Love the Cult. Just saw them live Sept 18th 2022 for the 6th time. First live concert was in 1986. Very underrated band. Still great. Love Billy's 🎸 and Ian's vocals and tambourine skills. God bless you. 💗➕💗🕶
Duffy's great and still is one of my fav guitar players- and that image he had back in the day was pretty cool, a cross between Billy Idol and Boris Karloff
Fantastic band saw them as southern death cult and then cult. Loved Ian beautiful long Apache hair and he really was a true rock god like Morrison etc before him. Loved all their albums and single I had in 80’s.
Billy. One of my fave guitar players, he’s a solid wall of sound.. and I loved the flamboyant Ian.. I honestly thought he was gay when I first saw him.. a beautiful boy
I remember this at the time and it blew me away and led to my band covering ''Phoenix". Ian Astbury's fantastic stage presence and Billy Duffy's incredible guitar sound, playing that beautiful Gretsch. They had a great look then too - dark psychedelic gothy look. Shame they went and ruined it by trying to become a third rate Guns'n'Roses...
Tom: Too bloody right. When one considers what might have been... what a load of wasted potential. I really don't understand it, as both men are erudite, intelligent individuals. Ho hum. At least there's still the first two Cult LPs, the Death Cult EPs and (although it was a different band) the Southern Death Cult material left to enjoy time and again.
@@Metalrails Dude, you obviously don't know your facts. This track came out in July and August 1985. on the Cult's Love album (The Cult (formed in 1983) Gun's and Rose's didn't pop until 2 years later, July 21, 1987 : Appetite for Destruction. Guns N' Roses' debut album Appetite for Destruction was released July 21, 1987.
@@RavenStealstheNight I never said it didn't come out in 1985? I said it has a G&R sound, that's all. Even though they made the song before G&R went big. Thanks for your trolling trove of facts anyhow.

Les Warner was such a crappy drummer, especially compared to Nigel Preston, but despite that they still rock like English psychedelia should. If you wanna be reminded how great Preston was, check out "Resurrection Joe" live on Whistle Test. Or any of the Lyceum film.
One of the best rock songs ever, the guitar is just totaly off this planet, Billy is a martian from planet Gwwaaaarrrr
It's essentially I wanna be your dog by the Stooges with a wah wah peddle.

Saw them in concert in 1990. This song live is indescribable. Ian is one of the best lead singers I have seen.
Love The Cult and The Love album is my all time favourite album, fantastic guitar work by Billy Duffy ...

We need to party together!!
Was blown away when i first heard this track back in the 80s
greatest cult song EVER
"Like a kiss from the lips of Ra that burns on..."
One of the most influential bands ever. Without these guys many bands wouldn't have broken through. Including Nirvana.
Sad they went to agressive rock of the late 80's which Kurt Cobain hated.
Duffy's great and still is one of my fav guitar players- and that image he had back in the day was pretty cool, a cross between Billy Idol and Boris Karloff
Saw them open for Billy Idol in '86
actually it was Sat
May 2, 1987
Thank you! This is my favorite song from them. This is amazing! 🤘🗿🤘
I remember when I heard this song for the first time in the Love album...electrifying! Has been my favorite Cult song ever since!
Billy Duffy is bad ass. He makes this song so witchy.
I always liked The Cult. Billy and Ian were a really good tandem.
Jamie Stewart is well recognized, and praised
That beautiful thick wall of guitar sound! They were great!
I've never heard anything since the Love album guitar wise so transcending and mystical. Just wild playing
Fantastic band saw them as southern death cult and then cult. Loved Ian beautiful long Apache hair and he really was a true rock god like Morrison etc before him. Loved all their albums and single I had in 80’s.
That fire is spreading.

Nigel was the Cult
Love them. But this sucks and not as exciting when they play in front of 15 people.
Hilarious. 5 minutes of guitar w****. The bloke's ego must be completely out of control.
