  • Join me for a very good thrifting day at Goodwill! I'm so happy with my finds! When we get home I'll show you my haul and how I plan to use the vintage pieces I picked up. I'll also share some other updates about our life here at Worthington Home.

I'm so glad you liked the video! I've always loved that article - Eric keeps it framed in the workshop part of the basement!

I think Goodwill sells cups and saucers separately because sometimes you just need to replace one or the other, and this way you don't need to pay for both pieces. But what drives me crazy is that they display cups in the "mug" section so I have to hunt through a lot of mugs to find the cups, and then do the same with the saucers in the "plate" section!

I think I need those soup mugs (or really big coffee cups).!!!! I couldn't find them on your store, so I am going to assume someone needed them as well!
Great video, as always. Had some bad news today, so watching your videos allowed me to just escape my reality for a bit . Thank you.

I grew up in Orange CT too. Graduated from Amity in 1973. Small world.😊

That's awesome! Orange is such a nice town and has great schools. My mother graduated from Amity, my brothers and I did, and so did my son. Three generations of Spartans!

One of the things I focus on when I'm collecting, and it was mainly bone China teacups and plates, etc for my tea parties, are the known "English" brands but check that they are Made in England, not China. Many of the bone China companies have moved there and so those ones made there are not as desirable to the bone China collectors.

Beautiful finds. The big cups are breakfast cups. I have one in a Burleigh pattern, Asiatic Pheasants in pink. I had another set years ago from Williams Sonoma and they were called cafe au lait cups, but as you suggested we often used them for soup. Thanks for the visit with the pets. The wooden apple collapsible bowl is decorated with silk maple leaves and filled with mixed nuts in shells. It looks beautiful in my autumn display.

Thank you! I appreciate the information about the cups! I fell in love with the pattern. I'm also so glad to hear that you're enjoying the wooden apple collapsible bowl! Such a unique piece!

    Hi Kris,
Im wondering if the What Not Shop is closed during your father in laws illness? I went by it yesterday, and didn't see the doors open and all the interesting small furniture finds outside.
I had my oldest Granddaughter with me and we took a tour of historic downtown, which she loves seeing. Across the street from the What Not shop, and down a little , is the old church I grew up in. It's still a church, but the one I grew up in was
St Johns and just recently closed after over a hundred years. I'm just glad it remains a church, even tho its under a new name!
The Rondo set is very nice and looks brand new! God bless Eric when he goes to ship that set, lol.
    Happy thrifting!
    Deb

Hi Deb! Yes, it's been closed during his recovery. He's been going there part-time this week, but he hasn't had the strength to bring things outside like her normally does. (I think he's really not ready to be at the store, but that's just my opinion). New Britain has so much history, doesn't it? I'm sorry to hear that the old church closed, but at least it wasn't demolished. I hope your granddaughter enjoyed the tour!

Syracuse also did china. They ended up buying Aberdeen China. Aberdeen made some gorgeous patterns...My Grandmother's china is Aberdeen. That is why I did the research. lol And Chris, you're passing up some good Fitz and Floyd pieces. They sell well too.
