Clove is a BETTER duelist than Reyna

- With patch 8.11 around the corner, I decided to play a ton of Reyna to get a better idea about the agent. After a lot of ideas, I came to some realizations that I didn't expect and I want to share those with you in this video.

Funny given the name of her ult since she really IS en empress. She needs people to support her selfishness but when she gets it shes the most powerful piece on the board
such a good video, this is the exact same reason why playing clove is how you wanted to feel when you play Reyna. Keep making cool videos!
I feel reyna is really good at first contact and good second entry and good for most retakes but if you try to like actually entry above anything like gold it doesnt work out well for you. And i personally play clove like reyna with smokes and you can entry more consistently just because you have the control over the smokes and you actually have smokes, when i played a lot of reyna you didnt always have smokes because not everyone likes to play smokes and not everyone even knows how to smoke properly.
That was exactly my experience playing Clove. Having control over your own smoke timings in ranked felt a lot better then flashing for myself when trying to hit a site. If you have a team that knows what they're doing, you can kinda take the back seat as Clove and play more of a traditional smoker if you want to. But if you do need to step up, you can be smokes while also being like a Reyna for your team.
Reyna is my girllll!! Not all of us are toxic, I swear!!! I just came back to Valorant after a long hiatus so I don't have Clove yet, but she looks really awesome! Your vid makes me want to just give Rito the money to unlock her instead of waiting to earn it 🤣🤣🤣

I don't even play valorant, but I thought Reyna was a second entry, she has no smokes and her "flash" isn't good for first entry for obvious reasons, she is a duelist in the truest sense of the word, not necessarily an "entry" like how neon or Jett can just take space and break onto site with little help *required* from their team

I don't know what game you're playing, but Reyna is never the only duelist, I'm usually the only one that isn't a duelist.
Yeah, there's usually at least 2 duelists every game haha. But sometimes one of the duelists goes for showers when the rest of your team goes A short on Bind or one of the other duelists gets 1 tapped @ round start.
Reyna, phoenix etc is contact duelist(protect team or entry)
Jett, raze etc is entry(jumps on site and creates new pressure points for defence)

saw another comment mention this, but reyna (and other agents like phoenix, iso) dont work as good entry duelists, but work well as first contacts. while i think the discussion revolving around how reyna should be played can be a bit mixed, i think reyna acts sort of as the autopilot agent where if i (an omen/harbor main) am having a rough day and i need to just shoot people, i just sort of pop reyna for a game and have at it yknow? its extremely selfish, but it feels like an agent designed to just let you thrive rather than truthfulky, contributing to the team more than not. i mean, thats why she is designed in the sub class of first contact- you're getting that first fight. the addition of clove has let those sort of players feel like they can die and still actively provide value, and i think it's something that has sort of been needed for a bit. idk this was a yap comment but reyna feels like shes really good at one thing and its to hit heads and dance around the site with your dismiss, sucking the life out of the enemy after winning a 1v3 retake you couldve only won after ulting and getting that first pick.
other than thatholy crap the voiceover and editing were actually good, so simple yet so effective, gonna watch more vids after this fs, cant say anything else other than keep up the good work
100% agree. Outside of some specific things like super flashes that teams do in pro play, Reyna really is there to provide the X-factor and chaos to your team. It's hard to appreciate at first because it feels extremely selfish when you're not the player on Reyna that game but the value is there.
I think Paper Rex is a pro team that showcases this really well with both Jinggg and something pulling off crazy clutches with Reyna.

Good analogy. I play reyna on and off, I find entry difficult, Raze and Jett are better at pure real entries. Reyna is more like ISO now. Clove.. is unique. I think increasing Reyna's blind range and duration, even by 0.5 sec might help, but RIOT will nv do it. Then again seeing how they are willing to buff Neon so much just to test water, they should do smth to make Reyna better at 'solo' entry without too much Team's help.
out of topic: hope they reduce Cypher traps by one, and increase Chamber's teleport range, and cooldown. Cypher is getting so op in pro-plays and ranked games, and Chamber is like top 3 pick to bottom 3 pick now.
Honestly, I agree with buffing Reyna's Leer to either last a little bit longer or have a faster equip / unequip time even if it meant compensating with slight nerfs.
Cypher Trapwires are definitely annoying. I feel like reducing it to one would kneecap him too hard but I do wish they at least increased the distance in which you can hear / see his trapwires by at least a little bit so that players can react before running into one more easily.
@prohibit3252 agreeee! Now if only RIOT would take some of our feedback. Ur suggestions are even better than mine! Seeing how they can do the faster equip/unequip with Neon in the 8.11 patch. They should do the same for Reyna too, until u mentioned, it really is pretty slow. Haha!
Yeahh cypher trips! Reduce stun, reduce the ping-out/pinging out duration helps too. Jus do smth about it to make it less strong in game!! If u think reducing it by one is drastic, RIOT reduced jett dash and chamber teleport from 2->1 too!!! Haha so controversial

Yah, I always found it kinda crazy how many teammates gets tilted yelling at their Reyna to entry when they have a Jett or Raze on their team.

A queen's sacrifice in chess is a very hard move to pull off. Similar to Reyna(Queen) games, you don't want to lose your Reyna early because of a bad trade.

After the patch? Clove is definitely still viable. The nerfs hurt a bit but Clove was statistically by far the best performing agent in ranked according to Riot.

@@user-kv5yh4er5p oh yeah I get you, is not really about the character, I don't really care about the pronouns of a fictional character. But as a non-binary person, when I see people not using the correct pronouns on a fictional character, I tend to believe that the person misusing them will probably do the same to me.
Normally I don't care about mine either, but a lot of other people do, it's just as a "if you do it to fictional characters, you'll probably do it to real people to.
