Gauge and I went old school with this one. How many OG Stryper fans do we have here?
Dude. I still have my "to hell with the devil" concert tshirt 🤘😇🤘
Love stryper. A little fun fact Micheal Sweet toured with Boston a few years ago
From all the way back to the "Yellow and Black Attack" days.
Man, they are amazing live. Loved going to see them when they would headline "Night of Joy" at Disney. Thinking I've seen them atleast 5 times, live.
Please, check out some more of their offerings.
First concert I paid to see was Stryper in the mid 80s, Royal Oak Music Theater. Great show.
Back in the mid to late 80's, I was a diehard metal fan and we never went to church or anything. I'm a Christian now, but my first teachings on christianity came in the form of Stryper lyrics.
@Jason Marler This song was a direct response to Christians saying they were playing the "devil's music"... I think they made their point very adequately.
Stryper was a cool fresh of air after I gave up on the British like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath.
Late but I had the same thing but with the band Powerwolf
Amen!!!! Born in 70.....I was right there with ya! Robert has been a huge influence in my percussion progression. ✌🏻
I got it when I looked up what Isaiah 53:5 was!!!
Stryper had a tremendous impact on my life as a youth. A positive message in every song!!
Same here. Stryper wrote a bunch of songs before there was a genre Contemporary Christian. I met Tim Gains once. He's a heck of a guy. The whole group has good people.
Mine too - Praise God!
the drummer- Robert Sweet- had his drum kit set so the crowd could watch him. He earned the nickname "the visual timekeeper"!
He Sucks drumming
@@Smileatlife37 no. Sorry.
Robert sweet rocks ✝️🥁🤘🏻
as a drummer I idolize his powerful playing, him and drummer of rail
@@Smileatlife37 , Tag me when you have your own drumming video that points to perfect drumming.
You should definitely listen to Stryper's Yahweh!
Absalom Portillo Yes, he definitely should!!
I came here to say this. Yahweh is absolutely their best song in my opinion.
oh yea....
Yes, definitely Yahweh!
DEFINATELY!
Michael Sweet & Oz Fox are one of the most underrated guitar duos in all of Hard Rock/Metal. They paved the way for ALL Christian Hard Rock and Metal, into the mainstream. You guys should check out their latest album "God Damn Evil". They release their new song in 2 weeks. Long time Stryper fan here!
There up there with maiden and priest.
Ratt had the dueling guitar solos also but I'd venture to say Michael and Oz are better than Robin and Michael.
My favorite Christian band by far!! And still putting out great music to this day!!
New sub. I was 14 when THWTD dropped. I'll never forget when a friend at school handed me this cassette. Yes, cassette. I was BLOWN away a Christian band could sound so good. I was only allowed to listen to The Cathedrals and other Southern Gospel quartets at home. So Stryper was a very welcomed discovery.
We used to have a summer Christian musical festival in Berea, KY and Stryper was there almost every year. This was back in the early 90s, and these concerts were just as enjoyable as any secular concert I've been to. Great group! Peace! ✌
Stryper has a newer song called “God Damn Evil” which is like this style but it’s a prayer asking God to damn evil and save His people from Satans evil. Stryper was condemned back in the 80’s for doing devils music because they dressed like Kiss and Black Sabbath and played the same style music as those bands, the church claimed they would taint what is Holy by making it common.

funny part those ones that judge Stryper back in the days finish having a lot of issues and Stryper still playing christian music 35 years later.
I had people say if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck.... they didn’t walk or talk like ducks, they spoke a totally different message and reached many people that would never have heard. We rocked this with everything else in the barracks in the 80s.
@@badpop987 I can't remember the verse right now, but Paul wrote something like "to the Jews I speak like a Jew and to the Romans I speak like s Roman."
Stryper and other rock groups that were disliked just spoked the language of metalheads to get the message to them.
Song is like 3 years old
I was 17 in 86....They were my hero's as a Christian American...Ilove Stryker...Great message to all..
Give Theocracy a video reaction, they are a Christian progressive melodic metal band.
Theocracy is amazing
I’m a metal head in my late forty’s and I first heard of stryper when I was at school, I absolutely loved them and still follow their music now, my view of metal is if you can connect with it who cares whether its demonic, political, ballads or religious just play and enjoy. You may not realise it at the time but it will help you through the tough times bring you great memories and educate you 😁
Same, heard them at 14, changed my life.
