  • Ivory coast, officially known as the republic of côte d'ivoire, is a country located on the western coast of africa. In this video i show you why ivory is so much more than the famous city abidjan and the capital city yamousokoro. Having travelled the 4 regions of the country, you will be amazed at how well the entire country is being developed. From the amazing roads that streches across the whole country, to the clean and well planed cities, towns and villages, ivory coast is the standard for the way africa countries should develop. To further understnd this extraordinary country in west africa, here are some key facts about the ivory coast:
    growing economy: ivory coast has one of the strongest economies in west africa. With on agriculture, particularly the production and export of cocoa, which is the country's main cash crop. Other key agricultural products include coffee, palm oil, rubber, and cotton. Ivory coast is also a major exporter of minerals such as gold and diamonds. The country has been striving to diversify its economy by promoting sectors like manufacturing, construction, and services.
    Infrastructure development: ivory coast has made significant strides in infrastructure developemd. The country has invested in upgrading transportation networks, including roads, ports, and airports, to facilitate trade and enhance connectivity. Major cities like abidjan have witnessed modernization with the development of new commercial centers, residential areas, and improved public services.the country has also made trenmendous investment in expanding access to electricity and and internet connectivity acorss the entire country.
    Social development: ivory coast has placed a strong emphasis on social development, with investments in education, healthcare, and social welfare programs. Efforts have been made to expand access to quality education, increase school enrollment rates, and enhance vocational training opportunities. Healthcare infrastructure has been improved, and initiatives have been undertaken to enhance healthcare delivery and access to quality medical services.
    Political stability: ivory coast has made significant progress in achieving political stability after a period of unrest. The country has successfully held several peaceful presidential and legislative elections, demonstrating a commitment to democratic processes. The government has taken steps to promote national reconciliation and foster social cohesion, contributing to a more stable and harmonious society.

The major ethnic groups include the akan (baulé and agni), krou (bété, dan, and guéré), mandé (senufo and malinké), and gour (bété) peoples. French is the official language, but there are over 60 local languages spoken.
    Natural resources and biodiversity: ivory coast is blessed with abundant natural resources. In addition to its agricultural and mineral wealth, the country is home to national parks and protected areas that showcase its rich biodiversity. These include tai national park, comoé national park, and mount nimba strict nature reserve, which are recognized as unesco world heritage sites.
    Agricultural modernization: as a key agricultural producer, ivory coast has focused on modernizing its agricultural sector. Efforts have been made to enhance productivity, improve farming techniques, and promote sustainable practices. The government has also invested in value addition and agribusiness, encouraging diversification and reducing dependence on a single commodity.

      Progress for all if one progressive? Each individual country should be doing their own progression. The one or few that are progressive can not represent all. Are you trying to say its progression for Sudan as well?     Ivory coast was already advanced during the sixties under the governance of Houphouet-Boigny. It is the political instabilities during the years 1999-2011 that have delayed strongly its growth.

    When i was in the primary school, i used to listen the radio reporting the civil war in Ivory Coast in 2000. There was also war in Siera Lione and Liberia. Im happy to see Ivory Coast uplifted

      I love Morocco too man and enjoyed my time in Marrakesh. It's interesting that when you speak French you say Maroc and Cote d'Ivoire and when you speak English you say Morocco and still Cote d'Ivoire. As an Ivorian, I feel offended that the official name is still Cote d'Ivoire. An other offending thing is the currency which still the franc when it's no longer the case in France itself. Nigeria is a disgrace given the enormous resources the country has (oil, mineral, farming so on). Nigerians have to flee their country because of the lack of opportunities.

      Que "papa" Ado aille dans son pays le BF faire ces réalisations, le BF en a grandement besoin, surtout que c'est grâce à ce pays, que Ado a pu faire de grandes études aux States, grâce au BF il est devenu vice-gouverneur de la BCEAO, ..etc, car la liste est longue, mais j'ai une dernière mention, c'est grâce à l'avènement de la révolution de 83 au BF que Ado a fui en RCI où Houphouet l'a copte pour énerver les révolutionnaires BF.

    Ivory Coast and Senegal are the only West African countries I've seen that have side walks. All the others are allergic to side walks.
