Totally correct, today's sports media has to make up narratives to keep the youngsters involved, The NBA is in a sad state, its a shell of what it was in the 80s and 90s. Everyone knows this, but Millennials don't want to hear it. They are sold on Hardin as a superstar, which is laughable. I would love to see Laimbeer flip Hardin on his head.

MJ played 15 seasons, 2 seasons were in Washington, so that's 13, 2 of those 13 seasons MJ played for a combined 35 games due to injury and coming in late in the season, so that's 11. In 11 full seasons with the Bulls MJ won:
    6 rings
    6 Finals MVP
    5 seasons MVPs
    1 DPOY
    10 Scoring Titles
    3 Steals titles
    10 All NBA selections
    1 All NBA second selection
    9 All-Defensive 1st team selections
1 Rookie of the Year award
    1 All-Rookie first-team selection
MJ won 53 accolades which include 6 rings and 6 Finals MVPs. The first 11 years LeBron played in the league he only won 27 accolades which include rings and Finals MVPs. Take the last 11 years of LeBron's career and he has 27 accolades. MJ's 13 years with 2 very short seasons included is better than LeBron's 17 seasons in the league by far. There is no comparison. LeBron has had 13 seasons to do more than MJ and in that span, he has come up short. He created 2 superteams and still couldn't get it done or come close to what MJ accomplished. He is now in his 17th season and outside of winning a ring and Finals MVP he has just had All-NBA selections lol that's it.

It's still silly that LeBron claims after they beat the Warriors he knew he was the "GOAT" given that fact that he wasn't the one who made the go-ahead shot and he missed a free throw in the following possession. How does someone else hitting a clutch shot make you the "GOAT"?

Looking at his averages 2 years before and 3 years after his retirement, minus the few games in 94-95, he would have, at least, another 4900 points added onto his total as far as regular season is concerned. That would have put him at 37,192 points total. And say they would've brought the team back in 98-99, that would be another 2200 points, at least. So we are talking about 39,392 points for his career. Along with at least 2 more titles, no one comes close!

Think about this, Kobe, in a game, went up to Jordan and asked him how he performed his turnaround fadaway. TMac was having issues the year after he averaged 30ppg because of the zone they were throwing at him. He, on a CZcams video, said he was frustrated and needed help with beating the zone. The first name he asked to get on the phone was Mike. Allen Iverson, in his HOF speech, pretty much summed up what he thought when he saw Mike. Shaq's first time playing against Jordan when he was with Orlando, Jordan dropped 64 on them.
I'm 47 years old and most of the things people see and show are after Jordan started winning titles. I've seen him play live when he was just coming into his prime and he was phenomenal. Think about this: in 87-88, he won the DPOY award, had over 100 blocks (1.6 blocks/game) and 200 steals (3.2 steals/game), won the scoring title (35ppg), won the regular season MVP, averaged over 40 mpg while playing all 82 games, shot 53.5% from the field, shot 84% from the line, averaged 5.5 ast and 5.9 rbs, ALL FROM THE 2-SPOT! And this was Pippen and Grant's 1st year in the league (coming off the bench) and Paxson was in his 3rd year. Doug Collins was the head coach, Phil Jackson was one of the assistant coaches (along with Bill McKinney and Tex Winter), and the team went 50-32.

Its impossible to have a GOAT conversation in my view without definining the criteria. What specific critera are you using in your "Goat" definition. Thats a fair question. Some say the GOAT is the most skilled, some say most accolades, some say whoever beat the best competition, some say impact on the game, and there are many other categories. Its difficult to determine a true GOAT without a universally accepted defintion of what the GOAT is. Once defined, it will be much easier.

Kobe was never given the opportunity like Duncan when he was a rookie so that was just a joke. and how do you compare a guards fg % to a pf? Duncan plays closer to the rim, so ofc his percentage is higher. And we not gon act like Duncan didn’t have Parker in his prime, ginobili, and hof coach Phil Jackson for all those years in the 2000s, are we? Its not efficient. Its about LeBron's ego. To mention LeBron in the same sentence as MJ is blasphemy.

MJ also got his butt kicked by bird and Isaiah and no one's debating whose better between those players. Nash and Dirk are not even in the top 10 discussion Duncan is so I'm directly comparing those 2 head to head stop with that elementary response. Duncan came into the league as a pro level player (4 years college) Kobe came in at 17 going on 18 Besides Kobe was part of a 3peat and 2peat . Duncan has never repeated. And you better not say Kobe had Shaq cuz Parker & Kawhi have won finals MVP while Duncan was still the best player in the floor in 2007 (Parker) centers jobs are to "defend" the rim and rebound. Kobe is a guard and amoungst the best defenders for a position that "ISNT ABOUT DEFENSE" 12 to 15 think about this. Kobe is one of the greatest scorers of all time. So 12years he played both ends of the floor at the highest level. Kobe has a bigger impact on the outcome of a game just look how Kobe destroyed Duncan's spurs in 2008
