Something different today. I bought 2 Mackie SRM350 V1 active speakers for an event that I had. These were the only ones I found for such a short notice and small budget. They sound really good for their size and age but the appearance wasn't great. So I had couple of hours before the event to make them look good and give them a last sound check.
What I decided to do was:
Spray the speaker cover and handle Gloss Black
Clean the inside
Get rid of some scratches with a heat-gun
Restore the colour by using Back to Black for plastic surfaces
What I wanna do when I get more time is to take them apart clean it inside and try harder with the heatgun I didn't do it this time because of the time and that I didn't wanted to melt any cables or connectors inside.
Any questions plz comment!!

Thanks for this video. I have 4 of these I’ve been using for years that need some TLC. These look great for the time it took. I think I’ll do the same to mine. 👍🏼
I have 4 i just bought (srm450 v1) and they are the best sounding speaker I've heard. Better than the new models.
Same here too.... just got my pair today and they sound better than the V2/V3 models, its incredible. They're built like tanks and meant to last in the sound too
Happy to hear that!! I really like them for their size do a really good job 😍 and yh i heard a lot of bad things about the new ones . I only need a sub now.
@@reziistance4219 i replaced the drivers and amp on one. i then replaced the amp on both speakers. it's like new, just the exterior needs some repairs. i like their smooth response.
check out the passive version the c300,same thing as the srm450 just not amplified
I prefer a more modular setup
@@ginomanshit2365 I kind of like passive speakers. But getting old, i don't like as much bringing amps and cables. Powered speakers are easy set up. I'm always the last person to leave the event when I bring amps.
definitely in a night time setting, you can't tell at all. i was going to do the same thing, but was thinking maybe painting them, instead of the heat gun or magic black stuff. but my mackie's have like a rough undercoat like look to them. just not sure what type of paint to use on them. i was thinking an undercoat paint, with a semi-gloss or flat clear coat. and gloss black on the grills
Faina treaba ai făcut.
Multumesc mult 🙌🏼
If you don't mind me asking how much did you buy them for?
And how did they sound?
Hello
I’ve paid 250 or 300 second hand for them for a last minute event i had. They are not very loud and not very bassy but the sound quality is good and clear. I would recommend them for small events with an extra subwoofer or as a monitor.
What does the heat gun for?
Hello
Thank you for your questions.
The gun is to fix some of the scratches. I saw that on someone’s video that he was restoring some car interior trims. It did the job on some scratches.
What wattage heat gun did you use?
Hello is a 2000w heat gun.
Забор тоже надо отреставрировать.
What brand is the back to black
