My 2 year old son got diagnosed with autism today. I already new in my heart that he had it but it was confirmed today. He did all the same kind of things as your little girl, face covering with pillows and blankets, tip toeing, saying mama and dada age one then completely stopped talking all together, zones out and will not answer to his name or look me in the eye. His sleep pattern was dreadful too and would wake up at 3am every night till about 6/7am before going back to sleep. But the fact that your daughter points at things she wants is definitely a really good sign. The doctors today are amazing and autism is so common they know what steps to take to get our little ones back on track as much as they can. Stay strong and try not to worry as your little girl has been diagnosed at such a young age, she will get the right help. Thank you for sharing your story and helping us parents to see the signs and educating us. Big hug to u. Xxxx
. Ps I cant believe u have 4 kids....u look so young and pretty and your doing a brilliant job. 🥰

Aww thank you so much 🥰 I know the first thing I did was google and CZcams and watch as many videos as I could find so it’s great you can relate. So happy you got your diagnosis and plenty of time before he starts school ❤️

I stumbled across this because I am worried about some behaviours of my 2 year old daughter.. she is very similar to your little girl but also as 2 is so young I know exactly what you mean when you're just so unsure.. this really helped me thank you :)

Glad that this helped 😊 Its so hard when not alot can be done right now and its a case of waiting and wondering which can drive you insane! I have learnt to stop using google and just accept the wait and what will be will be 🙂 Good luck on your journey 💕

Hi Kirsty!. I have a little girl who is 2yrs 8 months who is just about to be diagnosed with Autism. We started on the pathway at 18 months. She has no speech and very little understanding of words, no pointing, no gestures, unable to copy any action, low eye contact, doesnt respond to name, lots of rocking and hand flapping. She is the youngest of 4 and a joy. I know you're early in you're journey and you have lovely little girl there!. I would say at one point in the video you call her name quite a few times and ask her to look at you. Eye contact can be hard and even upsetting for autistic children and in general its usually encouraged in other ways or not at all, as autistic children find it overwhelming. Id highly recommend a youtube channel called nurturing neurodiversity and there is a f.b group of the same name. We are all lovely there and super supportive. No question is silly, no judgement of any kind. Would be lovely to see you there! x

Glad to run through this video, my daughter is now 1 yr and 6 months. They have the same trait and she's also afraid of other people and frequently watching cocomelon. I am also worried that she might have ASD. May i ask if evie is now talking?

    • @KirstyLouiseYabsley

She says Mama and she says Nye (Skye) if I ask her to say banana she will say nana that’s it for now 🙂

I don’t have children but I do have autism and she has a lot of the classic signs for a child, it’s worth noting that ‘symptoms’ of autism vary a lot between genders. I wish you the best of luck in getting to the bottom of this!

My little girl is called Evie too :) she’s 2 years and 5 months now and still no speech she will try pronounce a word or two at times otherwise she would just hum to it most of the time. She’s been to baby babble when she was a baby as I was worried she wasn’t babbling as much, then to toddler talk too. She has portage on board now to help her come on also been referred to speech and language still waiting to see them hopefully soon as it’s been over a year now as I was concerned with her development over a year ago. She also flaps hands, spins wheels, lines things up and likes to constantly rock her head back and forth on the sofa if not she likes to bang it which I don’t like her doing :( it’s only her speech and language that’s holding her back she knows all her numbers, shapes, letters etc as she can point to them just frustrating when I don’t no what she wants as I just give it her. She doesn’t respond to her name too she only looks round if your counting numbers or saying something that she enjoys doing 🙈 I am worried at times that she has it as her dad has it I only worry as they may diagnose her too late cause they just waiting till she starts nursery next year to see if she’s improved so for now we are getting her support she needs and hopefully she will come on in time :) she’s a happy child and that’s all what counts xx

Yes as long as there happy 😊 My Evie is getting a little more frustrated now she’s 3 years 3 months and it is a worry with school and getting things in place I just had to apply for primary school! We are finally having her assessed the end of this month. Corona sure made things a lot longer than they already were but moving in the right direction now. My Evie is the same she points knows her colours be nice to know what the professionals think 🤔 good luck with your journey I hope it doesn’t take too long ❤️

😳 Wow you literally just described my 2 year old son to the T. That’s scary. Lol The only thing he doesn’t do is line up toys. He got diagnosed with moderate autism a couple days ago so I’m just trying to wrap my head around it. I always knew but I’m glad I went to get him checked out for myself. How is your daughter acting now a days?

    • @KirstyLouiseYabsley

@@tinyking11 well done on getting an early diagnosis it will help with school and them being aware.
Evie-Mai Is 4 and about to start her first day at mainstream school today. She got accepted for a EHCP which came just in time. Evie was diagnosed as Autistic and she also has a genetics disorder 16p112 micro deletion. Evie is still not speaking but is using makaton to help communicate and is excited for school 😊 she’s a happy lovely little girl.

I have a son who was two in August and your video is so similar to my child. I think my son has ASD but we are right at the beginning of having him looked at so I could be wrong.
The things your daughter does in your video are so similar to my son. He is obsessed with Little Baby Bum too lol! Xx

Hi kirsty, are you going to do more updates on Evie in seperate video? What I seen the videos are defiantly signs of Autism for sure. I just recently got diagnoised with level 1 Autism at age 27. Look up videos on autism in girls to because sometimes it can present a little different in girls but us girls can also have male stereotype traits to. Girls mask the autism better than the males that can be why we get diagnoised later than the males etc.

    • @KirstyLouiseYabsley
      @KirstyLouiseYabsley  Před 3 lety +1

Yes I will do an update it’s been a bit crazy with Corona! Evie still hasn’t been seen by an actually person just telephone calls. So I was waiting for that first hopefully soon, she will be 3 in a week.
It must feel great to finally have a diagnosis ❤️ It’s so interesting about the masking I feel like my 5year old does this

@@KirstyLouiseYabsley your daugther hasent been seen by anyone yet oh ok, hopefully your daugther get seen to soon and happy bday for next week. ya it feels great to finaly have a diagnosis. Ya us girls on the spectrum tend to mask more than male counter parts. We wanted to fit in a bit more I guess, I never mask at home. sometimes in public iv started to unmask a little. 💕

I am in the same boat but I have been with early intervention since the doctor recommended it for him at 17months old but a lot of what your saying is my son besides walking on tippy toes and he doesn’t point to often but does try to say a few words when we ask him but of course we don’t get the words half the time I will find out in a few months at his next evolution his early intervention teachers feel I should not miss that doctors appointment which I will sure be there

That’s great that they recognised and they are helping you! How old is your son now?
We haven’t even had a 2 year review and Evie will be 3 in June! I’m guessing it’s because of COVID. I recently went through it with my eldest so luckily I knew I had to do something, I messaged for help and now she’s on all the right waiting lists to be seen. Good luck with you appointment hope you get all the help you need :)
