- It's time to set the record straight on big zucchinis! They possess qualities and attributes that their smaller siblings don't have! And, when it comes to getting the seeds out of them, there really is a right way and a wrong way. And the right way is SO EASY!

This was the first video of yours I've seen. Perfect, to the point. And I learned what I wanted to. I like your straight-forward, matter-of-fact approach, such a nice change from all the people who put on affected voices and ham it up for the camera. Thank you!
This was so helpful, thank you! I almost threw my big zucchini away!! You saved them 😊
Once the Zucchini is picked, the seeds start absorbing the moisture in it, that's why the seeds seem to get easier to find, and the flesh seems to loose some moisture. Great video! Thanks for making it!
This is my first year I am going to try to save my seeds for next year and this is one of the best tips I have seen. Thanks.
Excellent tips! Thanks for making this video!
I tried your zucchini cake recipe tonight with dinner yuuuummmy. I had 3 myself, couldn't help it, with the sour cream topping.thanks so much for sharing!
Oh my gosh I love everything about you and thank you so much for helping me with how to use a giant zuchini
LOVED the video and LOVE zucchini. I store my zucchini in the fridge, in a plastic bag wrapped with paper towels. They stay so great that way. I just change the towels every few days... Good info! Thank you!!
Thanks for the tips. This was really helpful.
Great the watch you explaining about Zucchini Harvesting and Seeds. Thanks for sharing
Thanks, Patrick! :)
Thank you for your very informative video. I am only new to gardening in Australia but my zucchini harvests have been in abundance and some are very large.
Awesome video Thank you!! I thought I going nuts when my zucchinis are bigger than the ones I've seen in grocery stores lol. 👌
Love it. I'm letting a few grow this year for seeds now. Why buy seed if you can make your own?
awesome tip . ty so much . hugs from michigan i also subbed !!
Thanks for the tips😊
I love to use the big zucchini and slice it long ways as lasagna noodles it’s awsome
Can you freeze them for later use?
Its snowing here in Central, PA.I'll be all ready to start cleaning my growing room and getting ready for 2016. :DGreat video, love your channel.
Isn't it so exciting to think of setting the grow room back up? I have as much fun inside in the winter as I do outside in spring & summer! So exciting! :) And thank you!!
Thanks ever so much for making this video, my mum was trying to figure out if the home grown zucchini were edible bcos they're stone hard to cut and she cut her finger :( but it's skin deep so she's ok, thanks again.
I love the big ones. I make them just like German potato salad, only zucchini. Family loves it.
Great advice, the reason you dont have seeds in the one section. it is in the neck per say, Butternut better example of the neck. Ill start saving my own seeds and freezing for bread and cakes. Thanks!
Do you use the skin (rind) from the giant ones?
I never knew this either....thanks so much !!!!!!
Yay!! You're welcome!! I'm glad I wasn't alone! Lol
i am trying to find out if the pointy end goes into the soil first or the blunt end? - when planting our harvested seeds. thank you
I have heard others place the seeds in sideways so that the water runs off of them, but I don't think it really makes much difference. My zucchini seeds all grew and produced into big beautiful plants with an abundance of fruit. Good luck in growing them.
Thanks - enjoyed your video. Saving my large zucchinis gift from destruction!!!
I have never been able to make zuccini/squash seeds grow. I think that in some kinds of zuccini the seeds don't mature, which make them more eatable. So I buy a bag of seeds for almost 5 dollars that will last for 1-2 years.
Those seeds collected I don't think have gone to full maturity. They look plump when you pick them but once they dry out they deflate because they have not fully matured. I think the way to fully mature the seeds is to leave the zucchini on the plant until the plant dies off and then store it for 2 weeks. Then collect the seeds. In this time the seeds have had enough time to mature.
Zuke is my favorite grow crop. Please tell me the exact name of the watermelon flesh seed in footage. Merci'! 😍
Those zucchini where solid as a pumpkin
I like to use a small rubber mallet to tap my knife into harder squash and zucchini. Easier and safer!
Hi there, do you soak the seeds in water for 5 days like tomatoes seeds?
Nope! Tomato seeds are soaked to ferment
the goo off of them. :) "Dry" seeds, such as these or pepper seeds can simply be dried then stored. However, zuke & other squash/melon type seeds need to air dry on a flat sheet for quite a while ~ like 2 weeks ~ before storing as they contain moisture inside the seed, and if stored too soon, they'll mold. Just happened to me, actually, and I know better! :)
Good info and you are fun to watch. Very real and relatable.
Thanks for the tips! Do your zucchini skins ever get tough?
Kathy Stewart, when they’re huge like this, sometimes yes. But if that’s the case, I just peel them before I shred or steam them. :)
That's to protect shelf life. 😍
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A SPIRALIZER BIG ENOUGH FOR MY LARGE ZUCCHINI. DO YOU KNOW OF ONE?
I heard the seeds are roast-able too
yes! they're really good with some garlic olive oil!
When cooking w big zucchinis does the skin need to be removed because it is tough.
I prefer to remove it. Definitely a personal preference tho. :)
4:39 Get seeds from biggest fruit... ok, got it.
Seed giveaway?
Haha! I'll definitely be sharing those seeds, but not on a large-scale giveaway. There's lots, but not THAT many. ;)
