    This is the best game rule presentation I have seen. Amazingly clear.

    This video finally convinced me, you are by far the best game reviewer on CZcams. And I'm getting this game! Thanks.

    I appreciate hearing you think through the decisions made in this game. My wife and I love playing it but for such a simple game, there is so much to think through. Thanks for your content.

    This game has a certain charm to it.
    You got me really interested in buying it. Seems like a pretty smart mechanism.
    Good job Jon!

    Thanks for another helpful run through. Not only has it convinced me to get the game but it’s saved me reading the rule book as well! 🙂

    Thank you so much - great explanation. First time I’ve watched a play through for instructions and didn’t feel the need to look for another video. Subscribed!

    Awesome video! Ordered a new copy which comes in later this month! So excited!
    I did have one question though (maybe the rules explain this so I'll know when my copy arrives). You took 1 card out at the beginning of the game and set it aside to not be used for "this specific round of the game." Did you add that card back into the deck during the second round?
    Thanks!

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 5 lety +1

      I believe you remove a different card each round, so you'd bring it back.

      I'm glad you enjoyed it :) Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try Shadows of Kyoto, and 2 player games rarely see tabletime for our group as well.

    such an amazingly balanced gameplay for solo. I don't know how you do that. haha

  • @lukenarlee8118
    @lukenarlee8118 Před 2 lety

    Fantastic video with clear explanation. My only confusion though is how the one card that is set aside at the very beginning of a round gets dealt. Who gets that card? Or do both players set aside one card? Just to be clear, I’m not referring to the one secret card you hide for yourself, but the neural one that just gets set aside. Confused about who gets that and when? Or does it just not get used at all?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately, it's been too long since I played this game to remember the rules enough to answer your question. Sorry about that!

    • @pengchengliu9637
      @pengchengliu9637 Před rokem

      No one gets the burn card. Its to prevent perfect information/counting.
      It will get shuffled back with all the cards for subsequent rounds so the ‘missing’ card is different every round

    This is a really charming game. It reminds me of Lost Cities. I still prefer Knizia's design, but this game is a nice reversal of those mechanics. Both give me the same tense feelings.

    • @bennettgardiner8936
      @bennettgardiner8936 Před 6 lety +1

    At 13:58, do you give an extra card to the other player because they start the round? Is it because they won the previous one or because they start the round? If the latter, did you get an extra card when you started the previous round?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 3 lety

      Honestly I don't remember the rules to this game since I made the video so long ago so I'm not sure the answer to your questions.

  • @wallykasp
    @wallykasp Před 4 lety

    Looks fun. I have a question though, how do you wrestle control from your opponent? For example, you needed two cards to get the yellow from your opponent in the second round. Does having the Keisha favor from the previous round essentially give you a +1 influence at the start of the round?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  Před 4 lety

      It doesn't give a +1 but it does mean if we tie then they keep control of that token.

    • @NicholasNawroth
      @NicholasNawroth Před 26 dny

      @@JonGetsGameswe just purchased the game and are confused by this. Our version of the rules gives not guidance as to what happens in round 2+ if someone already has the Geisha’s favor and there is a tie. When we tie we move ir back to center. We have the Emporer s4 version of the game, maybe we missed where it states this?
