No insulting or derogatory comments about any of the brothers in Islam. This video is a polite response, I hope you do so too.
Great response brother. I also questioned why you didn't just condemn the attack.
@@Soyodi nothing to condemn.
Just glad to be here, I hope this doesn't sound deplorable but previously a girl was stabbed and beaten to death and afterwards her corpse was set on fire here in Nigeria because she insulted The prophet in a group chat on WhatsApp, initially I was angry with my brothers in Islam that did this act and I heard a reputable sheikh comment that even in Muslim nations with Islamic laws on blasphemy it is not for a mob to carry out this punishment but it is the duty of a Sharia court to investigate and then carry out punishment if found guilty and I still went on condemning the act of my brothers in Islam but lately I've been seeing things from a different perspective, and if not for the fear of death and anger of Muslims that is inspired in the hearts of this unbelievers they would desecrate all the things we hold holy and symbolic just like they did Christianity and Islam would have become a joke by now that tolerates every transgression so now even though I consider this attacks evil I am starting to see them as necessary ones now.
@@ThePrinceOfNigeria send me a link to the attack ? For some reason I don't believe you.
@@Soyodi why does he need to condemn it. This pandering to these criminals is sickening. Did we ask white people to condemn the shaytan who killed that Muslim sister rahimullah or Wayne couzens
This is how a Muslim should respond, with wisdom, clarity, unpacking the situation. Ma'Sha'Allah
What wisdom? It's just evasiveness. Do you think anyone listening to this will have a positive image of Islam? Even Muslims will want to leave it.
*"The only person responsible is the assailant himself."*

al-Andalusi and Saajid are both brilliant and polite brothers. Both give feedback in an Islamic, polite way. Masha'Allah ❤

The prophet saw said who ever engages in assabiya (racism/nationalism) it would be better to bite your fathers genitalia
I understood what brother Sajid meant. But I think after listening to this video, it seems you took the right approach. Jazakallaho Khair for explaining your point of view in detail.
Saajid is a snake
You were a paragon of Islamic etiquette on that program at the same time remaining firm. May Allah preserve you brother.
I agree 100%. Why are Muslims always expected to apologize for actions done by someone individual? If the precondition is that Muslims are guilty or condone vile actions until they condemn it to prove their innocence, then that's not a Muslim problem; that's a prejudicial problem on the other people's part.
because that individual is killing for the name of your miserable religion
the murder and killings of Blasphemers who insult Islam , like Rushdie ,
Is well established under Islamic law , when you include hadiths and Tafsirs.
It allows for their killing.
But it doesn't allow for vigilantism. That is true
But under an a proper Caliph and Qazi , they ought to be executed under Islam.
So it is very much justified to ask a muslim ,
If they are condemning the actual attempted murder of Rushdie , because it was done by a vigilante ,
And whether they will be okay with the exact same murder and killing , if it was done under proper Islamic court and caliphs.
It might come off as insult , but it's because your scriptures are rotten like that.
The problem with this argument is that it makes what anyone holds important, sacred to them and should therefore be AGGRESSIVELY protected. Now look at this examples;
1. can an LGBT individual attack any believer, as they know their faith teaches the killing & torture of those with their characteristics
2. can English people say, every non-english person should leave their country; AS THEY HOLD BEING ENGLISH SACRED, and also take it further by attacking people that ARE NOT ENGLISH, or are PROPONENTS OF MIGRATION.
This 2 simple eg just shows that going down this road of FORCED RESPECT what is sacred to a group is not a good idea, especially for believers.
don't claim to be a peaceful religion then 🙄
@@jameslog3431 stupid statement. Not surprised.
Brother Abdullah has a long experience with the tricks of media and interviews, alhamdulilah he does well every time he appears on tv.
I 💯 agree with you. We don’t expect westerners to condemn their governments’ bad actions in our Muslim lands, so why are we expected to condemn every bad action that a Muslim commits in their lands? This is just silly!

Abdullah al Andalusi is one of the wisest and sharp people I have ever seen & I think other honest non muslims would also agree
He honestly did not seem very wise and smart on the interview.
@@reflectingsoul6704 which particular points did you feel were not smart or unwise? It'd be helpful if you expand on your statement and also offer helpful suggestions.
@@reflectingsoul6704 neither would you if it was 3 against 1 and the opponent was trying to force a confession out of you on live tv. It was a no-win scenario, rigged to be that way. I mean why else would you pit a neo conservative like Douglas Murray with a Muslim? You really think they wanted to know the Islamic response? Ppl need to wise-up. Some scenarios are simply about walking away with the least amount of bruises, cos you ain't gonna win every fight. Now if you were to pit three other intellectual Muslims in that panel, with the other three non muslims, then we would have smashed it, no contest.
Daniel Haqiqatjou is also very wise and articulate in his response. 🙁

