Fitting the ultimate audio upgrade into our Land Rover Defender

One of the hardest things to fit into a Defender is an audio system you can actually hear, let alone enjoy. But we've done it. Working with professional installers, LRparts .net have put together a superb package to offer clear, crisp and above all loud sound. Kicker Sub, Morrel speakers and a state of the art wavtech amp all wrapped up in Dynamat. We fit the whole kit into our Defender and rock out with our sockets out!

interesting speaker choice for the fronts , not many things fit in with the mount being so shallow , even with spacers its not a huge space. The point source thing becomes a tad academic when the whole thing is at knee level pointing towards the floor , but no harm anyways.

Is it worth reinforcing the rear door cards to make them more rigid and less inclined to bounce with the sound ?

Possibly if you've lost a few fixing points but the card hold pretty well if everything is there.

What was the cost of all that (Parts & Labor) if you don't mind me asking?

We fitted it ourselves, pretty easy just a bot time consuming. This kit is around £1350 plus VAT but they start at £749 plus VAT for the two speaker kit without the sub.

I would not fit a amp next to a battery either as if the amp gets hot and they do it could burn into the battery i am not saying it would but could if installing into a crammed space install a cooling fan if i had my way it would be Harmon Karadon or Bose, thanks for the video

How does it handle death metal like obituary or cannibal corpse

We've run some pretty heavy stuff through it. Best part is, the kit comes with a dedicated remote adjuster for the sub so if yits oushing it too hard of the big stuff, you can trim it down for the best sound. If this is the kind of music you listen to alot, you can set up the system to suit and won't need to adjust, except up when you need to!

SACRILEGE ! - How will you hear the heaven-sent glorious sounds of the Defender with musak blurring out? Every Christmas, on our annual journey to see the old folks, we always sing Carols, not canned rubbish!

Ultimate? Nice try, but I added a 1,500W 15" subwoofer and 750W of additional speakers to my Defender 😂
