Oh mon Dieu, Amira... Ces notes quand elle passe sans prévenir à Gloria in excelsis Deo sont peut-être les plus belles qu'elle ait jamais chantées. These high crystal notes when Amira sings Gloria in excelsis Deo, at one minute in the video, are just out of this world. Really enchanting ! Orpheus was thought to be dead a long time ago but clearly he is reincarnated now as a Dutch soprano...
Yes, she should use her not forced beautiful clear, register more often, especially when she sings amplified. Besides, did you notice she used that clear register as her last note at her first performance with Andre Rieu and another more forced note at her second performance.
Indeed, you are right. I've just checked out the videos of her performances in Maastricht. The last notes are definitely shorter and clearer in the first concert with André Rieu. I confess I haven't seen the difference until now... Maybe we can find out the same difference between Amira's second rendition of "Nella fantasia" in November 2016 (Afrikaans is Groot concert) and her third one in March 2018 (Starlight classics concert, in South Africa again). In this last one, her high notes are much clearer and resonant, almost like a bell. Now, she can definitely improve herself as fast as in the beginning, but in a more thoughtful way, what is quite encouraging for the future...
@@bsirta5824 Yes indeed sha still can deliver clear bell like notes. When she combines it with her mastery of resonance it can become magic. She still have a preference for those high notes and tries to deliver them often at any cost, like for example when she hits them straight without vibrato it sometimes leads to disaster. I don´t know who are guiding her nowadays when it comes to artistic choices. Also Bangkok Vocal coach has been critical to her choice of venues that are amateur level, it will strike back at her when bigger events listen to these videos and concludes, right or wrong, her vocals not are up to expected standard for them.
Of course, you are right, but she is still young. She says she wants to begin her music studies last year in the university of Pretoria, which acts also as a european conservatory. I think it is a good idea, and then we will see... The competition between sopranos can definitely be fierce and cruel, I know it. I think for example of the carreer of the French singer Nathalie Dessay. Amira must correct her youthful failings (it is easy to say, I know 😊)... and she will keep, I hope, her obvious improvisation skills and her vocal smoothness and flexibility. For the rest, it is a question of technique and "labor improbus omnia vincit"... (Hard work conquers everything). In the short term, I dare say that she should sing without microphone a little more often...
@@bsirta5824 Okey, then she changed her mind and abolished Cape Town as a first choice of university. What made her change her mind, bet it is someone else running her desicions rather than what actually would be best for a future singing career.

Very fine....time to start backing away from the microphone....it is beginning to detract from the performance .....also a note of some concern is that her right hand has a slight tremor on the last note.
Still sings like an Angel from God!! May God bless her always!!

What a queen! Careful, Amira, not to break all the glass in the pavilion with those high notes.
