    Harvey was a tropical wave and took the same path and became a major hurricane in less than 24 hours

      That’s exactly what I keeep thinking this category “1” is probably gonna be stronger idk 🤷🏻 the gulf’s surface is a lot hotter that it has been in past years 😅😅

      You aren't taking into account that this early in the hurricane season the water in the northern Gulf is not as warm as it will be by the end of August. It is warm temperatures that feed hurricanes as to how fast they ramp up and how they get.
      It's true that the water in the southern Caribbean was warmer than normal allowing for the early formation of Beryl. I have not heard the same being said about the Gulf of Mexico.

    • @christianchampagne2281
      @christianchampagne2281 Před 5 dny +1

      @michaeldeierhoi4096 the temperature in the gulf is record hot this July but it's not hot deep water that's just surface. However they expect this August to be hotter than that August.

    What happened to all that Sarahan dust that was supposed to prevent serious intensification?

    • @Asmodeus6679
      @Asmodeus6679 Před 5 dny +1

      It's not strong enough anymore. Can't stop it. It blew over us about three days ago here in east Texas. Beautiful orange sunsets straight out of the lion king. Was kinda cool the way the hurricane had so much pressure it just forced it all out of the way. Then it compacted a cool front over us yesterday and we dropped about 10 degrees which in turn pulled the hurricane this direction since Cole attracts hot by convection.

    @Beitownit Před 5 dny +5

    As it heads into some very warm water with no wind sheer to stunt development, it's the rapid intensification phase that's a little worrying. The storm is moving relatively fast which means less time over the warm waters of the gulf. Stay vigilant and be prepared.

    • @Beitownit
      @Beitownit Před 5 dny

      @@reyperez3424 Experts said that rapid intensification would happen as it got closer to shore and I'm confident that it's already happening. This storm is restructuring fast and the latest satellite images show how impressively fast it's been able to pull back together. All the conditions this storm needs to continue growing and perhaps explosively are there. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this storm is a strong category 3 hurricane tomorrow morning. Stay vigilant and be prepared.

    This was so hard to watch and to hear. This is why I can't really watch local news that much. They need to stop the BS and explain to the exact t what the cone means and where the spaghetti plots are trending towards. Because I have been seeing a trend going further north east up the coast line because it doesn't take that much to get pulled up by the trough like a magnet. The trend been moving and the forecast since Jamaica have been off .

      They aren’t saying it is going to be a Cat 5 or Cat 4 or even Cat 3. They are saying “be alert, especially along the coast” and “we don’t know exactly where it will go or how strong it will be.” Conditions favor it strengthening. And it has been moving northerly and to the right for days now. And tropical storms can bring tremendous rain. It’s not just the wind.

      You kids apparently know nothing about weather prediction or how hurricanes are predicted, but you like to think you do. 😅
      There is always a certain level of uncertainty in predicting a hurricane's path because just a few degrees one way or the other would change where it makes landfall. And a slight change in weather conditions can shift a hurricane in subtle ways which becomes more significant as it approaches landfall.
