Rell very much agree with you!!! Duncan is all time great but he had incredible talent around him and an incredible coach and system. Kobe had Phil and Pau. Not even sure Pau is
I have one problem here you recognize the MVP award as the best player in the league award when Shannon says that Kobe has only 1 MVP, then why did James harden win it last year when in earlier videos you’ve said James harden is arguably not in the top 5 players in the league?
You exactly right, he cites lebron having 1 more Finals MVP than Kobe as why he's better yet omits Jordan having more Finals MVPs than Bron when he claims Bron's the GOAT

Think about this, Kobe, in a game, went up to Jordan and asked him how he performed his turnaround fadaway. TMac was having issues the year after he averaged 30ppg because of the zone they were throwing at him. He, on a CZcams video, said he was frustrated and needed help with beating the zone. The first name he asked to get on the phone was Mike. Allen Iverson, in his HOF speech, pretty much summed up what he thought when he saw Mike. Shaq's first time playing against Jordan when he was with Orlando, Jordan dropped 64 on them. I'm 47 years old and most of the things people see and show are after Jordan started winning titles. I've seen him play live when he was just coming into his prime and he was phenomenal. Think about this: in 87-88, he won the DPOY award, had over 100 blocks (1.6 blocks/game) and 200 steals (3.2 steals/game), won the scoring title (35ppg), won the regular season MVP, averaged over 40 mpg while playing all 82 games, shot 53.5% from the field, shot 84% from the line, averaged 5.5 ast and 5.9 rbs, ALL FROM THE 2-SPOT! And this was Pippen and Grant's 1st year in the league (coming off the bench) and Paxson was in his 3rd year. Doug Collins was the head coach, Phil Jackson was one of the assistant coaches (along with Bill McKinney and Tex Winter), and the team went 50-32.
Its impossible to have a GOAT conversation in my view without definining the criteria. What specific critera are you using in your "Goat" definition. Thats a fair question. Some say the GOAT is the most skilled, some say most accolades, some say whoever beat the best competition, some say impact on the game, and there are many other categories. Its difficult to determine a true GOAT without a universally accepted defintion of what the GOAT is. Once defined, it will be much easier.
Even with the list that you named; Mj is at the top or at least top 2. In any measure conceivable to make a greatest of all time list Jordan would be top or top 2 easy. That's what makes him the greatest ATHLETE ever
It is a culmination of things and some extras. You have to nitpick when comparing great players for the title. I most often look at weaknesses first: something that is needed in which you lack severely and it is detrimental to your team.

Kobe Been to more finals in that time and won more. Kobe was robbed of a couple mvps bc of the Colorado case. I’ll give you the defense but Kobe was more skilled offensively. Kobe was never given the opportunity like Duncan when he was a rookie so that was just a joke. and how do you compare a guards fg % to a pf? Duncan plays closer to the rim, so ofc his percentage is higher. And we not gon act like Duncan didn’t have Parker in his prime, ginobili, and hof coach Phil Jackson for all those years in the 2000s, are we? Plus Kobe won with less by his side so, Kobe still the best in the 2000s
if LBJ is GOAT, how come he didn't go to the Finals every single year Shannon? But I guess getting there multiple times and losing qualifies in your mind; he should've been knocking out the Celtics before they got old, should've beaten the Spurs each time, should've beaten the Magic instead of losing to them in the conference finals in a year when he was MVP, his team had the best record, and he had the coach of the year
Judah, your takes are brilliant! I agree, Shannon can't possibly believe the bullshit he's saying. Its just a ratings gimmick. LeBron is a paper superstar. He chooses his roster and how his team will play, why even bother with a coach. Jordan deferred to his genius coach. LeBron has all these assists because the ball is ALWAYS in his hands. Its stupid. Its not efficient. Its about LeBron's ego. To mention LeBron in the same sentence as MJ is blasphemy.
COJ! One of the reasons why I love and (I'm sure others do as well) check with anticipation for your videos is the way you set it up. Is YOUR monologue written, or you just let it rip? Regardless, this particular one was exceptional. I'm serious when I say this. If I had kids in school, I would use your videos as aids. To teach my children on how to talk, use vernacular correctly and enunciation properly. Speaking well, is something that is the result of wanting to be able to communicate with anyone on any level. People (espescially our people) don't seem to have the want or need to speak well and it hurts us on many levels. I hope that someday you will share with us some of your background. Peace

Not only that , but people forget Zlebron in the 2007 finals . He shot 22% from three 35% from the field and 69 % from F/T line
True but they had nobody else to run the offense through. The games were close but that was due to defense. The spurs were the best offensive team and the 3rd best defensive team that system. They were loaded, Cleveland wasn’t even supposed to beat the Pistons that year. Lebron had to carry them
@@ChidorivsRasengan3 NO doubt and its no diss to Lebron....media just tends to be incomplete when they honor Lebron
@@ChidorivsRasengan3 Cleveland swept San Antonio in the regular season. He could have done more. People give him a pass. He had more chance to get one win vs the Spurs than in 2018.
HMMMMMMM! Cleveland's record was 50-32 and I remember many a commentator and sportswriters were stating that Cleveland would win the title until they got spanked. Then shit changed and the excuses came from every angle. They had a good goddamn team and got spanked. END OF STORY!

