I really like this song. She has such fluidity in her high notes. They kind of just soar in from out of the blue like little birds. And we know that no story is complete without chill-ustrations spilling along the arms!

Same set, I think the order of song for this is Half the World Away (OAISIS cover), Runaway, and Murder Song. If you want to continue on the darker side of AURORA I would recommend In Boxes and In Bottles.

A little story about the murder song (my favorite).
Aurora wrote this song after reading about a "murder" in the paper near her homeland. A man killed his wife/girlfriend out of love. She was seriously ill and suffered more every day. He released her from suffering. The song is sung from the perspective of the woman's ghost. Maybe he killed her with her consent (I hope so) or he made the decision on his own. No idea. And this is for me her darkest Song.
You will only find this explanation of this song in one interview with her. It's not written anywhere else. And usually she doesn't explain her songs that specifically either, because she wants everyone to find their own story in them. This way songs stay interesting longer. That's why I also believe that this explanation was just an accident. It was also just a brief side note on a question asked, by the way.
She usually only says to the song it is a true tragic love story that doesn't end well.
It should be said that this News was an inspiration for this song. That doesn't have to mean that the song itself is about it. But since it all fits together, I think so. Of course, it is written in such a way that many interpretations are possible. Just like Aurora actually always does.

Such an act arising from one's pain for another's suffering, combined with a love for that person so great that they must, at all cost see such pain cease, clarifies the song. I like the song better for knowing what you wrote.
Otherwise one is not sure if the guy is just imagining he's saving her from an impending Zombie attack or some such madness.😱.

She may not have the vocal range or techniques of other singers, but she does something far more rare, she sings emotions from her soul.
I think i know what are i mean, its not her range, its more a technical thing. Aurora never took singing lessons, learned to play keyboard on a little broken electrical keyboard. I think one of the most stark contrasts i can think of would be Christina Aguilera, she is considered to have a perfect singing technique.for me it is too bombastic, and sometimes evens feels .. for lack of a better word „unorganic“ and predictable. As it is with techniques, the are behavioral patterns that can be applied again and again once learned. Aurora singing is very pure and conceptually just executed on how she feels it should sound like, that is always the impressions i have. Also she again and again just does things i never heard anywhere else and uses her voice like an instrument the way classically trained singers never would think off. She is an outstanding singer/vocalist and performer.
