Steingruber is the living embodiment of power, speed, and grace. She's so explosive in her dismounts and back flips into handsprings. A lot of verticality and altitude in her leaps.
Agreed. Very very atheltic
I really love her opening leap! Not so many gymnasts can do that leap so gracefully without compromising the 1.5 twist or the split.
And a genuinely humble and wonderful individual as well.
If only she performed this well at Olympic Games
good for the brodcast for replaying her Gogean leap, it's the most impressive ever done...
Hands down my favourite ever routine performed by Giulia Steingruber. Absolutely amazing performance & very entertaining. Congratulations Giulia!
What a fantastic blend of incredible tumbling, beautiful and exciting dance, and exceptional interpretation of the music. She has it all!
Once she adds a DLO and a leap out of a pass, she'll have a difficulty as good Simone Biles. The way she did these passes I think she'll execute the routine with the DLO just as good and she will challenge Aly and Simone
+John Smith Not sure about Simone, but she'll challenge Aly for sure. Having three passes really helps her execution score.
+Anne It does because she doesn't have to worry about a fourth tumbling pass to have bad form or landings on. Think about it; when she had four passes, usually she would mess at least one up, but she usually hits all three. Although she's going to need to do that better in finals because she hasn't been able to do it like in Bern earlier this year... if she does it even close to Bern, I think she has at least bronze, and the double lay could help her win that too. Aly isn't (or shouldn't) go over 8.9 in execution, so I think 15.366 is the highest she's going, while Giulia could at least go 15.2 with a routine like this. She doesn't need to be as precise because she has less passes, which is my argument.
+Kojo Baidoo I hope I see her Olympic floor routine soon from another source. In typical NBC fashion, they rarely show other gymnasts from other countries and I love this gymnast. I hope she wins an individual vault and floor medal.
This is one of my fave floor routines just because of that little groove she gets down to mid routine. I love it!
The skill, the choreo, the music, the crowd... One of my favorite routines of the quad
I love her little groovy session mid routine.
This combo of power and grace is very rare. Also that double-double was ENORMOUSLY high. Yay Giulia!! :D
Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
Her Double Double is just so beautiful to watch, honestly
That opening leap though..

Philipp Ludwig von Seidel thank you!:D
Do you know the first song?
The first song ist Leaf from Al Pride (a swiss band)
how comes they got her d score as 6.4?? I thought it was a 6.3??
They credited the jump at 1:20 as a 1½ straddle jump rather than a 1/1 straddle jump, mostly because of the stag jump ½ she does out of it which was a bit of a code loophole. At the Olympics they were a lot more strict and never credited it as a D in her exercise (she didn't even get it 1¼ around then, even with the extra stag jump to disguise it).
ChainChomp2 thanks for the reply. I recently commented on a ksenia afanaseyva floor routine (her 2013 one to the 2013-16 CoP). Could you respond to that one as well please. Cheers.
