Ouch, Bea darling, you did the wax the wrong way. Apply it in the direction of hair growth and after it hardens a bit (but not completely) remove by holding the skin taut and tearing off IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF HAIR GROWTH. It'll hurt less and cause less irritation.

This, it was giving me pain just looking at her pull it like that and then putting makeup 😢let the skin breathe, oh also don’t scratch it when it starts to itch, if you can’t stand the itching use ice cubs to press on it to let the skin cool-down.
Usually after waxing is good to wait after 24 hours to do anything to it since the skin is still sensitive from the ripping of hair out.

Make sure to see a registered dietitian and not a nutritionist. Dietitians are board certified and regulated in the sense as you have to have certifications to even call yourself a dietitian otherwise Straight To Jail lol, while nutritionists CAN have taken courses anyone can say they are a nutritionist and are not regulated in any way.

As someone who has been getting waxed for almost 10 years I would not recommend waxing right before makeup application as that could cause irritation and it also opens you up to more acne in those areas. Allow the skin to calm for 24 hours before applying make up. I would also recommend a skin calming oil as that lip wax feels like a 1000 knives stabbing your upper lip. ❤ love you Bea!!!

Just an FYI for others, as of 2024, registered dietitians (RDs) need a minimum of a master's degree for licensure, while many states don't have any education or licensure requirements for nutritionists. Also, I have met with Dr. Mayer here in Los Angeles and the link between things like autism and IBS are very interesting--not that it is your issue but a lot of his clients end up being on the spectrum who have gut issues as well.

Bea!! Please go see a physical therapist for your elbow. It'll heal faster and ensure there are no recurrences. Also, the exercise programs often make the affected muscle groups stronger. It's a release. You cry because you're so stressed out and constantly triggering your adrenal system. It's your body's response to stillness and quiet. You're releasing all the stress you store in your body and finally relaxing. Stress can also cause migraines and be stored as physical pain in your back, hips, and joints. I have PTSD and somatic yoga poses, like sevasana, are used as therapy to help release trauma stored in the body and it can make us cry too.

I also have pcos. Even though we are not diabetic our bodies kind of behave like we are. Our bodies create an excess of sugar for the blood and then the blood kind of goes oh we don’t need that let’s make it fat, which is why we often feel so hungry. So high “good” fat low carb diets work for pcos people but it’s tough. Body builders and protein became such a marketing ploy, our bodies can only use a certain amount of protein and when we over load that is when we get issues with our kidneys. Someone once did a great analogy of our bodies are a builder and protein is the bricks, you can give a builder more bricks but it won’t make them build any faster so they have piles of bricks everywhere that get rained away.
This is of corse over simplified but a good starting understanding

I had elbow tendonitis for so long! I bought some elbow compression sleeves off amazon, which really helped and I use them for all of my weight lifting and also things like yard work and stuff. I went to my chiropractor for help and such. Muscle scraping felt really good. Finally, when I started to work out MORE OFTEN, it went away! Which is so weird! It was SOOOOO painful for SOOOOOO long! I still use my elbow sleeves all of the time. They are advertised as like having like copper in them, which I sort of don't believe. I went to school for Dietetics and protein goals are based on 0.8-1g/kg (yes based off of kilograms not lbs) body weight. Also fat with your protein helps maintain blood sugar. Yes, lean protein can spike insulin, no one talks about that! So whole eggs are better than egg whites, despite what "they" say 🤭For some people snacks help with anxiety but intermittent fasting (8-10 hour eating window) is also a great tool for some💕💖💕

To me yoga is not a workout. (Yes its hard) but i see it as the physical processing and cleaning of mental space and aligning the 2. I don't treat it the same as exercise, my yoga teacher always says if you're not feeling up to something thats ok and rest in child's pose and dont compare yourself to others! If you're feeling a stretch than your doing enough.

Hey Beatrice! I am not a professional bodybuilder, but I have been doing bodybuilding to help lose body fat for 3 years. For my nutrition, I make sure that it has a good amount of protein, fat, carbs, and fiber.
Protein: ideally .6-1.25g/ lb of body weight. The heavier you are when you start, the lower end of the spectrum is best. So .6 is a good starting point.
Carbs and fats kind of fall wherever, but you don't want to be under 40g of fat/day because it messes up your hormones.
Fiber: Women should be getting at least 25g/day.
For supplements: I just fill in the gaps that I notice I'm not getting nutritionally. I take legions multivitamins, vitamin d+k, fish oil, vitamin c, and magnesium. If you look into it, a tremendous amount of the population is deficient in magnesium. All the others I take to balance my hormones and manage cortisol. It's alot but it has helped me tremendously!

Most people with PCOS usually have Insulin resistance (IR). You can have a perfectly normal blood sugar level, with an abnormal insulin level. It can cause serious problems with your hormons and your ability to loose weight. So, if you haven't already, test your insulin levels, too.
After I was diagnosed, I started the right diet and medication and lost 30 kg, so I strongly recommend to check this out :)

A person can have insulin resistance for years before it reflects in their glucose readings. A much better indicator is a fasting insulin or C-Peptide test. A CGM is a great tool to see how your body responds to foods! I hope you talk more about it.

