“No one sings like you anymore”...R.I.P. Chris Cornell, the most amazing vocalist I’ve ever heard. You can hear the pain in his voice lamenting the loss of a dear friend.
Temple Of the Dog was one of the most Beautiful grouping of songs ever written.
This is the amazing Chris Cornell on vocals, also singer for Soundgarden and Audioslave. In my opinion one of the greatest vocalists of the past 30 years. RIP Chris. Thank you for this reaction.
That’s our boy Chris Cornell(RIP) on them vocals! Their song Reach Down is fantastic! Frankly, anything with Chris on vocals is gonna be fire. Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, Audioslave, or just his solo material. All of it is gold!
This is basically Chris Cornell backed by what was to be Pearl Jam (they were just releasing their first album). Cornell has his rightful place among legendary rock frontmen. He wrote this about his recently deceased close friend, Andy Wood. Incredible writing and vocals.
This album was a one-off collab with members of Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam as a tribute to lead singer of Mother Love Bone, Andrew Wood who died of a heroine overdose. The big hit of the album was Hunger Strike featuring both Chris Cornell and Eddie Veder.
The late great Chris Cornell on vocals. My favourite vocalist of all time. You'll be bombarded with requests for Soundgarden, Audioslave, more Temple Of The Dog and his solo stuff
Temple Of The Dog was a one album project by friends of Andrew Wood, the vocalist with Mother Love Bone. Andrew passed away just before their debut album was released. The album is a tribute to him.
Man, I will never forget this song. Playing loud on my birthday - the day He died. R.I.P Chris, and thank You for all the strength your songs have given Me through the years.
CC can SANG!
RIP CC and AW...legends forever
That’s the amazing Chris Cornell!
Iam running out of superlatives to describe Chris Cornell. The man was literally a Swiss army knife as a singer
The vocals are insane. Maybe Cornell's best performance ever? And that is saying a lot...
Chris's death still hurts. His voice was gorgeous and was one of my favorites. Rest in Peace!
Auto-Tune didn't come out until 1997
This song came out way before that🤩
Rip Chris Cornell
No One Sings Like You Anymore
Awesome Reaction 👌
He had such a soulful voice, long live Chris Cornell
This band consisted of the members of Mother Love Bone(who had just lost their lead singer Andrew Wood To drug overdose), Chris Cornell of Soundgarden (and later Audioslave), Eddie Vedder and what would be the FUTURE members of PEARL JAM. So it's technically 3 bands in one.... Temple of The Dog was a one time collab to honor their friend Andrew Wood of MLB. As others have said... PLEASE do "Hunger Strike".... It's Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder doing lead vocals. The way their voices complement/play off each others is EPIC!!! SIDE NOTE: This was the event that brought the band PEARL JAM together. The guys of MLB had just lost their lead singer and friend... The then unknown Eddie Vedder just happened to be sitting in the studio waiting for his newly formed(Mookie Blaylock) bands studio time. Eddie could hear Chris struggling to get his vocals the way he wanted them, so as Chris Cornel put it: "Eddie quietly, but with some balls, walked up to the mic and started singing the low parts" the rest is history for PEARL JAM!
That's Mr. Chris Cornell. Also known as "The Voice" to his peers. One of THE BEST vocalist in the game and my personal favorite male vocalist.
May I suggest " Reach Down" from this CD.
Greatest voice in rock EVER!! He touches your soul. Must listen to Call me a dog.
Oh sweet sweet Chris😫😭 No One Sings Like You Anymore
The way that he’s so confident that he could wait ‘till the end to go jam out to a song completely and then remember in detail all the drum, bass, guitar parts, and the way the vocals were going with the guitar part is crazy to me yo this guys a genius. I’m calling it.
“The sky was your playground, but the cold ground was your bed” that hits so deep in the soul man.
This entire album is great...one of the best of the grunge era. "Reach Down", "Times of Trouble", "Call me a Dog", and "Wooden Jesus" are some other great songs (as well as "Hunger Strike" which was the single from the album)
It's funny how happy you look when the lyrics are so sad and impactful ;) That text physically hurt when you listen to it, it's pure poetry.
I get that you're probably not paying attention to the lyrics at first listen but I hope you take a look at them because rarely have I seen such a beautiful tribute!
Reach down and four walled world are some of the best vocals ever
by anyone
Chris Cornell could have sang " Mary had a little lamb" and it would be one of the best vocals ever
Those two are probably my favorites on this. Times of Trouble is close behind
I still can’t believe he’s gone. It still hurts.
