TAILGATERS is a series that spotlights the people, parties, and food culture at storied schools across America. Each school brings its own distinct flavor and flair to this time-honored tradition. Before every college game, rain or shine, crowds gather to live out their dreams, celebrate as if there's no tomorrow, share incredible food, and embrace the traditions that unite them.

I agree that Ann Arbor is a super friendly town. Expensive, but friendly.
Expensive for people that sign up to pay to live
This is one of my bucket lists things before I die to go to a Michigan game at the big house go Blue
I was lucky enough to do it in 2014.
Under the lights vs Penn St. Was absolutely indescribable!
I hope you are able to do it. It’s something you can’t fully explain, just gotta be there to understand it. And the tailgating is outstanding as well.
Go Blue!
Incredible atmosphere. Go blue !
This feels like a commercial
So corny
I mean Vice has been hurting.....
Nothing like a Michigan Tailgate, Go Blue!!!!!
WIDESPREAD PANIC!
is this just a commercial for some gross drink?
There's something you need to understand about tailgate hosts like these. Each of these "regular guys who just love football" make six figures or more a year.
They have huge power in their communities and these tailgates to hang out are essentially free-mason keggers.
It's not to say they're bad people; they truly want to have a good time, and if you can get in with guys like this somehow, it can be a good time. Just be prepared for the disillusion when you realize they are typically elitists who would rather spend $1000 on a custom cornhole set than pay $50 dollars more on their taxes.
Envy
Freemasons are disgusting. Yes, absolutely that's who these self indulgenct alcoholics are
As someone from Indiana, Michigan University tailgating is so legendary that you learn about it across state lines. First, via its urban legend status passed down through word of mouth. Second, you eventually witness Michigan University Alumni party/tailgate firsthand. And, it’s glorious chaos.
They’ve really cleaned up their act, and go way less hard than they used to go since my days of witnessing it between 2004-2008. (This is a good thing. Good for them.)
Thanks, but it’s University of Michigan!
very informational!!!
Ive always dreamed of experiencing something like this, a party in the park.
