🚨Important 🚨 This farm was made using regular boars, if you have 2 star boars use my wolf farm instead and it will work. Farm here: czcams.com/video/4m2E6SCvzTo/video.html
What are the changes needed to make it compatible with 2 star boars? It's not working in ashlands update.
@@azlum000did you find out?
Another IMPORTANT note is you still have to put down the Double floor like he does in the Boar video for the 2 star Boars or they will still not be tall enough for the Wolf design
wow, the smoke slaughter device is brilliant.
I just made this and here is a tip. The part where he angles some walls as anchors for the real walls that hold the boars in is more important than he lets on in the video. If you just attach walls to the 2x2s, there will not be enough room for the 2 boars to both stick their heads out to eat. One will be pushed to the back and will remain hungry and then they wont breed.
Never ever did automatic farms since Valheim launch, but I like your idea, definitely will try this ☺️
Thank you 😁
This doesn't seem to work anymore in the Ashlands update. Even with the extra piece destroyed on the opposite end. It seems as if the baby boars have the same size hitbox now. If I fix it to not kill the babies, then they grow up to adult and don't take damage from the smoke.
Great idea and video :)
Anyone else have the problem where everything works but the piglets never seem to grow?
Can someone help? I had it running smooth for about 15 piglets, now my breeding adult pigs are Tame, Hungry and I keep picking their food up and throwing it back at them and they are not eating. They do an animation that looks like eating but they aren't. They are not happy so they wont breed more.
With the latest public test patch, the smoke does not reliably kill 2* boars or wolves and sometimes kills the cubs/piggies.
Ah I see what's happening here, whenever a creature goes up a star their size also increases by 10%, my farms weren't tested on creatures that are 1 star or above
So 1 and 2 star pig and wolf auto farms won't work?
I haven't tested with this exact build, we would need to make some changes to accommodate the increase in size. I'll look into it when I have some time. According to the first comment 1 star's seem to be fine
It works on 1* boars. Haven't tried it with 2*. Has anyone tried removing the extra floor-boards in the smoke area that raise them up a few inches?
My adult boar fell into the hole when I lead him up, now he’s stuck?
Not sure why it's not working for other people but I did this following these plans and it's working fine for me.
(Most current update as of 05/22/2024; Ashlands)
Seems like a few people are having update with unlimated farms since update. Glad I'm not the only one.
Which one should I use for 1 star boars?
For some reason, my little pigs die before they become adult and I don't know why. Maybe because I use thatch roof instead of spingle? Tried everything even removing the 1 floor tile you said to include but to no avail. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Do they have stars? Starred boars are bigger, and these are basic boars.
Cool, just set this up with an all starting wood design (basic wood walls plus the corewood supports, thatch roofing, and a campfire in place of the brazier) and it works with 1* boars. I'm only seeing 3 piglets at a time but that's fine; not looking for a porkchop mill quite yet.
I think the 5 boar limit applies here, but that makes this build suitable for servers.
Yeah, I used wood fencing instead of the iron cages as well. Trickier to place, but so far they seem to work. Also I'm having issues with piglets dying to smoke through the wall so I placed a fence to prevent them from getting to that area of the pen.
Does this still work in the current version of the game? If so, how closely can you put these together? @Zerger
Just built it. Seems to work on 1* boars but I am hearing it isnt working that well with 2* since the piggies are slightly bigger the smoke kills them before they grow.
Pig Smoker 2024
My pigs will not eat the carrots under the half walls.
is it ok that the piggies climb the thatch and get very close to jumping of?
Their hitbox should be too big for them to fit through, if you're having problems narrow the gap by adding some beams above and below
How are you getting the boars to spawn?
The command for that is Spawn Boar followed by the number you want
Hello I tried this out but one star boars aren't breeding, does this farm only work with regular boars?
Heya, I only tested this build with regular boars yes. One and two star boars have a bigger hitbox so you probably need to increase the size of the pen slightly to make it work
@@Zerger Do I only have to increase the size of the breeding pen, or the entire pen itself?
