  • On a day trip to Altoona,Pa. I caught few morning moves on the curve and then headed to Rose Tower as the day became cloudy. The first train here is one of the last stock moves I caught on video. At Rose , see if you can figure why the Westbound Trailer Train went in Emergency. Also notice the SD35 as the Pusher on 50+ cars of Ballast.

Old "TV12-M"...... and which looks like a Cross Brothers cattle car on the head end.

How can this video be ten years old? It’s year 2020 and conrail has been gone over 20 years! I’m a bit puzzled?

Refers perhaps when it was uploaded to YT. Not when it was shot.

Good to have things like this. Those Amtrak trains are pitiful.

Quite a bit of ex Pennsy power in this video....that SD45 duo running light, and the SD35 are all ex PRR....on home rails.

meccaturbo Sorry to burst your Pennsylvania bubble. But the 2 light SD45s were EX ERIE LACKAWANNA EL locomotives were unique as to the air horn location was. On the right side of the cab protruding outward. You see I grew up not far from Denville NJ. And we saw all 3 type's of SD locomotives there and other locations. The GEs were different the U33C andU36Cs had there air horns located behind the cab. It all started with the ALCO C425s. Now the SD35 was definitely ex PENNSY! And I believe the switcher may have been. As well.

@@tomok8283 The sd-35 seen as a pusher was ex CNJ, not pennsy
