What’s the one mod you would do with this Proton Pack?
For me I would replace the bracket that holds the wand with a strong magnetic plate so it’s easy to reattach the wand when wearing the pack. As it stands now it’s not really doable
Ive already opened her up and installed a Lith ion rechargable battery. Where you put your wallet is were I put the the port to charge it. Next..a amp and speakers. It needs to be LOUDER!!! LOL
I installed a mono aux out to a bluetooth speaker to improve the sound. Very easy mod to do. Just splice the wires to the pack's speaker wires.
Mine came today. I had an idea of what to expect and I was still overwhelmed.
It’s awesome.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the lore reason the lights went faster in Afterlife is because Egon had to beef up the equipment for stronger ghosts.
I'm pretty sure that is the case. Egon was tinkering with his pack because he was planning on going up against Gozer alone.
@@WiGgYof09
No doub,t same reason they got a total reword in Extreme Ghostbusters.
Good theory
@@WiGgYof09 could explain how Phoebe was able to do that "harry potter" thing at the end of afterlife
I can't stop laughing to see the blur reaction of the people when Bobby asked about if there's any ghost. 🤣
Lol! Glad you enjoyed that
Love that you went into a lift with your pack. Classic nod to 84
Haha nice catch
The extra switch is there on the actual pack, so Hasbro included it. They also made it a functional switch for the tinkerers in the GB community to use for their own modds.
Thanks. Will be interesting to see what’s done with it. Would have made sense to use it as a switch from the 84 to 2021 sound profile instead of opening up the cyclotron
@@GeekCulture will be very interesting to see what the community does with the hasbro pack in the future. There's already mods that exist for the spengler wand. Modds for the proton pack will follow suit.
Yes will be cool to see. Exciting times
Finally glad to see a video of someone taking this out into the world with a jumpsuit! This is probably my favorite toy replica of all time and I am motivated to get a jumpsuit and Alice frame to cosplay this proper in the future.
Haha was fun to go out and get people’s reaction
I got mine yesterday! It really is so awesome, it's everything I hoped it would be. I've spent since October 2021 staring at the Haslab page, and now I can't stop staring at it in person either. 😂 That extra switch will work and was stuck in there for modders btw.
Thanks for watching. Congrats on getting it! Understand what you mean on the extra switch. Interesting to see what people do with it
Bobby is excited excited 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha it’s pretty amazing
"Zacky that looks like you at the beach!"🤣
Lol! We have fun but all love at GC
@@GeekCulture hahaha when Bobby said that, I can recall the scene vividly from czcams.com/video/gO-Varnci_0/video.html
Lol! Good eye!
I legit just got mine 2 hours ago and set mine up. I'm getting a second neutrona wand to mod so I have an 84' wand and an Afterlife wand
Congrats
I think I prefer the "afterlife" mode as well. The lights spinning quickly makes it seem like the cyclotron is actually moving and gives the lights a purpose. The original pack from 84 just had slowly blinking lights that didn't seem to serve a purpose.
I hope they release another version of the pack made to look brand new and based entirely on the original pack, along with an 84 version of the wand.
They provide new decals to make it look new but the weathered look to us is better
@@GeekCultureAgreed as it's too clean
Are they going to make more ? Or bring more out to sale since they did very good ??
Hell yeah man. I just ordered one on ebay and paid double the amount. Still super stoked!
Where can I go to buy one of these?
Only ghosts hanging around that Chinese restaurant are the ghosts of the cats used in tonight's dinner
😂
Finally took mine home and stupidly stripped the fake screw on the side box (what is that bit for?) thinking it was the battery compartment. Yeah I should have looked at the poor instructions more closely! Hopefully can rebuild it a little and paint it. Or paint it enough to make it unnoticeable!
Damn I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah the instructions aren’t really clear on this
In fact, I have that but it's not a proton pack, it's a vacuum cleaner that is used like a backpack but also works for ghost hunting.
you know, Luigi's mansion 😅
Love how he roasts his companions using the roasted mini-pufts.