@@thegoatchild3545 I can certainly empathise with the that. No celebrity death has ever hit me as hard. A friend texted me and it felt like a punch in the stomach when I read the words
Thank you for the great insight on this tune - true connection with Chris Cornell and all other musicians involved throughout his career…man…RIP…love strength and inspiration 💯
'Hunger Strike' with Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam.
Wore the cassette out a couple of times. I like all the tunes on this album. Your Saviour and Times of Trouble are probably my favorite tracks.
Played this song at my Mama’s funeral per her request 💚 take a listen to some Alice In Chains..Don’t Follow, Man In A Box, Rooster, Them Bones, Rain When I Die, Down In A Hole, Nutshell, and many more!!
This band is Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave, solo) with 3 members of Pearl Jam (of which 2 were from Mother Love Bone) and the drummer from Soundgarden, now in Pearl Jam. Guest/backup vocals also provided Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam, Solo) on a couple tracks, including Hunger Strike.
This was a passion project for Chris Cornell and was motivated by the death of his friend and roommate at the time Andrew Wood (Mother Love Bone). I think it was also to help Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament (Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam) to cope with the loss of their friend and bandmate. It may have also helped Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder (both Pearl Jam) start the bond with new bandmates Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament.
Songs for Andrew Wood (that I know of, probably some missing) - Temple of The Dog: Say Hello to Heaven and Reach Down, Alice in Chains: Would?, Candlebox: Far Behind, and I heard (maybe in Andrew's story) that Outshined by Soundgarden also was, but I cannot find a reference to it so, not certain on that one. He touched so many people's lives and left an indelible mark on Seattle and many of the musicians here.
Please try out some Mother Love Bone. I really like the songs Stargazer* and Man of Golden Words (this is the song with the line temple of the dog).
I also recommend Stardog Champion (this one is heavier than the others) and the standard request Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns is also good.
* I like the video they put together on this one, it is clips of the band and of Andrew. It definitely seems he had stage presence & a big personality.
Chris Cornell is my favorite singer. Has been my favorite since the early 90's. Before I became addicted to his voice, I was a huge Queen fan. Your channel has brought back a lot of memories of falling down my own rabbit holes. For some of the more obscure song recommendations for Queen, I'd go for "The Prophet's Song," Queen's play with singing in the round. Or, possibly, one of the songs that Brian or Roger sing lead on... Maybe "Sleeping on the Sidewalk" or "Drowse?" For Chris Cornell, I particularly love "Rowing" from the Soundgarden King Animal CD.
You wanna hear Chris sang you gotta check out When I’m Down live at the Troubadour. Many many many goosebumps and chills promised! 🙂💗
You really need to hear Chris Cornell in an acoustic setting .Fell on Black Days is from the heavens 2 guitars and a badass cello and Chris's immaculate voice. Irwin bring tears to your eyes
Greatest rock voice of all time
I know Chris wrote this song for his friend, but it always hits me so hard. My big cuz, my friend, took his own life after being there for me and helping me with my own struggles of losing my father and being there for me financially and lovingly when I got cancer .
RIP COUSIN LOVE YOU, AND MISS YOU. I wish you would have talked to me. Peace Hippie Joe
I’m sorry you’ve had so many struggles, and for the loss of your dear cousin. Take care.
@@helenespaulding7562 Thanks so much, I feel kind of bad to have left such a personal bummer of a message. You know music can just hit you a certain way, and sometimes I go there. Much love, be well my friend. HIPPIE JOE
@@hippiejoe969 never feel bad for sharing your feelings. Abrazos🤗. Oh, and about music: I completely understand: Music has been my love and passion my whole life. Have I mentioned Leland Sklar’s CZcams channel to you? Don’t know your age, but if the sixties were your time, as they were mine, you will love his channel if you do not know who he is(I did not know him by name before his channel started a year ago) then google him. You will be gobsmacked. He’s played with almost everybody. And I mean that literally Take care Joe and stay well yourself. Hopefully by summer we can return to some form of normalcy
Temple of the Dog produced one album - this one. A grunge "supergroup". For more Chris Cornell -RIP- vocals, Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun". Soundgarden was Chris' band. Don't know if you've listened to any Linkin Park - Chester Bennington was Chris' best friend, they committed suicide within 3 months of each other. Each of those deaths hit me, and millions of other folks, very hard. I'm a huge fan of Linkin Park, and I took Chester's death harder - I wasn't the same for a couple of weeks after he passed. The talent that they both possessed - and integrated with other amazingly talented musicians in their respective bands (particularly Mike Shinoda in Linkin Park) - was, and is, staggering. I need to thank you for your commitment in finding and listening to amazing music from artists from "outside your jazz world". I believe you're having a great time discovering this music. Cheers!
