      remote interface spring must be preloaded

    I fixed mine by tightening the cable tension with the screws on the cable near the levers. Where the cable goes into the rideloc on handle bars end. Like the old school brakes adjust. Hope that helps. It sometimes doesn’t go back to position 1 - ps I like your ghetto solution to help it get back 👍🏻

    I just seen this and its been a year ago, but to fix that you need to preload the spring by removing the bolt and pre-load the spring.. since by looks of it, it doesnt have enough tension to go back to full open position.

    Gracias por tu video, a mí me paso lo mismo con una Scott Spark 950 recien comprada. Ya no confio en ese tipo de bloqueo. Un saludO.

    Hello all I think is just matter of maintenance and cleaning, I follow a Brazilian guy on Instagram and he is a good mechanic, he services the fork and this problem is due to dust or old grease inside the top of the fork but below the black part that is pulled by the remote control.He pours some oil and moves the open/closed mechanism on the fork and a lot of dirt comes out, clean all re-lubricate all and problem should be solved.
    It worked for me! I hope it does the same for all of you.

    @davidmendes3337  Před 7 lety +3

    Yep,that's the way to unblock a Fit4 fork,but the problem of the defective dial(it doesn't move to the correct positions) remains.

    Hi, I got the same problem with my FOX 34.
    I even upgraded the remote interface. But still the fork has a hard time moving from 100% locked to mediumlocked.
    Totally annoying that a widely used brand (almost dividing the marked between RockShox and Fox) produces such bad engineered part!

    • @davidmendes3337
      @davidmendes3337  Před 6 lety

      True, R.S has a hydraulic system that has less problems... we have to hope :/

    Viva David, my brand new 2018 FOX 32 SC ELITE fork got stuck in full lockout mode. the remote dial does not move. Let's see what FOX will do about this problem. From 2017 to 2018, FOX changed the remote dial hardware to a plastic cartridge with the spring inside...

    • @davidmendes3337
      @davidmendes3337  Před 6 lety +1

      Hum...i dont realy trust this solutions, they feel like just small patches to a design problem.Hope that things go ok with your case.

  • @phuketsunsetweddings-weddi56

    I Have the same problem which appeared last week. May have to ditch the remote altogether if there's no permanent solution. I'll check out the online petition.

  • @kvk8406
    @kvk8406 Před 6 lety +1

    What about changing the Cable? Maybe there is too much friction between the switch cable and the overwrap. Because of this, the spring aint strong enough to move it to the open position.

    • @davidmendes3337
      @davidmendes3337  Před 6 lety

      Hy Kev!
      At the time everything was changed.The only fix was sending back to Waranty, the Top Dial was open,i think they added a Bearing and greased the whole thing.
      At this moment i use only 2 positions(i don't use the third one-"Blocked" position to don't had stress to the system...) i keep everything greased and it works ok.But it has to have constant attention...

  • @bobdabalina3940
    @bobdabalina3940 Před 7 lety +1

    I have exactly the same problem. Is that not a warranty issue, means that if we turn the bike in to a Scott dealer, they have to fix it at their/Scotts costs, no matter what, even if they have to exchange the fork?!?!

    • @davidmendes3337
      @davidmendes3337  Před 7 lety +1

      I's a warranty issue.I've already leave the bike at the store and they have send it to Fox service center(it's not to
      Scott to solve) .
      There are many reports that after a Fox fix,the issue will happen again :( some time after. To me it has not.

    Yep my brand new bike doesn't lock out the shocks. I prefer to just have my shocks normal and remove the whole lockout device.

    PS your front tyre isbthebbest wrong way round for braking traction..

    • @davidmendes3337
      @davidmendes3337  Před 6 lety +1

      hy Andrea.I have a Maxxis Ardent Ardent Race exo 3c, it's a good front tire for the most part of the year(at least in my terrains) it's in is correct position(i've followed the arrows in the tire)

    • @Andrewolf79
      @Andrewolf79 Před 6 lety

      David Mendes yeah I use to do that till I find out that the arrows work fine for the back tyre fitting as that's the best grip, but for the front fitting the grip works the opposite way round.. As u go forward u want the grip when u braking !! I learned looking at motorbikes front tyres.

      @davidmendes3337  Před 6 lety +3

      Marmarac,do you think i or the Scott mechanic didn't try... it went to waranty. ("You should shame...") Say that to the thousands with this problem,even now in 2018.

    • @marmarcberserker5503
      @marmarcberserker5503 Před 6 lety

      Are you serius? Ok if you went with this issue to mechanic and still nothing then ok sorry. I have a little bit diffrent issue with this dumper, i don't feel any difference between open and medium mode :/

    • @paulregina6772
      @paulregina6772 Před 6 lety

      There are almost no differences and its normal.
      Anyway. if you increase the tension of the spring, when u try to lock you might have the open shrimps mode ajust who will turn with the rest of the lockout, making ur settings for this moving when u ride beacause the spring will also distort the spring inside and cause this.
      I have tried more than 50 settings, no way with the actual design to have this working correctly with 3mode.
