After almost 10 months, it's finally time to show you all what I've been hard at work on all this time. I Invented the closest thing so far to real wizards chess, 100% voice controlled with beautiful chess pieces just like in the movie, there are even engravings on the board!

The way the board handles promotions is that you first just say your movement, then the lightbar turns purple and you can say whether you want to promote the pawn to queen or knight, since the queen can do everything the other pieces can except for the knight there is no reason to choose any other. Once you've said to which one you want to promote your pawn, it will move the pawn and view it as whatever piece you said (you need to replace the pawn yourself).

Thanks! And yes it's moved by a small neodymium magnet connected to a cnc machine like mechanism :)

What if you put 4 or even 3 little balls on the bottom secured in place but still able to move, for the 4 which is more stable in a square and for the 3 a triangle which is still pretty good. This comment is to just help you move the pieces smoother so you don’t need the clear film on the board

NGL, I have the plastic version of Wizard's Chess without the magnets. With little speckles on the white pieces, and kinda black black pieces too. If I wanted to move a piece, well, I just pretend it's moving on it's own, and try to replicate how the piece would move in the movie! =3

As I said in the video, this project is 100% handmade, from the modeling to the painting to the soldering... You can always try to follow the explanation series :)
