Khumbu0609 they both accommodated each other and met somewhere in the middle. And compared to other pairs, they were fast. He slowed down for her and she sped up for him. I think the most impressive thing is their spins, that they were able to keep them in perfect unison, and that was most definitely Sergei, that’s where the height difference really came into play. There’s been no one else like them before or since. RIP Sergei.
Just look at how young they are here (tiny little Katia!!!😍) and still the amount of TALENT they had while still soooo young!!! Really, it’s just totally mind boggling. Watch Katia’s daughter, Liza, skating at this age. She’s nowhere near as talented. And Liza has two Olympian parents (Katia and Ilia Kulik). Katia and Sergei are absolutely unbelievable. Love watching this....how they barely look at each other in the kiss n cry area😂....and compare it to only a mere 4-5 years later, when they were in love....and especially in all of their later performances when their love for each other was just soooo evident...💞

She just always kept up with him. They were perfect.
Sergei was the one who had to slow down to HER pace, because her legs are so much shorter. An amazing feat, given the difference in size.
