I have several Ryobi tools, both corded and cordless. Never had a problem with them. My 1/4" impact driver (blue). Fell from a 6' ladder and still works today. That was around 6 years ago.
My son in law is an electrician and he has burned up DeWalt drills and drivers.

This is great to hear. I have always wondered about how long Ryobi tools last. Sounds like yours is still going strong!

I love my Ryobi tools, but I like the dust collection on this router. I have an older model that did not have the dust collection, I may have to go buy a new tool soon.

Bits that have a quarter inch chunk works great for me. I knew exactly what you meant! Quarter inch chuck is just as easy to comprehend but quarter inch shaft just sounds perverted 😂 thanks for the review. Very informative

The newer version (which you got) is a great little router for small jobs. Get an HP battery on there and it really screams through material.

Could have saved some money and just bought the router kit that comes with a 4ah battery and a charger.

Check ur title... it says "before you but" instead of "before you buy"🤔🤔... is that intentional?

be careful when buying a ryobi palm router ........the collar sticks and is hard to remove. check it at the store before buying.
i bought one and the collar WOULD NOT come off. --even the men at the store could not get it off except to stand on it and pull up!!!!!
as i was exchanging it for a second one a lady who had bought one previously said they were notorious for the collar being very hard to remove.

This router is a steaming pile of hot garbage! And this comes from someone who has an entire tool set of Ryobi stuff. My other Ryobi tools I love, but after having this router for only a year and using it less than a handful of times, it started to fail. And by fail I mean it would suddenly plunge deeper in a cut. So I went back to the handbook and made sure I was setting everything correctly, and I was. What I realized was the pertinent piece that travels up and down the depth shaft is plastic. It needs to be metal. This is what is preventing mine from not having this failure. I know these are cheap and this might prohibit Ryobi from making this component metal, but it there ever was a component on this router that needs to be metal in order to have it work properly, this is the one. I'm currently look for a replacement router OUTSIDE the Ryobi family.

I have not had this problem yet, but I can see it happening. I love my colt palm router from Bosch!
