Chad Kroger of Nickelback says he can't sign Vinyl Records anymore at Canada Walk of Fame. Dec 2023

The reason he gave was that he and the band are selling their own signed records so he can't sign vinyl records for fans at events now.

Met the guy like 10Xs over the years, and just this summer met him again & it was the first time he picked & chose what to sign. I had about 8 photos, and he would only sign 6 of them, and said he wouldnt sign ones he "didnt like". Weird he wouldnt sign vinyls, thats usually the 1st thing musicians will sign, since that & tour programs are the only thing they make any money off that people can get signed.

Buying merch at a show is the only real way to directly support musicians now. Spotify has a monopoly on music streaming and has all but eliminated any profit for bands.

Taylor Swift made a billion dollars from her concert sales so buying tickets to the shows are a good way to support. Also people who buy their vinyl and cd’s are supporting more than those just listening to Spotify.

@@HollywoodNorthUpdate Agree, ticket sales and physical media but the labels take their cuts of that. Often the merch at shows are funded by the bands themselves so they get more from that.