4:50 Bird also called Michael Jordan the GOAT as a rookie and compared him to Wayne Gretzky during an interview after playing against him and seeing him play in so many games.
Shannon is smart enough to realize he has to play this role inorder to get paid by FS1. If he agrees with Skip who would care to listen. Sad a Hall of Fame Tight End has to resort to this BS just to get a pay check. Where's the Pride Brother
Pretty good Shannon impersonation COJ!
Even down to the Lisp!
The thing about Ali is that he was undersized boxing in the heavyweight division. He lost years of his prime because he refused to go to war. He actually deserves to be considered the greatest ever.
Exactly! People like to forget that truth.
Man I don't think you have a clue on how appreciative I am for coming across your channel brotha, from politics, banking systems, sports, history, personal life issues, man you just consistently keep delivering the goods, you have enlighten me on quite a few things with your great commentary along with your comic relief of " LeShannon Sharpe " absolutely gold brotha keep up the awesome work!👍👍👍
I can't wait to see what you say about skip bayless on Toronto
Tim Duncan was not better than Kobe that is a false statement, also the MVP is decided by the media in which Kobe did not have the best relationship with the media on top of that the incident in Colorado hurt him from getting MVP awards until they absolutely had to give it to him
@Sports Guru yes also he was better than shaq to your point. But also Tim Duncan never was capable to win back to back title.
Rell very much agree with you!!! Duncan is all time great but he had incredible talent around him and an incredible coach and system. Kobe had Phil and Pau. Not even sure Pau is
a hall of fame player

I have one problem here you recognize the MVP award as the best player in the league award when Shannon says that Kobe has only 1 MVP, then why did James harden win it last year when in earlier videos you’ve said James harden is arguably not in the top 5 players in the league?
You exactly right, he cites lebron having 1 more Finals MVP than Kobe as why he's better yet omits Jordan having more Finals MVPs than Bron when he claims Bron's the GOAT
I Love this channel brother, keep doing your thing.
Every basketball fan knows Kobe Bryant was robbed of 2 MVP's smh both of Steve nash's MVP's should be Kobe's
So was Jordan and Shaq. Hell, Kareem got a blessing in 76 when he won it because his team wasn't even over .500. People like to forget about that when trying to place Kareem over Jordan.
Cmon man I agree with most of what u say but Kobe got str8 up robbed of a few MVP's
Robtimus Prime a few??..really
When? Between 2004 and 2007, his teams either didn't make the playoffs or they were a low seed in the playoffs. The MVP is normally awarded to the best player on the best teams in the league. So again, When?
@@anthonyjones634 i get it dude, u right but look at those garbage teams he still got to the playoffs who had no business being there, and at that time he was clearly the best player in the league by far...and the rape allegatuib sure didnt help his case.

Well shaq is top 10. And only 1 regular season mvp. And shaq is over duncan as well who has more mvps than him

Shannon it’s not hard to separate the Mj brand from the player because mj the player made mj the brand not the other way around 🙄
I'm in the 90's growing up we watch the early 2000's at most. So tmac, Kobe, AI, shaq,
Think about this, Kobe, in a game, went up to Jordan and asked him how he performed his turnaround fadaway.
Nope still easy its MJ
No such thing as true GOAT and its everything combined mixed with its era
Even with the list that you named; Mj is at the top or at least top 2. In any measure conceivable to make a greatest of all time list Jordan would be top or top 2 easy. That's what makes him the greatest ATHLETE ever
It is a culmination of things and some extras. You have to nitpick when comparing great players for the title. I most often look at weaknesses first: something that is needed in which you lack severely and it is detrimental to your team.
Welcome back bro I’ve been waiting lol let’s get it 💯
Yes , skip has been telling the truth about Lebron 👌👌👌
Skip has been saying this the whole time after all of these years

Chirs Lane lets not also forget in his last 2 finals, he had kawhi Leonard and David Robinson in the beginning
if LBJ is GOAT, how come he didn't go to the Finals every single year Shannon? But I guess getting there multiple times and losing qualifies in your mind; he should've been knocking out the Celtics before they got old, should've beaten the Spurs each time, should've beaten the Magic instead of losing to them in the conference finals in a year when he was MVP, his team had the best record, and he had the coach of the year
I also like the Air Zoom Uptempo that said AIR on the side that Pippen used to wear. Those Chris Webber shoes were nice as well.
Peace

Shannon needs to take a big pill, and get over Michael Jordan rejecting him whenever. The way he goes on, you have to know that must have happened. Shannon probably tried to pal around with Jordan, and got rejected.

@@brandayjones4911Dont throw me efficiency/proficiency #s by trying to compare a perimeter player to a post player. MJ also got his butt kicked by bird and Isaiah and no one's debating whose better between those players. Nash and Dirk are not even in the top 10 discussion Duncan is so I'm directly comparing those 2 head to head stop with that elementary response. Duncan came into the league as a pro level player (4 years college) Kobe came in at 17 going on 18 Besides Kobe was part of a 3peat and 2peat . Duncan has never repeated. And you better not say Kobe had Shaq cuz Parker & Kawhi have won finals MVP while Duncan was still the best player in the floor in 2007 (Parker) centers jobs are to "defend" the rim and rebound. Kobe is a guard and amoungst the best defenders for a position that "ISNT ABOUT DEFENSE" 12 to 15 think about this. Kobe is one of the greatest scorers of all time. So 12years he played both ends of the floor at the highest level. Kobe has a bigger impact on the outcome of a game just look how Kobe destroyed Duncan's spurs in 2008

Jordan’s Washington years are underrated. 21 pts, 5 rebs 5 assists. That’s a Paul pierce all star year.
The reason they underrate those years is because Jordan wasn't able to perform as he once did. They overlook his age and health. A lot of people nowadays like to bring his stats from that time-period to tryn trivialize his legacy.
I wonder how much Lebron pays Shannon 😂
