While I agree about the judges, Romania said that it should be 3 Bronzes. The Original Romanian Bronze Medalist Ana Bărbosu who should've been 5th, Jordan Chiles who should've been 4th, and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea who should've been 3rd (Bronze).

There are rules and arbitration committees for a reason. And right thing happened in the end. Romania has the bronze medal.
Like many sports, including baseball, soccer, football, basketball, and even in fencing, the rules have a mechanism for questioning the judges/referee’s decisions.
Decisions made by hugged during a play or a performance can be reviewed by the request of a coach AS LONG AS the coach submits their request for a review within the time allowed to do so.
The US team should have made their inquiry in the right amount of time according to the rules.
They did this properly at other times before. So they know the rules. They just didn’t do it right this time.

The Romanian delegation contested the penalty on the spot but they were dismissed due to untimely presentation. However, Chiles contestation was originally accepted even though it was untimely as well. The Romanian team and prime minister were scandalized by what happened to Voinea, not Barbosu, and they appealed on the grounds that the penalty in case of Voinea was flawed. It seems that the result of the appeal backfired for both Chiles and Voinea, and favored Barbosu instead. It is sad for all three participants, I am sure none will be super happy with this result. These girls work for most of their lives for this and they don’t get too many chances to win…

The point is that you appeal immediately after you receive your score. You can't wait until other scores come in and then ask for a review. The protest has to be in before the winner is announced. Those have been the rules for 15 years. There was a worldchampionship where the US lodged protests on 4 occasions and each time, right before the announcement of the winner. 3 of the protests were accepted. Other gymnasts started complaining that protesting a score is not a tool to snatch a win. You dont file a protest unless you are sure a skill you did wasn't counted. And if you do; do it right away. Because it wasn’t just the judges’s fault and not just the superior jury’s fault but also the coaches were at fault. Voinea’s coach should have appealed twice, one for the D-score (she did, got rejected) and one for the neutral deduction (she didn’t, so Sabrina’s score couldn’t be raised for the unfair deduction she received). And Jordan’s coach were too busy talking to each other instead of doing their jobs and protecting Jordan’s rights by immediately appealing, instead they wasted 45 precious seconds and they appealed too late.
The medal should have been Sabrina’s. Since mistakes were done basically by everyone involved and procedures were not followed, they decided to give the medal to the girl whose score was correct and nobody messed up her score, Ana.

Right before her second tumbling pass, she swung her left foot over the floor as part of her choreo, and her left foot came extremely close to the out of bounds. However, watching it back on replay, it really doesn’t look like her foot ended up going out of bounds. Sabrina’s score should’ve 100% been AT LEAST a 13.800, I thought she was even underscored for her execution as she showed very clean landings, good height and form on her leaps, and showed good artistry as well. Here is the link to her floor routine: czcams.com/video/w0SfIJ0eM_I/video.htmlsi=QAJpV9NErIJDPFPy

Romania didn't get a whole week. They had a problem with changing the scoreboard showing Barbosu on 3rd place. The judges should've refrained from displaying it before the inquiry period was over. The other gymnast (Voinea) was wrongfuly deducted 0.1 points for an error she did not commit, and an appeal was made, but the judges decided to reject her inquiry. Had they accepted it, she could have finished in 3rd place with 13.800, ahead of Chiles' new score (13.766) and Barbosu (13.700). There was no explanation given and I still don't understand why the court maintained this decision. If they claim Voinea's inquiry came too late, then so and Chiles', in which case the new decision is correct. However, regardless of technicalities, they did all 3 gymnasts wrong and the common sense solution was to give all of them the bronze medal, which Romania requested. However, the court decided to fudge up even more and, as I said, even the new decision seem correct, it's far away from being the best one. And I agree with you: those judges should be permanently banned from any competition and the rules have to change to avoid this kind of situation in the future.

Also people saying Chiles didn’t deserve the bronze, but her start value was lowered by a tenth. Ana won the bronze because the judges messed up Jordan’s score, she should’ve never been fifth to begin with if they just did it right! This is all on these judges, you CANNOT make mistakes in a sport like this! These athletes work too hard for this bs to happen!

This is so sad. I feel for Jordan and the other two Romanian gymnast. This is all the judges, however the hate is even worse. People are so cruel and mean. The Romanians have forgotten that they used to rule gymnastics as well as Russia. I remember a time when there would be 3 Romanians on the podium. How easy it is to forget that they once were in the top spot. USA has been great for many years but so were other countries in the past. So sad people have to blame this on USA favoritism. absolutely disgusting by the judges and especially the IOC! Jordan rightfully earned her medal because had the judges scored properly the first time, Jordan would've earned the medal. the games should be a venue focused on celebrating the BEST gymnasts, not a place where athletes have to worry about whether or not the judges have done their job correctly. to be stripped of a medal unrightfully over a 4 second delay is infuriating and the IOC should be held accountable for their appalling actions. give both girls the medals, even though Jordan performed a better score and earned the bronze more so than even barbosu

The fair ruling had Chiles on 5th, either way with the upper score or lower, USA tried to steal the honest history and they should be punished for their looting abilitites, that's what they are good at, only stealing. The only reason Chiles was on bronze was that Romanians were treated with injustice 2 times in a row. It isn't a joke for them. This is unprofessionalism at it's best, I can assure you that some people might not take the Olympics seriously after this fiasco. I could say Oscar's and other ceremonies have done this, BUT THIS IS THE OLYMPICS, NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS. Shame on the committee for putting both athletes through such an uncomfortable and distressful situation. None of them deserve this 💔😔 In my opinion, the judges who accounted for the points should be suspended from their positions until further notice or just permanently. I can assure you that half of that judging pannel can't do half the things these girls do on the apparatuses. They aren't being neither considerated nor respectful to the sport or the atheletes.
