    I use this BCD as my primary BCD because living in TN we have to travel to nearly every dive site we want to go to. I agree 100% with the comments of how it feels in the water and how versatile this product is. New to the Channel and really loving the content!

    I bought this BCD several years ago and it is well worth the money. I've used it in the Caribbean, Med, Red Sea and Thailand without any problems at all. Very comfortable and lightweight with lots of pockets and d-rings.

    I read a lot of reviews on this BCD but your review was by far the most informative. So much so that I purchased one. Looking forward to using it next month on our Socorro Island liveaboard trip.
    Thank you for your your honest review and from now on I will check your channel first!

    I’M USING ALL CAPS BECAUSE THIS IS THE BEST REVIEW. I haven’t done my open water course yet but I saw your review on top 5 things a new diver should get. I was looking at some BCDs and I saw this one.

    Using this BC for a while, both locally and abroad.
    Very comfortable, not much squiz when fully inflated. Plenty of lift.
    Weight pockets saying 10lb each - forget about it, anything more than 5lb each - and you will tear this thing apart.

      Hi Amadeuss, thanks for watching. I can believe that. It's definitely not a heavy duty BCD, but it's not designed to be.

      @DiversReady  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Wade, two very different BCDs, there. The Axiom is a tough, hard wearing BCD, not a light travel BCD, but it dpeneds what you're going to do with it. If you're a vacation diver, I would definitely go with the Travelight. Dive safe. James

    Great review! I was hard-pressed between this, the Scubapro Litehawk II, and Hydros Pro for my first BCD. After weeks of reading every review I could find, reports of it being marginally more durable than the others and more suited to my needs as a travelling photographer, I ended up picking the Litehawk II. It's been great so far, but I think one can't really go wrong with any gear from the current popular manufactures, the standard is incredibly high

    Interesting evaluation, I had not realized that the Cressi was so feature packed. I've been wanting to switch to a back inflate so now the fun begins.

  • @R.Hogarth
    @R.Hogarth Před 4 lety

    I had a Cressi Air Travel BCD. It is the Back Inflate counterpart to the Travelight. It seemed good, but it was 4 pounds positively buoyant. I had to add 4 pounds of lead just to offset the BCD. I now dive with an aluminum BP/W.

    Great review, I appreciate you not reading off the specs as you noted. I'm looking at this vest for my daughter (age 12) because of the weight to features ratio and because you mentioned it runs small which is great because she is sooooo skinny. I also want her to have an easy upright position on the surface that full wrap arounds offer compared to wings. I find LP to be a good online retailer I just wish they had more starter package options. Thanks again, love your channel.

    @Xilindroo Před 3 lety

    Hi James, first congrats for your channel. Very very nice. I have been diving with the cressi travel bcd for around 7 yr. I probably have a 1st gen of this bcd and I agree with you that this new features, integrated weight pockets, are no sense for travel bcd. My one doesn't have, only the full pockets. I use one very tight as well and the reason is because its very light if you get the size above it may cause a problem during th dive. As it's very light, it will start to float a bit and may cause you some discomfort, mainly if you like to dive very near to bottom or taking pictures. It's very good to reduce i don't know 1 or 1.5kg from your bag what in the end you can compensate with another gear as your fins, i use holles f1 fins and they are very heavy. In the end I strongly recommend for hot water and travel divers I just did a maintenence on my and spent less then $20 for all replacement. Again, congrats for you channel.

    You mentioned "tropics" or "warm water diving" a lot regarding this BCD. Would this BCD be good for colder water (Iceland??) as well? The fact that it folds saving space and weight in a bag that will be holding a neoprene drysuit and undergarments is very appealing to me....thanks! Love all of the content!!

    Nice review. I would like to some reviews on TUSA's gear which I haven't seen so far do. TUSA's has been around for many years and make some very good gear, I can say that because I buy a lot of their top of the line gear since 1989, I just bought a new hole setup which I really like, I like seeing your reviews, just wish you share more different gear instead of the same branch all the time.. Thank you dive safe. 🇺🇲👌🏼

  • @TheLoosenit2
    @TheLoosenit2 Před 4 lety +1

    good review loved the seaplane interruption visual. I started with a cressi travelite, it is a good and functional BCD. Only question in my mind is durability, it uses a thinner 210 denier nylon rather than the more durable 420 or thicker. It was a perfectly functional BCD. I have found since I moved to AL BP/W that I just use that, even for traveling. You also have to deal with the plethora of folks who "look down" on Cressi as cheap products. Cressi has some work to do with reputation and improving their service network in the US.

    • @DiversReady
      @DiversReady  Před 4 lety

      Hi The Loosenit2, I agree with you 100%. For me, what always surprises me about Cressi is you often get the most bang for your buck in terms of features/price, and this BCD was no exception for me. OUr next video is BPW Vs Jacket. Hope you'll like that one! Dive safe. James

  • @SpoilingCitrus
    @SpoilingCitrus Před rokem

    With this jacket BCD, I notice you were diving with a traditional octo on your reg set. I think you normally dive a long hose/primary donate and necklace reg set. Is that coincidence or is there some reason a long hose and necklace don’t work with a jacket style BCD.

    My concern with Cressi is durability. I purchased an R1 at Leisure Pro at a great discount. In my first dive trip a large tear developed above one pocket. I wasn't using the maximum weight in the weight inserts either. I have a warranty replacement and will assess on my next trip. One woman at a local dive shop told me before my dive trip that Cressi does some good things, but the BCDs don't last long.
    I found the R1 very comfortable, though.
    The main usability issue was the difficulty zipping and unzipping the pockets, which required.a surprising amount of flexibility. So I added some T-pulls to the zippers, which will probably reduce this problem.

      @DiversReady  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Skzion2, thanks for watching. Only time will tell for me. I only put ten dives on it in the Bahamas. If I have longevity issues, I will do a follow up. Thanks. James

    OK, been a subscriber for a few months now, binge-watching in quarantine, live now in the Philippines(from Texas). Many islands here to travel to for diving. Two options bring your equipment or rent when you get there. Travel BCDs is something I have been looking at for about a year now. This one seems good, but it is a jacket(I'm looking to get away from jackets as they make me feel like I'm back in the Army wearing body armor---too bulky and no sense of freedom). This jacket seems like it is easily portable, but I know from research there are many travel BCDs. What is your honest recommendation for a travel bcd given the time to get to a destination here is not very long but space is a premium? Back-plate or Jacket...me preferably, is backplate or doughnut, single tank.

    The Cressi BCD deflate to slow and the trim pockets need to be added on the tank strap making it very hard to adjust.