3:15 very good point. And overall very agreeable video.
Exactly. Why do we have to condemn something that has nothing to do with us?
Brother you need to do more breakdowns like this of current/social issues. Your mature, concise and clear approach is refreshing.
Agreed, we should not be asked to condemn such attacks
Vile foul and loathsome

Thats what they do when a Muslim does something we are expected to speak on it but when others do something none of them are asked to do so
Brother you did an excellent job and exposed them for what they are. That discussion isn’t the disaster some are claiming it is.
While I respect Saajid, he is totally wrong on this point. It is very important Muslims move away from the condemnation culture and start to change the narrative and we have to respect Abdullah not wavering to any right-wing pressure (sadly many scholars would have caved and started condemning).
wouldn't say he is *totally* wrong but I get your point. BarakAllahu Feek 🖤☝🏽
they both have a point, Although I agree more with Mr. Al Andalusi concerning this situation.
Right, so no one should condemn an attack on Muslims next time, or stand in solidarity with the Muslim community. Bc *it is assumed* we do. 😉

Condemning the attack is associating with the attack. If we dont condemn football hooligan fights, why should be condemn this?
It has nothing to do with us. The only reason why we should discuss this is to dissociate ourselves after right wing extremists slander muslims and tries to associate us with them.

You did what you could with the amount of time they gave you. If Murray had any courage he would engage/debate someone like yourself from the muslim apologetic scene since he has so much to say about us,
"....if Murray had any courage..."
He's not known as Gutless Murray for nothing.
5:45 - 6:45: This is really important. Never thought of it that way. As someone who loves brother Saajid and watches nearly every video of his I can see how one would get into a tricky situation here. I would like to hear what solution brother Saajid has for this. I'm not taking anyone's side in this but can see both of you have some solid points
It's like asking someone, have you stopped beating your wife? There is an implicit assumption that presupposes that you are guilty of such act, when there is no proof.
I think brother Sajid is sincere, but his takes can be a bit simplistic at times. I also think you did quite well on that program. I especially liked the point you made about how the Christchurch shooter was motivated by a lot of these right wing figureheads and none of them were asked to condemn his actions.
I agree with you! 💯
His takes seems mostly to rebuke Muslims whilst advising to be nice with enemies of Islam.. he said something similar about Ali dawah and apuss..
this video is an eye opener. masha allah what a beautiful explanation and level of respect I was able to witness.
At First I wondered why didn't you condemn or at least show them the islamic position of what happened, but after you explaining the reason behind it , I got the bigger picture that we don't have as Muslims to condemn every wrong action that someone who is under the umbrella of İslam doing.
To be honest the obvious thing that I noticed at that time that the discussion was a you mentioned politically loaded.
Jazak allah khier for explaining to us these significant points
Not really a good thing that you initially supported the non-believers over your brother. May Allah guide you and me.
Who said i supported? I was disgusted by the interviewer and Murray's attitude and stand.
I only wondered why didn't our brother Abdullah condemn the action, and this video clarified it 😄
"Wrong" action? It was not wrong
Emotional reasoning and confirmation bias is what motivates these people in order to illicit strong emotions of associating disgust and barbarism with Islam from viewers. Even Muslims have been indoctrinated to always apologise for every vigilante act done by a Muslim.
I agree with what you said. I think Sajid wanted to lean more toward the less sophisticated non-Muslims (especially in the US) who need to hear a simple a straightforward language. But then again, as you explained, it would be a bit shortsighted when those questions about the deen start popping up.
he could say something like: " the islamic stance is against all vigilante acts, so why are you questioning me like I owe you an explanation?"
@@SimpleReally against all vigilant acts? So do you condemn the attack on Charlie Hebdo? Do you condemn the sharia laws?
The Sharia law doesn't classify as a vigilant act.
@@haichteaque2929 yes but I am demonstrating the rabbit hole that ustad Abdullah talked about. You do not want to enter it by condemning the attack. Saajid definitely does not understand this, the only thing he is good at is slouching and talking bs like a turd. You will see him never engage in any live debate or anything
@@JakeBrancatellaClips I said non-Muslims and I didn't put anyone down. Some are more sophisticated than others and can handle complex concepts or vocabulary, some just want blunt and straightforward answers.

Excellent, a lot more nuanced and thought went in to it showing you have learned from past experiences in these kinds of interviews. This was absolutely necessary. On the outset the portrail of the Muslim was that he came across as a terrorist sympathiser but the reasoning behind it as explained here makes complete sense. I hope that this video can be somehow linked with the original viral video so other Muslims and non Muslims can benefit. Well done and keep up the good work.

