Which obviously he wasn't coming out as gay, but it could still be seen as a queer allegory. Just like how Sora, who obviously is not trans, is seen as a trans allegory because she changed her name, and cuz her parents keep on calling her by her dead name "Ana"

It would be whole mess if Cole went after Jay cause then the love triangle would reform from season 4( I think) and all the other ninjas have love interests(besides Lloyd). I only just realised the dynamic between Cole and his father are very reminiscent of a person coming out to their parents regarding their sexuality, which I hope was considered as the template of the narrative during those episodes, because it's hilarious, yet heartfelt
I remember one of my friends being really mad about Vania being implied to be Coles love interest, but I pointed out that they actually never seem to be anything other than good friends, which I would prefer to stay that way. There's already plenty of relationships in this series(and media in general) that showcase my sexuality well enough, I don't need more.
