Message for the glitches that have been happening on recent videos cuz I had the same problem for my private server as well:
Go into your Gmod folder for your client and find the "steam.inf" somewhere in the folder "garrysmod", and replace the one in your server. This acts as an effective manual update for Garry's mod, as a recent update has slipped under the radar and hasn't been fixed on servers yet.
Hope this helps anyone who need it! :)
