spike Chunsoft recently made for Somnium Files succeeds and we get a 3rd game hopefully it's main villain will be more involved in the story and not be wasted like what unfortunately happened to Tearer/Uru. As it stands I like Saito more since I think he's more well crafted villain than Uru. Though had uru been better utilized in Nirvana Initiative and was more fleshed out as a character He' probably be tied with Saito as a villain.
R.I.P Billy Kametz. You were a real one.

I wish we got more scenes of Uru without the mask on. Especially when the voice changer they used made his voice completely incomprehensible without subtitles. Plus it would have been nice to hear more of Billy’s voice.

I loved the idea of Tearer, he actually felt like a threat. I wish we interacted more with him, but was honestly so annoyed how they handled his character towards the end with Mame.
yeah , it felt like the entire game was rushed in the end for some reason
I feel despite everything that the tearer kinda works if you look from the perspective of those inworld who believe in the simulation theory: whenever we see someone is whenever the FRAYER chooses to interact. Those who are super religious about it must be aware of that presence, if only slightly. Even his character sprite as Uru looks directly at the screen at points, not to the side like the rest. The tearer case was part of the 6-year long lure Togiko used to tear a hole in reality. As she said, the plan succeeded, because they curated these cases in all of those timelines. Everything happened so this could happen.
I felt like the dumbest person in the world during his Somnium. The only puzzle I understood 100% was that the one with the portraits, and the only other puzzle I managed to understand thanks to my understanding of Tearer's mentality was the one in which they asked their mom for help. The rest...

Gotta say Uru somezuki look a little bit similar to johan liebert from the anime series "monster" even his backstory of being abduct as a young kid and having some of his organ transplant over to jin kinda remind me somewhat of johan, wish he appear more as himself should had a few more cutscene of him talking to ryuki/mizuki i want to hear billy kametz speak longer, rip Billy, fun fact: he and the charactes his voice acting tearer/uru both died at the age of 35

Didn't notice until you say it Uru does look sorta similar to Johan from "monster" i wonder if uchikoshi took some inspiration from that anime and I also agree he should appear more like this, tearer distored voice was so hard to hear would be better if it had been Billy kametz voice for the finale of the game, kinda sad that ryuki didn't get to throw hand with tearer/uru before amame meet and killed him

Watching "Kagegurui" has made me try crossovers of this game's characters and the show's songs on shows and movies I liked (especially "Ben 10", and at least half of the scenes are kinda sexualized for some reason). No, I don't know why.
For example, Amame and Genny are now part of Zombozo's gang. She has the power to mimic the most seductive voices and to add chorus effect to them, which she uses to sing beautiful songs, which mixed with the guy who spews substances from his mouth, can send her listeners into sort of acid trips based on her songs.
She uses this power to have Gwen believe she merges herself with the hair gal (who's 13 years old in this scenario) in order to create a female being with the form of a goddess that steals the audience's life force.
Oh ! And the Ai-Balls are now artificial hybrids created from the DNA of a member of Ghostfreak's species with human DNA.
