How to transfer a picture on canvas without graphite/carbon paper

It is always a challenge to transfer a picture on canvas in the same ratio and proportion. If we do it with the grid system, it is not always possible that it will come exactly the same. extra tip, one's tracing paper might slip, so maybe fix it in position with a little tape here and there.
