It absolutely is the best of the numbered ones. The original trilogy works great as a trilogy, but the individual movies don't quiet stack up to the greatness of RotS

If I remember the movies right, they were trying to find a way to retroactively legalize the Clone Army that had been ordered behind everyone's backs. They realized that Emergency Powers would let them easily declare to _"create_ a grand army of the Republic" - with the hope that no one looks into _how_ they got the army of clones grown so damn fast - and decided to scapegoat Jar Jar by having him be the one to propose it to the Senate. So it was out of the mouth of Jar Jar, but the Jedi Council is the ones that put the words in there.

Fun fact: Palpatine designed the orders in a way so that even if the jedi found out about it, he could say that he has similar orders for every high ranking official, with the real order 67 being "Execute the senate", so if Palpatine made that mistake in the movies, he would have ruined a plan that was decades in the making

The only issue I can come up with for this game is that they didn’t let you fight the second player as Anakin during episode 3. That was the peak of the original.
They actually do something similar to that but it's in the return of the jedi level instead now. Which is awesome! But why didn't they do it in episode 3 as well?

My biggest fault was the removal of the battle over coruscant like I love that scene from the movie and from other Lego Star Wars and then I was excited after I had beaten Count Douku in geonosis and then get to battle over coruscant and it's a cutscene time to go fight Douku again
When I was little I played as Anakin and wiped the floor with Obi... who was being played by my ma, she was disappointed in herself.
I remember one time when I was playing that level the boss health bar switched to obi won, so instead of a bunch of hearts it was 4, I e never been able to replicate it but was hilarious at the time
You know what, I haven't realized that the voice actors for the Prequels are the VAs from the Clone Wars Show. So this is literally the closest we have to Animated Prequels.

Honestly, my favorite part about the PT in this game is how most characters are voiced by the same people as in the Clone Wars TV show
Thats because a lot of them are. Obi-Wan is the same VA. Anakin is the same. Dooku is the same. Grievous is the same. Maul is the same. Yoda is the same. C-3PO is the same. And then when you go into other trilogies you still have reprising actors. Lando is Billy Dee Williams.
@@charliesteele1893 I know the Clones are also voiced by Baker, and the main cast of the ST also sound similar to their movie counterparts(except Kylo)

The entire LEGO Star Wars saga is a comedic master piece. Take this magnificent quote from the sequels while Rey is battling Palpatine:

I love how in The LEGO-verse, if you lose your arm. It's treated like a minor inconvenience and not a life threatening injury. They don't even wince or cry in pain. Master Windu just looks disappointed.

The fact that R2D2 is actually pretty OP in combat since you can stunlock people with his taser is amazing
Child characters combined with a Jedi are also broken, because children can't take damage and therefore cannot die, allowing you to just X attack, A attack, rinse, and repeat.

One of my personal favourite details in this game is during free play, when you load in two characters who have interacted in the story/have a connection, they have a short back and forth
Anakin and Obi-Wan discussing beard health is a favourite, but the best by far is the fact that Obi-Wan and Grievous do the ‘hello there, general kenobi’ bit, so much stupid joy
My favorite part of the prequels was when Anakin and Padme spent a half hour discussing people with large bald heads. I understand that a lot of people think it's a complete non sequitur that ruins the tone of the movies, but I dunno, it's just simple fun.
Its funny that they joke about Jar Jar voting for Palpatine when he is literally the guy that officially handed emergency powers to Palpatine

Well.. not handed, but he had proposed the idea on Padme's behalf. The council then unanimously voted on it so really almost everyone there is to blame.

I am LIVING for RT's lego game playthoughs. Not much other streamers are willing to play these nowadays and it brings joy to see these classic series being enjoyed like the nostalgic blast they are

The Skywalker Saga is what kid me envisioned how the old Lego Star Wars games would look in my head whilst playing them back in the day.

This game was just SO incredibly faithful to the movies, I love it
Loved the part in the movies where Darth Maul's upper torso stabs Qui-Gon and then Obi Wan scores a point in a basketball hoop with his head, truly a classic

Lego Star Wars games were my childhood. I loved the first two but my absolute favorite HAD to be the Clone Wars one!