Lol! We have fun at GC but all love here
For starters we can get of those 4D batteries to power it. As they don't last very long. As aproper 1:1scale proton pack uses a9volt batter as it's main powersource
It looks brilliant but it needs some modification to cables as some of them are not the correct colour
Just fyi. Hasbro did not have making a proton pack in the future in mind when they released the wand.
Hmm perhaps you are right but if that’s the case then the bracket they made on the Neutrona wand seems to mean that they had plans for something. Otherwise no need
@@GeekCulture oh they're right - when Haslab came into Adam's video last year, they said exactly that. Definitely left the hook there for the modding community. Absolutely stoke we have an official Proton Pack, I can't stop playing mine! Subbing for more content 😎
Downside is the hook doesn’t work well if you are trying to slot it back in when wearing the pack.something magnetic might have been a better option
@Geek Culture if they did something magnetic then it wouldn't make for a very good replica. The prop connects using a similar setup. It is hard to put back on while wearing the pack though.
It's a must have item, but if you didn't back it when you had the chance (Financial reasons or other) You are pretty much have to contend with resales that can be in the thousands. Which is unfortunate.
Agree.
It weighs about 15-17 lbs which is lighter than most custom made ones (25 lbs. or more) that are made out of fiberglass and metal
Ok but it’s still heavy.
@@GeekCulture
Agreed...
It was b*tch to lug up the stairs in my building (3rd floor, no elevator)
A1:1scale version weighs about between 15/20KG
@@GeekCulture for a scale of reference, the original proton packs weighed around 50 lbs (22.67 KG) and most replicas weigh around that much
checking out that One Piece Odyssey back there... oh yeah. Proton Pack. Dope. I got mine too.
Congrats!
They actually didnt plan to make the pack when they released the wand. They had to come up with a way for them to synch.
I'm upset that Hasbro didn't manufacture extras I couldn't tie up that much money to back the program at the time but was able to get one after. I'm debating on selling my wand because there is no sense having the wand without the pack
That ribbon cable isn,t screen accurate
there are no words to describe how disappointed i am that this was crowdfunded only, i went on ebay and scalpers are reselling it for upwards of 2 grand, gotta love it :/
Welcome to the world of collectibles
cool
Thanks for watching
@@GeekCulture anytime
"Myst have item of the year" they say a year after it was available for purchase.
Not like we had it earlier too sadly. Otherwise, we would have gladly made the video a year ago
Sure I can always afford around $800 no problem 🙄 for the price you pay you figured they should have added the Alice frame witch is what im doing for my custom proton pack they got some cool mods for that pack
For $600 bucks, Really cheap that It Shuts Off after 30 seconds, so you have to constantly turn it on over and over, the power cell cover is White, Not blue or even faded blue, the red and blue tubes easily fall out and can get lost. For $600, they could have Included Alice pack frames.
New - tree - no ...
The pack is 10 to 15 lbs which isn't that much...
When you wear it it has weight to it. Don’t go by numbers alone
You haven't seen the first Ghostbusters, have you?
I saw it in the theaters when it opened and watched many times on VHS and cable.
True Ghostbusters fans build it themselves at home and don't buy a plastic Proton Pack !!!!
The best recommendation I can give to anybody that owns one of these invest in a set of rechargeable D batteries Energizer are the best in my opinion they seem to hold a longer charge than the Duracell and especially longer than any other off-brand
Great idea thanks!
Recharagble batteries are highly flawed. Because each time that you charge them up then the less voltage output that you'll get from them because their rechargable batteries
For anybody looking for a cool way to display this okay you can get in Alice lc1 harness to connect it to off Amazon for about $60 and then you can get a mannequin a full size display mannequin from Amazon again for another $60 and then you dress the mannequin up in your cosplay uniform and put the proton pack on it if you are unhappy with the stand I quite frankly think the stand is great for what it is which is a f****** stand
The stand is not even close to the build quality of the Proton Pack and when you handle it you will know what I we mean. It’s the only thing in this set minus the Marshmallow goo attachments that feels out of place