This is, of course, Chris Cornell's tribute to his dead friend: Andrew Wood (of Mother Love Bone) ; the ENTIRE album, of course. but, this song ("Say Hello 2 Heaven" (stylized "Prince-style" with the number instead of the word)-) in particular.
The album, actually, pre-dates Pearl Jam's formation, but it's release was post-dated and the thing became a kind of "super-bamd" due to it featuring players who were or became members of Soundgarden & Pearl Jam and, as one may-or-may-not be aware: the core of Pearl Jam began as members of Andrew Wood's band Mother Love Bone (guitarist Mike McCready, drummer Dave Krusen (himself: replaced by Dave Abbruzzese, by the 2nd P.J album: Vs. (originally titled: 5 Against 1 or 5 Against The World)) and vocalist: Eddie Vedder were the members added/exchanged). Both bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard were members of Mother Love Bone.
They and Mike McCready play on: Temple Of The Dog.
The drummer is: Matt Cameron; Soundgarden's drummer who, after Soundgarden's break-up, would sign on with Pearl Jam as their long-time drummer, as well.
As with anything featuring Chris Cornell: The work is magical, unique and excellent. Cornell's voice is a glory and his musicality is incredible!
...the album was re-released after-the-fact to capitalize on the, then, success of, both: Soundarden and Pearl Jam. ...If I am not mistaken, the song "Hunger Strike" (which became the first single released from Temple Of The Dog -although it is FAR from the best song; or the most commercial one!; on the record!-), on which Cornell and Vedder share lead vocals (Ed sings the 2nd verse & both share choruses/outro) is, actually the first professional recording Vedder ever did. It was recorded the DAY he first showed-up to meet with members of his new band (not yet Pearl Jam, then!).
...all of the bands mentioned deserve your attention, as well, Chod.
Mother Love Bone
Malfunkshun
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
...and their other "adjuncts," as well....
Soundgarden “Outshined” is a monster song.
Probably the most gut wrenching and tragic songs in rock n roll!
RIP Chris and Andrew ✨
You are missed 💔
22 years on earth, this is still the only song i cried listening to the first time
He’s death was CRUSHING!!! I hoped he’d just be a cool old-timer I could take my kids too see live!! I did not see that coming & of course I never knew him but what a loss!!!
Masterpiece!! Unreal vocals!! Goosebumps
Chris Cornell...one of the best!!! So sad...Try "Hunger Strike"
Hunger Strike is one of the best crafted songs of the generation. So good.
Chris Cornell also sang in Audioslave & Soundgarden
The Michael Jordan of vocals....
He was just on a different level
Cornells voice makes my eyes water. R.I.P.
If you want another example of Chris Cornell’s amazing songwriting ability, soulfulness, and raw vocal talent, check out his performance of “When I’m Down” live at the Troubadour in 2010. It’s a masterpiece.
Now check out Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns by Mother Love Bone this song is about the death of Mother Love Bone's lead singer Andrew Wood
Excellent..I have this Album Framed on my wall...Pearl Jam/Soundgarden mixed together...90's Grunge bands....they rocked it!!! great listen and reaction chod
Chris was the voice of his generation definitely missed
Rock God, singing about his friend who died, and THEN Chris died years later.... RIP brothers!! ❤
Yeah my man can SANG
Chris Cornell does the cover of Nothing compares to you written by Prince recorded by Sinead O'Connor and Prince.
Chris Cornell/ Nothing compares to you, live Sirius Radio.
RIP CHRIS💜
✌😎
When Bad Does Good - Chris Cornell
Please. Let's celebrate him. Here. Now.
New sub here... thank you for recognizing this beautiful song! You have such a BEAUTIFUL SMILE, too!! ❤ I'm so jealous 🥰
More Chris Cornell =)
This album turns 30 this April and it’s flawless from beginning to end. Check out Reach Down, Call Me A Dog and Wooden Jesus. But do yourself the favor of experiencing the entire album.
Love that song! I'm wondering why nobody reacts to Zeppelins "Nobody's Fault But Mine" ? It is quintessential Zep! It has all the elements.
Rip Andrew. What you could've accomplished if not for that awful addiction. And how tragic that many years later, it reached out and grabbed the very person that wrote this tribute. Rip Chris. Drugs are so tragic.
My fave voice all-time.. Gotta check his band Audioslave: Like a Stone.. I am the Highway..
Just came from your Burden in My Hand video. Glad you did this one! It's a classic.
I am not sure if I have hear this before, but once it started I knew it was from the 90's.
I used these lyrics for my friends funeral years ago. Beautiful song.