I think increasing just the little pen at the top that boxes the two adults in should work. I haven't tested this yet, but they need to be able to turn around even though they won't be
@@Zergeryou should change your title or make it clear somewhere. This doesn’t work. I made it bigger and bigger and bigger. I wasted 2 hours of my time following your guide and trying to fix it. I already only have such little time to play video games. Thanks to following your guide I wasted 2 hours I could’ve been building one that actually works.
Hey can you do it with campfire? I've yet to get access to iron
Give it a try, but I specifically chose the hanging brazier because it produces about half the amount of smoke than all the other smoke sources
how close can you build them to each other?
I think they have to be at least 10 meters away from each other
The smoke is killing the piglets for me. I even removed the extra layer of floor and its still happening. I wonder if they changed something with the Ashlands update.
Thanks for the comment, yes it seems they somehow changed the pathing of smoke clouds. I found if I remove the top wall on the far end facing the brazier to allow the flow of smoke to exit instead it works again, otherwise it does a weird new redirect motion on impact
@@Zerger well now its working for me after a server reset so I have no idea lmao
@@Zerger This worked--bless you
Is it posoble to make one without iron?
You can try, but regular wooden walls are too thick and the piggies will get stuck
I made a replica and it worked perfectly! Thank you!!
I think I will make another and try it with a deep pit though, the rate of production is great for solo, but not a group of 6 hehe
I built vertically from your model and scaled it up about 12 meters higher than the pig drop zone. The breeders at the top are non stop pumping out piggies. I made the bottom 4x4 instead of 2x4 and the single Brazier is still plenty to slaughter them once they hit adulthood. We got enough meat for a group of 6 and raising wolves, thank you for your contribution!!!
why are my piggys dying before growing up maaan to the smoke
Either your roof is too low or your floor is too high, or you're using 1 or 2 star boars as their hitbox is bigger
@@Zergerregular boars
@@Zerger built it the exact same
Really clever! I play with a mod that disables smoke. Do you think something like this would work with pufferfish instead?
Why do you disable smoke? Just out of curiosity. Yes definitely lol, I'm about to upload my next farm which is a lox one working with pufferfish
With that in mind, can this work with a regular campfire as well? Is the brazier just for easier refueling?
Nah the brazier doesn't die out when it's surrounded by smoke, it also produces smoke at half the rate of any other structures. So kinda essential because of that
@@Zerger I am playing on ValheimRaft so my base is just a big mobile ship. Trying to vent smoke from a kitchen was a nightmare, so I downloaded a mod to disable it for the sources that I want to. But, many of my fire sources on the ship are braziers to maximize space
Hi why u need this iron grate ?
It's thinner than regular walls, or the babies can get stuck
why the iron fences?
It's to stop the piggies clipping between the two floors on the way down
Can wood wall act the same way or message board ?
Give it a try, try and keep whatever you use flush with the two floors. You can always just remove it if they get stuck later no biggy
i make this with some modifications for 2 star boar, but the problem is my 2 star boar cant died by smoke. Sad... And with new patch we cant dig too deep . So if you want to make animal farm you need to build up and i hate it because it looks ugly. 😢
Funny thing, because of your comment I did a quick test and the wolf farm seems to work on 2 star boars
perfect working ty
i don't have iron
why the iron?
:)
Stops the bebez from getting stuck between floors, but you can probably build it without 😏
@@Zerger gracias 🙏🏽
I'm in bronze age. Can we do this without iron?
There's a small chance the piggies will get stuck between the 2 floors, but build it exactly as it is and skip the iron cage walls and it could work. Otherwise what I would do is try to freehand place a wood beam so it is directly underneath the floor under the pigs but flush with the end bit so they can't get stuck on it and prevent them from ending up between the two floors
The word "Brazier" originates from a French term meaning "Live Coals", and should be pronounced the same way that you would talk about Braised Meats.
A "Brassiere" is a term for women's supportive undergarments, and gave us the word, "Bra".
Every day we learn new things 🤣
Kudos for the device mate, but farming boar is part of the gameplay :)
And farm I shall 😜
It's not fully automatic if you have to fuel the smoke/fire and feed the boars tbh.