The prequels were awesome to play through, especially playing episode 1 with my friend. I only have 1 genuine problem with the prequels, and that’s the fact that the mustafar level is no longer a 1v1 with your co-op partner, which I thought was the best feature of the original game. Otherwise the game is incredible, and it’s 100% worth purchasing :D

Agreed, the fact it's not a 1v1 against your coop partner feels like such a missed opportunity from the originals.
To me, that's kind of emblematic of an issue I have with this game in general--there just isn't as much charm in a lot of ways. It feels a lot less creative, taking out a lot of things that made the original unique.
To be fair, this game does have a lot more combat mechanics then TCS, so a vs part might not have worked out for the better, and the racing bit of the level would require the camera to change, however that's not as difficult.
Luke vs Vader in Return of the Jedi is a 1v1 with your co-op partner though!
I’m really sad they changed what they did in the duel of the fates (battle of heroes making the edit here, my bad.) In the other LEGO Star Wars games it’s coop until the end in which both player one and two fight each other. Who ever wins doesn’t matter but it was so cool for its time.
They could still could do that in future updates. The game got rushed and crunched because Disney wanted the sequels to get more attention, the prequels were affected the most as they were developed last. Due to the success of the game though I hope they will do more updates and DLC.

2:30 The best part is that it is partially his fault for Palpatine gaining power. He gave a speech giving him more emergency powers for the Clone Wars and led to him being powerful enough politically to just become the Emperor

one of my favorite bits in this game, in The Last Skywalker when the emperor is having his "i've been every voice in your head" speech and jar jar is in one of the tanks
As someone that grew up with the OG Lego Star Wars games (back in the day when you had to buy a brand new GPU for a AAA game), I was expecting the Skywalker Saga to be a "mission pack sequel" compilation of the first six movies plus the new three (like how The Complete Saga was), maybe with some modern graphical polish... I wasn't expecting a _complete reimagining from scratch_ of the originals. One, that's extremely on-brand for Lucasfilms, and two, I'm gonna have to pick this up some time, because consider me intrigued.
It’s all but confirmed that Jar Jar was meant to be the real “Phantom Menace” of the prequels as a sith under Palpatine. There’s also a lot of evidence that Count Dooku was actually invented last minute to replace Jar Jar’s role in the story after everyone hated on him.
I can't believe nobody tried to kill Anakin Skywalker while he was still a child. We get an opportunity to kill baby Hitler and RT doesn't even try to make a joke
The construction of the bald family tree took more time in the stream than the game itself, and it was glorious.

Originally, Marge was meant to have bunny ears under her hair. This can be seen in a couple games, as they can be seen when Marge gets electrocuted and x-rayed, and when her hair almost gets pulled off.

The was an idea that was genius on paper and absolutely unacceptable in execution. Its legit really hard in games like that to keep track of your partner, but their solution was a nightmare
that was in a lot of lego games and im pretty sure the dynamic split screen can be turned off

I love how Jah Jah Binks is one of the most memorable characters in the series, most people have no Idea who Qui-Gon is but you show that weird amphibian guy and you instantly get a reaction
My favorite line of (the abominable) Jar Jar Binks is from the Clone Wars, where he comments on someone getting “crispy-fried”, presumably after someone dies.
Lol the Darth Vader "Nooooo" was just as comical as it was in the movie.
I’m so glad I didn’t play this game with anyone because I killed the AI so many times on accident because I was just careless throwing my lightsaber around.
People will never know the levels of insanity the discord went into making that final timeline.

I love how everyone, myself included, always blows themselves up at the very start in the trade federation ship because they don't know the red glowing boxes blow up if you hit them.
voices in mumble mode are weak compared to the mumbles of the previous lego titles
but you can still tell there was actual heart put into this game and that deserves recognition
Mumbles were ass probably due to the main way to play was voices unfortunately but they admittedly made the game amazing otherwise i think
I liked the old ones since they expressed so much emotion without doalogue but I also like the voice acting of this game
I really miss having to fight your actual friend/sibling at the end of Revenge of the Sith... That's perfect game adaptation right there!

I love the foreshadowing in this scene. After Padme asks "Ani?", Anakin turns back from The Red Light to happily look at Padme. And Padme falls in love with him. The Red Light is foreshadowing on his turn to The Dark Side and how Padme was really the reason behind it all. Anakin did it to protect Padme. Although misguided, his intents were truly noble.
I haven’t seen Star Wars so this is my first encounter with the story. It’s perfect and i will forever call this canon
It makes me unreasonably happy to recognize Star Wars Lego sets that I actually have, like the LAAT gunship in the Geonosian arena.
As someone who's just recently watched the prequels for the first time, this is even better
