  • In this video I build a cheep bender for RHS (square steel tube) it should be able to bend up to 20mm with a 1.6mm wall but will need to be bolted down with a stronger handle bar before I try that, the former's are available in many sizes so with extra holes the bar will be able to be used on different former's so the cost will not go up by much per size

    If you were to stack two or three same sized plates this idea could bend some pretty thick wall and large diameter tube with a longer leverage bar.

    Shed Corgi is skeptical, but it looks like a great setup for rectangular tubing. Have you tried it on round tube? My concern is that the narrow bearing shell would dent it. Time to fab up a larger bushing!

    • @juscozcustoms
      @juscozcustoms  Před 10 měsíci

      Cool. You will need to grab some different size weights for different size bends for nesting and definitely a larger handle to bend 25x2SHS

    Misread the title , but I jumped on the vid when I read it briefly in suggested videos. So it does that job nicely. I was dreaming it was for pipe when I headed toward the story? Funny how big heavy rhs won't follow the same easy result when bending? The walls ripple and the width compresses . This little stuff is very cooperative and finishes fairly smooth.

    • @juscozcustoms
      @juscozcustoms  Před 2 lety

      True. Normally box sections need the inside wall to be crushed to help form the bend. I feel this method of manual bending is limited to 25x25mm section with a bigger lever.
      I have another cheap ebay bender that does a pretty good job on small tube from 10mm up to 25mm (with a longer handle than what is supplied) I have used it to make a mini buggy for my son and it works rather well.

    • @juscozcustoms
      @juscozcustoms  Před 11 měsíci +1
