This is the ocarina she's using in the video btw. $55 before shipping I believe. Going to get mine soon. Very Kool design for being in the shape of an axe lol. Couldnt tell in the video, just thought it looked custom. Glad to hear this inspired someone else too! Cant wait to trip some random people out playing this in the middle of the woods or entertaining friends n family on camping trips. Lol
I've just ordered my ocarina for the first time with no experience but it will be a while before it arrives and I'm so excited. People have said its simple to learn with enough practice after a few months.
How fares your playing?
Flute is a really fun instrument, especially to play piano music and to transpose some from other keys. I am also inspired to try the ocarina.
I love how she is dressed like Tauriel, an elf, while playing a very dwarvish song, symbolizing that relationship she held with Kili.
Or maybe she just took the cosplay that was most recognizable for people that saw the hobbit movie. The whole Tauriel-Kili relationship was complete bs.

@@patrickhoppe4062 honestly. It ruined the whole thing. Don't get me wrong we've seen romance from Tolkien but this? This was awful. Peter Jackson tried to recreate a love triangle like it's twilight. And it completely ruined kili's death. One of the greatest things was Fili's and Kili's brotherhood. And even tho their death was very sad they died side by side fighting for Erebor. And Peter Jackson ruined this. Made Kili die for a character that doesn't exist in the universe. It was just awful. People said they added tauriel to add female empowerment. False again. Female empowerment will not be portrait by a woman who fell in love with a guy who she talked to for 5 minutes and she was later chasing everywere.

I think this song is about truce and making friends. An elf playing a dwarf song can only mean reestablishing alliance and bringing peace back.

Or, i have a better theory. Its a human dressed as an elf, complete with fake ears used as a way to start a war between the Dwarves and Elves. An Elf playing this song would be considered an insult to any Dwarf
Not only that, it shows not all races hate each other.
Never really happened in Tolkien (the elves left for Valinor) but its a nice idea.
I can see it being adopted as a song of war by both races, but only being used when the two races fight side by side.

I've never heard of an Ocarina...like ever...I typed in Sound Healing instruments on Amazon and saw an Ocarina and I am like wtf is an Ocarina...and it sounds...so beautiful and now I want one
Make sure to get one fron known brands
Alot of cheap ones on amazon arent rly made to be played (so theyre very out of tune) as theyre more for cosplayers or as display pieces since the ocarina is mostly known in the west from the legend of zelda ocarina of time
For a beginner id recommend the night by nobel bc its only 30$ and plastic (so you wont break it if you drop it which you proly would if you are learnig)
I ordered a dwarf ocarina a few weeks ago and I was so happy when it came in the mail! I know it will take a long time to learn how to play it...but it's so fun! It has been a bit longer than a week and I can only play Zelda's lullaby. I smile every time I look at the ocarina and I still love to watch this video.

This makes me want to learn how to play the Ocarina! I've never been able to read sheet music though, goes right over my head. I had to play music in band based on finger placement memory. :(
All, or at least most of sheet music for the ocarina don't use traditional "sheet music" symbols/marks, they just have little black and white pictures of ocarinas with black or white filled in holes to show which ones to cover

But not being able to read sheet music is limiting what you can play since there are no ocarina tabs for every song, but there is traditional sheet music for every song (mostly). So if you wanna play an instrument seriously you need to learn to read sheet music.