Never clicked so fast on a CZcams notification. Really excited to see your reaction. This band is amazing. List of songs to react to from Stryper:
The way
Honestly
Murder by pride
In God we trust
I'm 61 and these guys rock.. The 80's were the olympics of rock and roll with guitarists if you ask me.. It's never been outdone! These guys rocked.
Thanks guys!
Was stationed at Dulles Airport with the German Airforce back in 1986/7 and saw them tour "To Hell With The Devil" in Washington DC. Big Stryper fan since 💛🖤💛🖤💛
Very underrated band. Michael Sweet and Oz Fox, two guitarists who deserve way more recognition.
...and Oz is a great singer as well.
The Power Team lead me Christ.
Awesome!

Robert Houghton stryper murder by pride! Song by song album review
john jacobs?
Stryper is one of the best rock band ever... lots of their fans here in indonesia...
Sweet! (see what I did there?).
I've been a fan of Stryper since Soldiers Under Command...1985? I've seen them three times in concert, all fairly recently tho, never saw them back in the day.
I got to see them a few times back in the day and recently as well. They always do such an over the top fun and high energy show that they ruined me for all other live performances.
i seen Stryper in Dallas, TX during this tour. they had Loudness and Savatage opening for them. it was an awesome show.
I saw them in '87 in Topeka with Loudness and TNT.
100% Yahweh. One of their best
1986 - I was 23 on my first Navy tour in Rota, Spain. I used to put this cassette into my player and take the dog and cat out to play in the field across from our apartment building. I'm still a fan to this day !
Just found you and love your channel! I personally know the guys in Stryper (and their families) truly the nicest guys you could ever meet. Have seen them eight times and they get better every time. Thank you for doing this song!
🖤💛✝️777✝️💛🖤
"I never thought i'd say this, but...I kinda like that guy's blouse" hahahah cracking up
I love Stryper’s newer music more. I’d recommend the songs No More Hell To Pay and The Valley.
No more hell to pay is a great song, it could've have been on any earlier Stryper album and fit right in.
The Valley and I'm Sorry...plus DUE UNTO OTHERS just came out recently
Fallen is fantastic! They really understand their style now more than ever and all albums since "no more hell to pay" have been great.
Stryper changed my life, i'm 48 now & they are one of my favorite bands still. Robert made me become a drummer, so badass!!🤘i love em
Stryper are underrated legends. You should check out Razorfist on youtube(who is very not christian lol) who does a career retrospective of them and says they are one of his unironic favorite bands of all time.
Thank you I'll check it out.
Yes. I've seen the Razorfist episode multiple times. Highly recommend. Definitely not for those easily offended by language though.
If you know me, you know that I LOVE STRYPER! I definitely hope you can check out more. Their new single releases in about two weeks. And I think their new stuff still sounds fire. (And I also prefer the re-recordings of their old songs over the originals haha.)
Theocracy - I Am
Second this, I'm sure they'll like it a lot, it's also a great track musically speaking, like Mirror of Souls
Definitely, it's an awesome masterpiece they need to check it out
Great song I hope they do !!!
@@petergjata1498 yes that would be awesome love
Mirror of souls !!!
Another great band, but everyone does I am.. they have so many great songs other than that one.
Stryper influence in my life is huge!! the lyrics helped me to avoid bad decisions when I was young.
I can't even imagine how many people that Stryper reached with the Lord's message who would have never heard it otherwise.
True
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!
NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!
If you like “ To Hell with the Devil”, you definitely will like More than the man or Soldiers Under Command or Load and Clear..
Don't you mean "Loud and Clear"???
Right on bro
Soldiers under command for sure!
Yes! Reaction to a great band. the most solid band of their generation in 2022. Thank you guys
Stryper was my first concert I ever went to. They were one of the only bands at the time that had all aged shows. Was fun.
I've never heard of these guys but the vocals remind me of like Dio crossed with Vince Neil.
Check out stryper- the valley, they are still killing it
Stryper is EXCELLENT! The only band from the 80s that are still EXCELLENT today!
I was born in 73 and started listening to them when Soldiers under command came out, {1985?}. Been a fan since. I remember back then all the churches preaching against them, saying they are not right, etc. God works in all ways and forms. We can’t limit the Holy Spirit to what it can and cannot do, that’s blasphemous to think that. The group as a whole is doing God’s work in their own way.
dio - holy diver, its a really beautifull song, and dio talks in a video about his meaning and its really interesting
Y'all should check out the song "Melancholy (Holy Martyr)" by Iced Earth.
