sorry for mama-bearing for a minute, but take care of yourself! baby that cough. it’s probably not common(?) but i had to quit teaching because of a persistent cough and sore/prickly throat that got worse and worse, interfering with my ability to speak, until i started throwing up if i talked for more than a few minutes at a time. it took a couple of months to diagnose, but it turned out i had vocal cord damage, and the only treatment was to talk as little as possible til it healed. i stepped out of my classroom in october, and was healed enough to *start* speaking again in april. i didn’t start teaching again… and i started showing symptoms again recently, so i’m on another vow of mostly-silence for a while. siiigh. i feel trapped and miserable when i can’t talktalktalk. my family probably doesn’t mind so much. 😅