Brother Abdulla,,
I personally thought you did answer their question when you explained in the beginning of that debate that you shouldn’t be questioned about what a foreign government does particularly when this government doesn’t represent you nor did you vote for it.
So as far as I was concerned that was clear
The rest of the video was mostly Douglas Murry coming down on you with a shower of insults while failing to present any counter argument to any of to the points you were raising, all the while, while non of the journalist in that studio even flinched at the insults Douglas Murry was spewing or even protested any of the language Douglas Murry was using.
It’s very easy for people to watch videos and pick points that could have been done in a better way, but it is really difficult to do what you did and sit in that studio and stay calm in the face of insults while continuing to present strong arguments.
I believe your analysis of the way they would have steered the conversation had you fallen into answering the trap question is spot on.
In my opinion, You did well brother
I ask Allah to accept your efforts and to reward you
thoroughly explained and absolutely agree on every point. questions w sinister undertone categorizing only a muslim that by default we have to prove we condemn a crime but not the other way around. I will not bow down I don't teach my children to be sheep to the wicked. we stand firm and we set a standard to ourselves foremost. May Allah azze we jal continue to enlighten our brother Abdullah al Andalusi.

This was important. Would be good to see a direct discussion between the two of you, in sha Allah.
100% if you condemned the follow up question would definately be a trap and a bigger discussion would open up to attack core beliefs simply by pointing out blasphemy laws in Sharia and you would be in a dilemma one of the women on panel was eager to bring Sharia to the discussion. your approach was very wise my brother.
May Allah SWT bless and preserve you brother. I always enjoy listening to you. I just haven't commented it enough. Thank you. Bless you 🕋‼️💯

This was a great clarification video brother may Allah keep you firm and push you forward Ameen.
I absolutely agree with you. Brother Saajid had no bad intentions at all. But I think sometimes he's a bit too simplistic in his takes. And sometimes I've even seen the brother not give a benefit of doubt to our brothers and sisters. His videos are quite clear and clean which I absolutely love but the situation in question sometimes are far more complex and requires much more nuance.
Brother Abdullah never said to not condemn the attack but rather not condemn outwardly on a platform that is merely trying to trap you.
Obviously, we are to condemn a crime if we can't stop it with out hands. But in this case, I think we should take the 3rd option of staying outwardly silent and just hate/condemn the action itself. As the question was a trap to attack our religion. This was very cleverly dealt with by brother Andalusi.
Brother you are absolutely 💯 right. May Allah increase brother lipman and the likes aamen

Keep this momentum going and try to get the fans of these right wing neo-cons and supporters to engage in proper discussion so we may all be enlightened... so false impression is not given that they are the true supporters of such thoughts and ideas!... intellectual responses are necessary and hypocrisy need to be exposed!... are we consistent or are they nice buzz words driven by agendas to discriminate, distract and hate by making a community to distrust and target?

Excellent response, unfortunately there’s too many Muslim apologists especially amongst the Saudi Salafi movement, they are so quick to condemn before even knowing all the facts, it’s these type of people who cause more problems and raise more suspicion amongst the Muslim community, the problem is this condemnation and refutation culture is enshrined in their manhaj
The Saudi Salafi movement doesn’t represent the entire Salafi movement. It represents a minority. No sincere Salafi would sellout the Dīn to kuffār.

Respectful response/discussion like this is great 👍🏽
I have yet to see good advice from Sajid. His entire channel is based on attacking other Muslims
Thank you sir
Totally agree with you dear brother!
Islam teaches that God is the Most Just and that each person will be held responsible for their own actions on the Day of Judgement.
Each person is accountable, as they have freedom of choice and intelligence to discern between right and wrong.
It is an absolute demand of justice that there be a Day of Judgement where every person is rewarded or punished, otherwise life would be unjust as not everyone receives true justice in this world.
Islam teaches that ultimately we will be judged for how well we fulfilled our responsibilities and exercised our free will.
We will be judged by God, the All Knowing and All Wise, who knows and sees everything we do.
This encourages a more harmonious society and gives people contentment knowing that justice will ultimately prevail.
I understand what Saajid was saying. But this right here is a immensely thorough, on pretty much all angles.
I loved your elaboration on if in fact you did comply and condemn the attack that they would then follow up with a series of questions to pressure you to denounce Islam or aspects of the Sharia which various Muslim speakers have done unfortunately.
Agree. May Allaah be in your aid continually
Jazak'Allah Brother, Walaikum Assalam

Phenomenal. Marshallah, may Allah SWT reward you. I wish Saajid would just stay out of every affair, he just has no idea about how media outlets work and secondly we need to stand behind our brothers like Abdullah 150%, support them and encourage them. Yes, I'm sure they'll make mistakes on occasion but we don't need to call em out for it every time it happens (mind you I don't believe Abdullah made any blunders here). Anyway you don't see other communities calling each other out for petty issues do you? Frankly, either get on board or get out of the way. There's work to be done. Just to add, this was 4 against 1 Muslim and that's a no win scenario on live tv. If the host was fair and added a few more intellectual Muslims on the panel, then this interview would be whole other story!!