I just discovered this band today and am head over heals! How did I not discover this awesome music YEARS ago?!
Glam metal, hair metal, God Rock???? Doesn't matter, Stryper could hang with Anybody from that time. There musicianship is incredible. All four guys !!! Great band period!👍
You should review something from: Living Sacrifice: I recommend "In Christ" it gives me chills Everytime I hear it.
awesome
React to Haste The Day, I'd suggest White as Snow or Travesty!
Yup , power team is what my friend brought me to in the 6th grade in like 0something and that's the first time I remember starting to accept Christ. I raised my hand when they asked about it
Heck yes... ive loved stryper since the 80s...every single song was amazing...
You need to react to a newer song. They are so much better now, They have been putting out killer albums the last decade. They still have the yellow and black but it not over the top like they used to.
Paul Schwoch their last 3 albums are fantastic. Heavy, brilliantly produced. Check out Chaotic Resemblance, Oz Fox produced their newest record, very cool Christian band.
Really I'll check it
So if they are way better that that means they are crappy instead of shitty?
Interesting: I was at a funeral for a musician. The priest said in his homily: " God loves all music because he created all music. There's no such thing as Christian music, only Christian lyrics. Think about it.
I was a teen when Stryper came out. I still listen to them, at 51. Love music loud & with a good message
The first concert I was allowed to see. From there I saw, literally, EVERYONE! Crue, Priest, Def, Van Halen, Poison, Maiden....etc.
Saw this before, but you need to listen to "I Am" by Theocracy. It'd be perfect to hear your thoughts about this one.
I am is good. Mirror of souls is better
These guys got me into Vengeance Rising and then into Deicide and Cannibal Corpse. Thanks Stryper.
Awee Stryper love these guys, remember going through this phase in the late eighties early nineties..
Stryper were the real deal. They respected their audience and did their best to make quality music. They were never one of those bands pretending for the lucrative Christian market.
Stryper, Soldiers Under Command! One of their best!
I have been a fan of Stryper from their beginning days, when they word the makeup and dressed like bumble bees, hehe!! I finally got to see them one year, when they came to Spokane, WA on my birthday, no less. A friend of mine got us tickets, and we got to the venue, and found a table towards the back, below the balcony, and enjoyed the show. About halfway through their performance, they came out with stacks of pocket bibles with their logo on the front, and started tossing them out to the crowd. Well, one of the bibles went flying up towards the balcony, but ended up landing on the table right in front of us! I was fortunate enough to get a Stryper bible, and after the concert, I went to the meet and greet, and they all autographed it. I still have that bible, and I still read it to this day, although it is somewhat worn and well used, lol! A very nice souvenir indeed.
I saw Stryper live in Birmingham, AL 1987 or 88. I was in my early teens. My friends and I had went to one of those youth preacher things at a local civic center. The ones that rail against rock music and use various known "Devil" infused musics , for instance, Led Zeppelin's backward message in Stairway to Heaven, to lure young minds to Christ. I remember, leaving that event and my friends and I were talking about destroying our tapes and we were like :"Hey, it's cool, we still have Stryper"! I never destroyed my tapes and I came across Metallica and that was that. The moral of the story? I'm 48, 7 years sober, Jesus never left me, I still love Jesus, I talk to Him everyday, all day. He is my Redeemer and coming King. I still enjoy all kinds of music, ABBA to ZZ-Top.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Stryper !! Always have always will ! Namaste to all XoXoX & To Hell With The Devil - In God We Trust !
Yup, Saw the Power Team and Stryper live back in the 90's as a teen. it was awesome
Yes the power team!!!! I went!!! Stryper Yes!.....This is all of my christain childhood!
Both of you give me encouragement! It is so nice to see your videos looking at some of my favorite music through a different lens. Christ is King!
I got to meet them after a show here in Austin Texas and they really are the most nicest humble guys to meet. Plus they gave out little bibles during the show with autographs. Love them still. Watch the song Yahweh
THE POWER TEAM!!!!!
WOW memories, back in '88 seen and went backstage to meet Stryper with my roomie in college and was GREAT that he gave his heart to Jesus our Lord. Nice sincere guys, Michael and Frank was down to earth and sincere in their faith and no showboating as Christians, which helped me to in my life. Sadly Eric passed a few years later by a drunk driver as he was walking home . as far as the Power Team assisted them in 2006, was a real good time. New subscriber by the way, thank you for all you do , God Bless and Take Care.
