- I am beyond excited to publish this "Day in the life of a baker", Denmark edition, as the experience I've had - surpassed my expectations. I got to learn new things, but the hospitality of the bakery (Andersen & Maillard) and the people working there made my mornings fly by so fast.
Enjoy this PART1, but remind you, that the second part will reach my channel soon!

Thank you for showing your work😍
You are so sweet! Thank you my ❤️☺️🙏
I go to this bakery on a weekly basis. Absolute terrific bakery. Great job!
Really! Amazing to hear this! Would love to come back as a customer again:)
So cool to see how each country has their own 'standard assortment' of pastries :) Very nice shoot Kris!
Hi Ferenc! Long time no see! hope you are doing well :)
My pleasure to share my kitchen adventures, hope to see you in the part2😇 thank you!
Andersen & Maillard is one of my fav bakeries in the city, the one in Nordhavn is even better than in Nørrebro, because it is just right by the water. Love their coffee croissant!
yes exactly, I loved watching people just going with their bathrobes and slippers straight from the flat and jumping into water, so so cool! 😃 in general loved how people are chilled in Denmark, it also made me feel close to my roots and home - food, weather, nature... left heartbroken.
happy to hear you love their work, I loved it too!☺️ thanks for your comment!
Another great and interesting video. Thanks. And thank you for your hard work. Make me appreciate our favorite French bakery even more.
Hello Ilana, thank you so much, i am really glad you like it☺️

Hi Kriz! Wow.... Another amazing video ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Hey! Thank you for watching! Appreciate it!☺️ see you in the next one :)
3.30am is already saying how hard worker you are! 🧑🍳 Very impressive this vlog and people in that bakery seemed to be super cool, open minded and pleasant to work with. Super nice environment and I’m sure bakers/chefs will appreciate this amount of work and value you’re sharing for free with not just them but with the world! Keep up the great work 🙏
Yes, it was not easy days, I am not gonna lie because I took working holidays, so just finished my shifts and flew to Copenhagen, however, it was so totally worth it. When we know why we do what we do - it gets million times easier and honestly it was a pure pleasure to spend some time with the team, their willingness to share everything stunned me, I wish more people were like them.
Thank you for you €🖤, appreciate it a lot :)
And I assume you get up and make her coffee... right?

A great treat with a cup of coffee/espresso/tea in the morning, especially in the winter.
Hey! Thanks a lot!:)
I also think it’s interesting to show things from the inside before customers enter the bakery :)
Love the detailed explanation and graphic, very nice to watch for someone like me interested in pastries! The custard one looks heavenly😍😍😍
Hey! Thank you! Yes I am trying to show things so everyone can understand the flow and besides that sometimes little details have a lot of value, i see it myself when I watch other people’s work :)

This is my dream life. I know everything is not roses and rainbows, and being a baker itself has its sacrifices (very early hours etc.). But baking and Denmark... this is the life I want. I just have no idea how to get there.
Lovely video. Thank you for showing us a glimpse into what being a baker in Denmark entails.
Hello, yes indeed it is not lilies and roses, a lot of things going on, the most important rule is at least try to look after yourself 😇 but when you do your job from passion sometimes you forget this ☺️ lovely comment, thank you so much!
Beautiful Video Kris👌. I honestly couldn't choose a favorite pastry in this one as they are ALL incredible!! The Charcoal Cubes i have Never seen before... is it Black food Colouring? Thanks So Much for sharing. Looking forward to part 2. Have a Great Week ahead ☘🥰.

That black cube bread looks so cute!! Everything looks so yummy! I was wondering, do you bakers taste your pastries every day? If I was working in a bakery I'd probably gain weight just tasting all that 😂

Hello, thank you so much! totally agree about the job, can be hard sometimes but when you love it - it makes everything easier :)
yes of course you may ask - I use my little camera SONY ZV1, GO PRO & IPHONE. I am trying to use the smallest devices so I don't need to worry about the equipment so I can focus on work. 👩🍳

Wow❤ Nice Dough Sheeter
yes🙌🏻 would love to have one like this 😁
Hi Kris, I have been watching your videos for a long time now as I find them very interesting. I am a cook who always wanted to be a baker... Selftaught I now make and sell organic sourdough bread, sourdough croissants and danish pastries. The different breads and laminated dough I developed myself after a lot of try outs, until I was happy with the results. I wanted to ask how long does the crispiness of those croissants and danish that we see in the videos last? Mine tend to soften by the next day and warming them up does the trick.
Hello, thank you for you comment! honestly happy to meet people who have been following me for a long time, thanks for your loyalty ☺️
talking about pastries next day, they never taste nice, normally they are sold for one day only, even at the end of day they get already a bit hard. So it's normal that they get not very nice. 🙃

Hey Kristina, not sure if you've answered this question before, but just like to know how you apply for bakery jobs in these different countries and how long do you usually stay in one? Thank you. Love all your baking adventure videos. :)
Hey! Thanks very much for joining my baking journey here on youtube:)
So I find places I like and start communicating with them, some places say no, some yes, some never answer 😀 also helps my bakers-friends as we all keep an eye on the industry:)
nice!
thank you! :)
from the looks my favourite is the chocolate bun. it looks so elegant :) though I didn't understand, how you managed to only glaze the chocolate parts? :)
It was really really good, light and rich at the same time :)
What I meant with glazing was that we don’t put too much glazing on the whole bun, there is no needd, the goal is to make the chocolate part more shiny:)
Muito bom!

I’ve watched your videos and i love it. Can i ask why you always changing location? Keep baking wonderfull breads☺️

Birkabulle is fantastic when it comes from a good bakery
Birkabulle is the same as tebirkes?
Yes that's what it's called around Helsingborg (other side of the ferry from Helsingør). Usually it has almond paste filling. But can also have the sugar&butter filling. @KrisKazlauskaite
Oh we don’t have spandeuer, terberkias, and cube croissant here in the states. I have to ship myself to Copenhagen next time.

which kind of mold are the caneles baked? i saw bakeries using copper, but other using carbon steel; nice video btw!
Hello Claudio, you will see in the next video (part2), but yes the metal ones are super expensive so many bakeries go for more simple options like silicone moulds. Thank you so much! :)

Hoping you or someone can answer this question for me. The danish pastries use frozen custard in the video, everywhere I read online it says do not freeze custard. Is there anything you do to make it freezeable or is it one of those old myths and reality is you can freeze custard fine?
I wouldn't freeze and purpose it for an immediate use, it's ok to freeze (make shapes for example) and then bake it. 😇
This place has the best croissants in Scandinavia. All other places are too oily. This place fluffy, just like the best places in France.
really really good indeed!😇
Hello, what do you put in the middle of Spandeur? Cheese? What kind?
hey, that's frozen custard, it's sweet 😊 but go ahead and put some cheese, it can be savoury too!

Love ur content!! I have plenty of questions but I really would like to know.... How do u get in contact with all those bakery?? Do U get paid enough for living in every country u go? Would u loke to have ur own bakery? How do u do with health insurance ??
Hello, I am happy you have questions actually, so it means you are interested into the content 😁
To be honest I just approach bakeries and ask If i can do a working experience, some say "yes" some - "no", that's normal. I also connect to people and eventually if they want they help me too. One thing though, these experiences are self paid, you don't get paid plus you pay your travel expenses.
My bakery? I will definitely create something where I could share more things with the world, if you keep following me you will see some changes :))
Health insurance? I am covered in Europe so no issues. :)
