    Amazing demonstration of casting faults and what can go wrong. There are almost no videos as clear and helpful as this! It takes real awareness to actively trigger some of these more subtle faults on command - excellent job on all fronts!

    Nice job. Ive been casting flyrods for almost 65 years. I had one lesson swinging wet flies. The rest I figured out on my own. Do I still make poor casts? Sure, Do the fish care? Not very much. The idea is to have fun. Definition of expert

    I'm confused about that six steps method, e.g. there is more than one cause for tailing loop. How do I as inexperienced caster tell which one I have to fix. It's obvious for you because you intentionally make it happen but there is no straight way from consequences back to a reason.

    • @WideOpenOutdoorFilm
      @WideOpenOutdoorFilm  Před rokem

      May I suggest that you watch the whole movies 1 and 2 several times:
      czcams.com/video/oeaYk32MprI/video.html
      czcams.com/video/fdy517rNLIs/video.html
      And better, join an experienced fly caster.

    • @WideOpenOutdoorFilm
      @WideOpenOutdoorFilm  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You are right, but if you watch both full length videos - Casting that Fly 1 & 2 - you will see Lars telling that you always need to wear glasses, but in this instruction video, there is not a hook tied to the leader. And the camera man don't like people talking directly to the camera through sunglasses 😊