Your the best, you don't pause the song every 15 seconds, you my favorite for reaction videos
I appreciate your reaction, really well done.
All Night Thing is another good one
I suggest you check out Rival Sons. Seriously, you want to hear soulful vocals, they're a band to hear for those :).
You have to hear his cover of Billy Jean and Nothing Compares to You. That Will blow your mind!
i loved the fact you didn't paused... RIP Chris
Chris Cornell….yes sir that man could sing.
Chris Cornell is a natural always has been .
This song was written for his good friend Andrew Wood who died of a heroin overdose a week or two before Mother Love Bone’s 1st full album was to be released. If you get a chance I’d like to see you react to Mother Love Bone “Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns” its two songs but the first one acts as an into into the other. The other MLB song I really like is titled “Stargazer” who is mentioned in “Say Hello to Heaven” as well.
this album should be listened to in one sitting. jus sayin...rip chris....rip andrew
Hell yes. He was a genius. He truly inspired a generation of music. Not many can claim that.
No real rock artist would ever consider using 'AUTOTUNE' , THIS IS ALL CHRIS ...SO GOOD. THX
You should hear Chris sing the song Reach Down off of the same album.
There needs to be more attention to mother mother bone. They are the original grunge. Andrew Wood was his best friend, let singer of mother lever bone. I strongly suggest checking amending or from the only album. Rotten Apple. It's such a great album. No pearl jam, no temple of the dog's, no nirvana, you get the picture. He was a amazing artist. Both Cornell and Wood
Wooden Jesus another good one
You are watching and listening to the video song by Temple of the dog which is Chris Cornell's band and you should play more Chris Cornell like his version of the prince cover called nothing compares to you or his version of a led Zeppelin song called thank you you will not be disappointed
This is the incomparable Chris Cornell who would later front Soundgarden, Audio Slave and have a solo career. Amazing artist that we lost to suicide.
Soundgarden, Pearl Jam (basically Temple of the Dog without Chris Cornell), Nirvana and Alice in Chains were the 4 powerhouse bands from Seattle that helped to change the sound of rock in the early to mid 90s with their grunge sound. Add in Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers and (I'm sure I'm forgetting many) and alternative rock was born.
Soundgarden - Outshined czcams.com/video/sNh-iw7gsuI/video.html
Audio Slave - Cochise czcams.com/video/KDMvN45sjo4/video.html
Chris Cornell - Thank You (Led Zeppelin cover) czcams.com/video/Hi3i5nQhBaI/video.html
Hey...thanks for taking the time with the links...all great it’s hard for me to hear anyone’s voice other than Plant’s singing the song he wrote to his wife, but if anyone did, Cornell is best possible choice
🤘🏻🔥🖤🔥🤘🏻
You gotta take a listen to Chris Cornell’s live acoustic remake of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”..the best version on CZcams is a live acoustic version of just Chris singing and it’s a pic of Chris in black and white looking straight forward..that is the BEST VERSION of his remake. He stripped the song down and poured his entire being into this song..Please react to this version!
Lots of death by overdose or suicide by these Pacific Northwest grunge and metal bands.
Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Warrell Dane from Nevermore.
Did I miss another rocker somewhere? Damn. Bad luck with rockstars in Washington
Nice breakdown! Chris Cornell is a great singer.
Para sempre Chris Cornell 💜🔉🎧💔
"No one sings like you anymore." 😢
my next suggestion, Ten Years After - I'd Love to Change the World [ czcams.com/video/CTUsFm0BAu8/video.html ] - another great 60's song with a memorable guitar riff and a message that is just as true today as it was 50 years ago...
🥺
Chod, if you get back to doing Chicago again, give "Poem 58" a listen.
HEAVEN by the band Warrant...they're not related in any way but this one is a fire power ballad from the underrated hair band Warrant 🔥
try THE DOORS CRYSTAL SHIP or THE END thanks
You HAVE to check out Hunger Strike
Chris Cornell's cover of Billiejean is so different and superior to MJ's original: all blues and soul💖!
Agree! Chris' version is FAR superior... I honestly think he could've sung the phonebook and he'd have had us all in a trance!
Alice in Chains Would
Can you react I FEEL FINE by BEATLES official music video, thank you.
Please listen to four walled room or your savior
You can tell he doesn't know..............
React to Nirvana biggest song “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Official Video
Since you just did audio slaves show me how to live you should show dee this song same singer AKA Chris Cornell RIP
Totally listened to that before fake
That’s the amazing Chris Cornell!
He could sing the phone book and it would be amazing. RIP Chris Cornell.