Yes! The power team. They were all about tearing up phone books. Hey kids, you’ll have to google what a telephone book is...
Stryper's first concert tour kicked off in my small town Baker City Oregon at the high school.
The Power Team came to my hometown in Michigan and I got to see them preform. They were pretty cool. I loved seeing those hot water bottles burst!! Also, the song Honestly by Stryper got me through some of my worst moments in life but that's another conversation about that book!
Salvation Through Redemption Yielding Peace Encouragement Righteousness
Stryper was and still is an incredible band! They are completely unapologetic about their love for Christ and they have reached millions. Their musicianship is top notch and Michael Sweets vocals are powerful.
The power team was great! Stryper brings back so many memories! Thanks!
I remember seeing The Power Team back in '88 or so....I loved Stryper back in the day. I never cared much for the yellow and black stage clothes or the giant permed hair, but the music and message are what stood out to me. They still tour and create new music and IMO, they have only gotten better. Check out their song Yahweh.
I was a teen in the 80s. In 1987 I was 17 a woman I met visiting from CA heard what I was listening. She mailed me 3 Christian metal albums that changed my life. I like to think of these artist as Metal Pastors with rock sermons. Just a side note in 2006 I once again crossed paths with this woman and a week later married her. Interesting how God works.
My high school tried to block us from wearing this concert shirt to school. It was a great show and I remember plenty of us going!
My favorite Stryper song was instantly hooked first time I heard it
Love 80s music. Been Stryper fan since yellow and black attack there first album. 80 s is the best
I was 22 in 86, I grew up in a Christian home and when I heard them at 19 (from the first album) no Christian band before them every sounded that way, by the way prob why i got into secular heavy music
Your video was recommended to me, I'm a long time Stryper fan since I first heard of them in the late 90s, and have seen them live multiple times since then. They are still going strong and publish great music even now!
Wow... The Powerteam!! I remember them. Also, I saw Stryper a few years ago.... They still put on an amazing show! Michael Sweet can still hit those high notes. 😁👍
Thank you, I didn't know there was christian music like this! Yes!
Been a fan of Stryper since ‘85. Their new stuff rocks as well.
This song came out the year I was born and I grew up loving this song!
So glad to see Gauge back.
My dad showed me Stryper when I was 3 and that was one of my first recollections of music. And for my 9th birthday, I went to see the Power Team with about 15 of my friends. This video is giving me all types of nostalgia haha
I'm a christian and a metal head and i am so so down for this! Maaan that is liiit
praise the lord and thank you jesus for this channel god bless you pastor and son
GOD IS THE ROCK THAT MAKES ME ROLL!!
I was a junior/senior when this came out...never was a big fan of the '80's hair band/glam genre, but always gave kudos to and respected Stryper for their message.
I haven’t watched you guys in a while, but I’m so glad I watched this. I’m not religious. I just love good souls, and you are both an inspiration.
My Favorite band of ALL times.
I'm 41 and I remember Stryper being the most influential Christian metal band other than Petra growing up. I have loved this band since the mid 80s. It was great nostalgia to hear them again
Also, there's a funny scene in the movie Pain and Gain where Dwayne Johnson and some random guy sing a Stryper riff
Loved them mega rockers for God...Amazing! I was like 25 yrs old when this came out, Loved their songs Yahweh and Honestly...Thank you, Blessings
Stryper was one of my favorites in the 80's !!!
I grew up listening to them. They’re still the only band ever to have 2 top ten songs on MTV at the same time.
I saw Stryper the first time when they were playing church’s with the Yellow and Black Attack, saw them again when they were bigger. Fun concerts.
Michael Sweet, Oz Fox and the guys still kicking it 27 years later!!
Every Letter in the band’s name has a meaning: Salvation Through Redemption Yielding Peace Encouragement and Righteousness, I also remember John Jacobs and the Power Team from 1988 when they did the show at Evangel Christian Church.
The Power Team, wow that brought me back! Born in 87 and grew up watching them on TBN lol Only recently got into Stryper! Not sure how I missed them growing up. Thank you for your awesome work!
Aww yeaaaah a childhood fave!! Lessss goooo!
I saw them In February, here in Houston. My favorite Stryper song is The Valley.
