To play offline or for bug: When you first come to the "press a to start" screen, press it and then immediately press "b". A menu will pop up offering you to go offline, press "go offline" and once you're in you can press the select/option button (the one opposite the start button to the left of your xbox home button). Once you did that, you immediately got in to the online menu.

I'm trying to launch the game, I press start it loads and in the middle of the load the game crashes and I get an error code. I spent 3 hrs downloading for this.
I’m stuck at the login screen where it’s says call of duty, then press the A button and nothing works. All I hear is the sound of me pressing the button

Unbelievable, should be sued for selling this as cross gen disc , thousands like me got their money taken and no fix . After Activision got me jumping through hoops for 2 weeks , I had to return my game , but besides getting the latest 4th update ,,,the campaign still doesn't play , it says I have to purchase it . But on the game pass store it recognizes the disc I own .... someone lied on their resume at Activision.... if this don't work, I'm giving up and getting battlefield

I had this issue and went straight to this video. I didn't want to go through the other steps. So, I tried (what I thought) was the simplest method. Which was step 4 at 2:00.
I went to SETTINGS -> GENERAL -> NETWORK -> ALTERNATE MAC -> CLEAR ALTERNATE MAC -> RESTART.
Once you restart, your game should be working like normal!

If you want to play campaign, I think I have found out how to get there. On the first screen, press "A." Press "B" when the online connection tab appears, and select "go offline." After, it will take you to the campaign menu screen.

Lol felt like I was gonna break the A button on my controller 🤣🤣 found out it was i needed was a Gold membership
I figured it out, so what I did was started the game up offline. And once i got through from starting it up offline, I then signed in, I was able to play online and everything. Hope this helps.

So wait I have to buy Xbox live gold separately?? Even though I am gameshare with my brother who has gamepass/gold… been trying to get pass the update screen for almost a hour. Done all that but still not letting me log in.
If you're getting the MW2 title page on Xbox, and pressing "A" and getting nothing, press "offline". Another title page will come up with "multiplayer" and "campaign" for playing single player. In the upper left corner it will tell you there's ANOTHER 26 gig download. To play single player (I don't have Xbox Live), you'll have to press "install" on the campaign. The problem is, it took about 30-40 seconds for that ADDITIONAL DOWNLOAD to start and many people are thinking after 15 seconds nothing is happening and they restart their Xbox. You'll see the 26 gig download begin in the queue in "manage apps" if you've done it right.
For me it’s I get into codmw2 and when I press a to start in the game it just continuously loads

I’m in the game but it says multiplayer, campaign and cooperative files aren’t installed, but when I click to install, it doesn’t do anything. There is 416 gb of free storage on my xbox, and together these files only amount to about 35-40 gbs. why isn’t it working?? someone pls help its been a nightmare getting this set up

Hey guys i understand that to pass this main screen you have to have Xbox live. But what if I just want to play war zone 2? It’s supposed to be played with no Xbox live. Can someone tell me?
I had this happen just now for the first time, I managed to sort it myself by going offline and going into the offline menu to start with then re-connecting to WIFI then go back to the press A to start menu and it should let you in! Let me know people worked for me

I have a solution that involves none of these steps: go to network settings I just click go off-line do it. This will force a dialog box in the game to appear enabling you to select go off-line and do the campaign.

It was my account needing gold. I got gold and signed out and signed back in my account and reloaded the game

So I tried everything that everyone here recommended on my series x and also changed my subscription to gold and still doesn’t work. It still crashes when I’m the lobby. It’s been like this since the game came out. Installed all updates and nothing. Anyone else have any other solutions?

you should be able to play warzone 2 + dmz
If you own MW2 it won't work unless you use an account that does not own it. We that's how it works for me can only play warzone on new account that never had MW2

Got Xbox live ..still gotta play offline as it still won’t load. Bunch of crap paying as much as the game is and then can’t play without live … we don’t play online at all… shouldn’t have to deal with this with a 70$ game…