The 1 gram per target-weight pound is indeed more than is needed, even for almost all athletes and body builders. But it's an easy number to remember and aim for, and it's also safe for virtually everyone.
0.4 to 0.75 grams per target-weight pound, depending on activity level, is a more realistic level if you don't want to overshoot. So that sounds more in line with what your nutrionist suggested.

Hey Bea, you might have tennis elbow. Same thing happened to me during lockdown. The times when you feel pain sound right for that. You can buy a cheap strap to put counter-pressure on the tendon when working out (or just throughout the day) and I have found that helpful.

I was thinking the same thing I had tennis elbow from carrying too many groceries home on a walk all the time. What she is describing and how it hurts when she moves it in certain ways. I ended up going to physio. But you could look up what stretches/ exercises to do online and see if it improves it at all.

Thanks for all the insights, Bea! My doctor said that even if someone is overweight, when you’re young, the blood work will generally still look fine because your organs and body are young. However, according to him, your body is working harder than someone who is in a lower BMI range to keep all the levels within the normal level. It’s added wear and tear on your body 🤷🏻‍♀️. (Speaking as someone who is also overweight and had a long conversation with her physician.)

Yesterday, i had a yearly House Call from a nurse with my health insurance. My BP was at the high end of normal. My BMI was 131. and the A1c was good.
I found out that my insurance will cover going to the fitness and performance center at the hospital. Next week I will be going there to get
a fitness assessment and start with a program for seniors. I think it will basically be light exercises to start and then go from there.
I will be going to my regular doctor in October for the yearly checkup there. I STILL have problems with the food side of things. actually, i have problems
with the mind side of things in making the decisions to just go ahead and DO IT!!!

If you're feeling up to really facing the inner stuff that's been buried away - in huge quantities - over a short amount of time, I recommend doing a vipassana meditation course. Really helped me to learn how to feel through this baseline of anxiety and stress and really free myself more and more from it. At first it's scary and it requires a lot of self work to finish it, but it offers a super valuable meditation technique that comes in handy at just any moment in life. I can't recommend enough. 🌻

Continuous glucose monitor is amazing! I was measuring glucose 7times a day and the numbers were looking bad. Then I switched to the monitor and doctor said the graph is looking good any my pregnancy diabetes wasn't that bad as we thought weeks before. So I see it as a good investment for you to. Just keep in mind the values have delay of 20-30minutes to what you do/eat (even when instructions say 15min tops 😀)

I remember mine went on maternity leave when I was going through neuralgia, the most painful thing and I have ever experienced in my life. I had about three good hours a day. Then it was just waiting for the next dose of triple Advil, when it started to wear off about half an hour before. The substitute dietitian said "well maybe you could schedule the medication so that you feel good when it's time to go to the gym." I just stared at her. Like, lady, I'm trying to schedule those three hours so that I can go to my job and teach and feel good for *that* time! As much as I liked that person personally (because I had interacted with her a bit in the office), I could not believe she said that

One of my best friends had a mom with neuralgia and it was labeled the unaliving disease because of how painful it really is 💔 she had to be on morphine and she basically lived on the couch or in bed 😢 I wouldn't spend my 3 good hours a day working out either lol 😅 I'm sorry but I would want to do something meaningful and it's good u got someone else who can actually see u as a human ❤

    • @LindaC616
      @LindaC616 Před 20 dny

@LizzieEstelle well, there are different kinds, and the neurologist did not tell me which kind of mine was, but by the description of the symptoms and the pain, I think it was trigeminal, the one you're talking about. And people say they feel hopeless bc there's no way of getting rid of it, but once we figured out what mine was, it took two trips to the chiropractor and two massages to make me functional again. The pain was so bad that when people at work would see me coming and they would smile and say "hey! how are you doing?!" And then they'd get closer and see my face, they would say "oh!" because they knew by my face that something was wrong. We spent weeks trying to figure out what it was, because we thought maybe it was a sinus infection or something that just wouldn't go away, since I had been sick for a few weeks before and then I had some purple spots appear on different parts of my body. It later turned out that I had Lyme, and my doctor thinks they're connected. I think it was a result of spending too much time sitting on the sofa at home with the laptop, working until ridiculous hours of the night.
I heard that about it when I realized what I had, that it was called "that" disease, but I wasn't sure if it was because you felt like doing it, or whether the drugs just rendered you useless. The first drug I got from my doctor left me useless. I woke up, made breakfast and got halfway through my coffee, and fell asleep. Woke up, warmed up the rest of the coffee, and before I could finish it, fell asleep again. So they had to put me on a lighter dose of something that worked out really well, because I couldn't feel any effects. I was lucky

I had tennis elbow in the past and it was super painful. Sounds similar to what you have. Resting is a good idea and if that doesn't work, I recommend seeing a physical therapist. Certain typez of massage and stretching can help it also. They used a scraping tool that hurt a lot but eventually helped. Other than that, I'm so glad to see another video of yours so soon. By the way, your hair looks so cute and you cut it yourself! Not many people can say those two things together! One last thing: I had PCOS and I took spironolactone for a few years to calm down the acne associated with excess androgens. It really helped me a lot.
